Svenja is amazing. She is so talented and every piece of her work is art.
We wanted something simple and natural for our winter wedding. I was unable to visit her workshop and see her work, but my fiancé was able to go and see her work in person. We didn’t really know what exactly we wanted or what we were doing. She was always willing to offer us additional help and information to really help us build a vision. She exceeded our expectations and her attention to detail is fantastic. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Svenja!

BLOWN AWAY! Just completely blown away, that’s the feeling you get when working with Svenja. Her work is beautiful and she is a true artist. When I got engaged last year I knew without a doubt that Svenja was going to do my wedding, she worked with my budget, added amazing elements I didn’t even know I wanted and was a dream to work with. A total dream, she’s organized, professional, friendly and just «gets it». I’ve worked with a lot of different wedding vendors and trust me, she’s the best.
Her work is really unlike anyone I’ve ever seen. Everyone at my wedding complemented the florals. The bouquets were breathtaking, the centerpieces were just perfect (we decided on long tables with low centerpieces and her vision was spot on) and overall décor was perfect for our wedding.
Svenja doesn’t miss a beat, she’ll remind you what you’ll need and won’t need and something I appreciated most was how much she worked with my budget.
She really was my most favorite person at my wedding. You don’t have to worry about one detail regarding florals when booking Svenja. I am forever grateful!!!

Flowers were pretty low on my list of priorities for my August 2015 wedding. I usually find wedding flowers to be cheesy with roses and glitter, or overly contrived with a ridiculous color scheme. I am so glad my wedding planner introduced my partner and I to Svenja!
Svenja is an amazing artist, whose medium happens to be flowers. Her work is breathtaking and unique. Her arrangements remind me of a Dutch still life painting, where the longer you look, the more you discover. She has an eye for detail and form, and also pushes the envelope. Multiple guests commented on how unique our wedding flowers were.
Although we were on the lower end of wedding budgets she works with, Svenja spent a lot of time at her studio talking about options and our vision for our venue. She sent out a proposal immediately, and making changes a couple weeks out from the wedding was no big deal (we needed more boutonnieres).
Not only is her work great, Svenja is also a funny and kind and was a pure joy to work with. One of the weddings lowest priorities turned into one of the best parts of our big day.

Unbelievable. Just the best of the best for service, value, and design. Spectacular work: fresh and abundant arrangements, exquisite taste. Wish there were more stars I could give!

What can I say? If I could give 100 stars I would. Svenja is an artist. Her work left me speechless. We hired her for our wedding and I just couldn’t have been happier. She is incredibly friendly, professional, and responsive by email. We talked about a theme, a budget, and some color schemes, and then just let her run with it. You could tell that she had a lot of fun putting it together. She was totally flexible and adapted to last minute requests (we found out that we needed an extra centerpiece a couple of days before the wedding and it was not a problem).
As for the flowers themselves: they were just so beautiful and unique! It felt like we were in an enchanted forest. When we arrived at the venue and saw how she arranged everything, I was breathtaken. I know I sound cheesy with this review, but I just can’t get over how gorgeous everything was.

I used Chestnut and Vine for my January 15 wedding and could not have been happier. My wedding planner recommended Svenja to me after I told her I did not want normal wedding flowers and it was a perfect fit from our very first meeting. She took a few inspiration photos we had forwarded her before our meeting and created multiple gorgeous set-​ups for me to see. It was amazing.
We spent a few emails and meetings getting everything just the way we wanted and Svenja was patient with all of my requests and last minute changes. The day of the wedding we were absolutely blown away by how amazing the venue looked and all of the personal touches that nailed our overall image we were going for.
Svenja is also one of those people that is not just a wedding vendor and you come away feeling like you’ve added anew friend to your fold. I wish we could have our wedding every weekend, just so we could work together again. She really is amazing!

They made the most beautiful bouquet for my aunt.
I don’t live in the area, but they worked with me over the phone /​email to set something up for a local delivery.

I used Svenja for my wedding flowers and could not have been happier. Svenja spent hours with my fiancé, mom and me discussing design and flower arrangements and created the perfect floral décor and huppah for our wedding. Thank you, Svenja!

Do you see all of those five star ratings for Svenja? Since five stars is the most you can give I guess we’ll have to be satisfied with only giving her five stars. Svenja did all of the floral arrangements, including bridal bouquet, boutonnieres and table settings for our daughter’s wedding at Cavallo Point on August 30^th. Svenja was an absolute joy to work with from beginning of wedding planning to the wedding event and her artistry with flowers added to the event. We strongly recommend Svenja for your floral needs for any event – you simply will not find anyone better.

I would give Svenja and her team as many stars as possible if there were more available — I literally can’t say enough good things about her AMAZING work (trust me, enough people have already listened to me rave about her)! From the moment I first met with her, I trusted Svenja’s work and artistic vision completely, and felt that she really understood what we were looking for (we had a loosely vintage carnival themed wedding, so we wanted beautiful color and rustic décor). She sent the most amazingly detailed follow-​up email after our first meeting, and from there I knew I had to work with her and I am SO glad we did! I agree with another reviewer that one of my favorite wedding memories was watching the flowers come together the morning of our wedding, including our ceremony arch, which was an amazing creation in itself that I wish I could’ve somehow fit into our apartment to keep forever :)
Not only is Svenja’s work amazing, but she is a delight to work with. She’s super responsive and she was always willing to share her expert opinion on things when I had questions while still being respectful of our vision, things we wanted to do on our own, and the budget we were working with. She also thought of everything from start to finish and was always up to the challenge when I changed some things fairly last minute — she just offered great suggestions for every change! I know I said it before, but I can’t say enough good things about working with Chestnut and Vine, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. I just wish I could be surrounded by her beautiful floral creations all the time!

With a last minute same day delivery request, I was pleasantly surprised when Svenja said «yes, that should not be a problem at all.» Even with my vague request of something ‘young and fresh with holiday festive reds and whites’, Svenja didn’t hesitate with some candy-​cane flowers and other types I’d never heard of before. Basically she said oh I have the perfect this and that. No doubt our injured buddy will receive a pleasant bouquet.
I can’t wait to use her for future arrangements.

Summer Wedding. Autumn Reception. For both events we used Chestnut & Vine. They were able to customize both events to make the flowers and feel of the venues totally unique. They are underpriced for the vision their design director brings to the table. I would happily use them every time I have need of event flowers, and cannot speak highly enough in my recommendation of their professionalism, timeliness, high street design, and staying conscious of your budget.

My squeeze started a new job in berkley so I wanted to send him flowers for his first day. Pretty much every review on here was for wedding work so I wasn’t sure if they did much in the way of small orders but I called them anyway as the stuff looked legit. The lady I spoke with was so helpful. Less than 90 minutes later I had a text about how much he loved the arrangement with a photo. I couldn’t believe what a nice display they made for what seemed like a reasonable price, and delivered it right away. Would definitely use them again.

Choosing Chestnut and Vine to be our florist for our wedding was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Svenja is ingenious. A true artist with exceptional taste.
My hunnie and I just got married five days ago. One of the first things I had to do upon returning to reality was write a review while everything was still fresh on my mind.
During our first meeting, Svenja listened to everything we talked about and she picked up on little details to create an overall vision. She knew what direction I was trying to go toward and we worked together on a general concept. When I met with her again about 9 months later, she still remembered all the little things we discussed as if we never left off. I wanted to give her free reign with the floral design and, in the end, she totally exceeded my expectations.
My interactive centerpiece was the most unique design I had ever seen and Chestnut and Vine helped make my vision come true. Our wedding was at Beltane Ranch, and as beautiful as that venue is, it would not have been nearly as gorgeous without the hard work of C&V.
Svenja is not only a brilliant floral designer but she’s also a truly great person. Very responsive, very honest, exceptionally talented, completely professional and genuinely sweet.
Now, if only I could have C&V do the interior design for our new house.

I almost can’t put into words how wonderful it was working with Svenja. She captured what I wanted for our wedding to the T and she was able to do it for us within our budget no less! Her work is INCREDIBLE. I am so grateful to have found such a polite, helpful, and artistic florist to work with. She even asked to see my wedding Pinterest board to help her get a sense of what I was picturing. I loved that! Thank you, thank you, thank you Svenja for being so good at what you do.
We had originally worked with another florist who was not as polite or helpful and it was extremely relieving and refreshing to find someone like Svenja who clearly enjoys what she does and enjoys working with people! She was never rude about our budget (which wasn’t huge), and was able to work with me to make the arrangements the best they could be within our means. The day of I was impressed to find that the arrangements were even bigger, fuller, more beautiful than I had thought we could have!
I live out of state right now, but I plan and hope to work with Svenja for any future events in the Bay area and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top notch wedding florist. Believe the Unilocal hype, she is truly the best.

All we knew coming into our first meeting with Svenja was that we wanted white flowers for our wedding. After chatting with us for a while, Svenja seemed to grab details from our conversation and create the perfect arrangements just for us. They were breathtaking. Everything from my bouquet to wreaths on the door to the arrangements at the tables — all were impeccably done.
Chestnut & Vine is a perfect partner for all of your floral dreams. Not only are they extremely creative, but they are also great with communication, patient and extremely kind. They truly care about you. My husband and I felt like we had gained a friend at the end of the planning process.

The owner, Svenja Brotz, is seriously a floral expertise! We had our wedding more than a year ago and our guests are still buzzing about the beautiful and captivating floral centerpieces whenever our wedding gets brought up. This past weekend was the second time I was a bridesmaid in a Chestnut and Vine wedding. Svenja really is the best out there. I am usually wary of reviews when they are all 5 stars, but seriously you will not regret using Chestnut and Vine for your wedding.
Her arrangements have an organic, artsy, unique, and tasteful look. At one of my friend’s weddings, she incorporated artichoke flowers into the bouquets. At my other friend’s wedding she used lots of branches for the chuppah and she found gorgeous vintage looking vases for the table arrangements. At the most recent wedding, we realized that we were short one bouquet. Svenja was back literally within ½ hour of calling her on the day of with an additional bouquet which was just as gorgeous. She seems so calm and easy to work with, what a great vendor! Look no furthur!

It doesn’t get better than Svenja!
Svenja and her team brought my floral dreams to life for my June wedding. We met with 4 or 5 other florists before meeting with Svenja, (Which in retrospect was pretty silly because everyone we spoke with raves about her!) but once we met Svenja we knew she had to be our florist.
Svenja is a rare combination of being extremely professional, personal, and creative. We were planning our wedding long distance, but this never got in Svenja’s way. She was easy to work with over email and by phone and was always very accommodating of our schedule when we were able to make it to the Bay Area. What I loved about Svenja is that she just gets people; within minutes of meeting her I felt that she totally understood my style and my vision. She had such amazing ideas and wasn’t afraid to share her opinions on what would look best at our wedding. There are so many details when planning a wedding and Svenja and her team truly know the ins and outs of all of them (from selecting the color of our table cloths, to the best shape of mirror to have beneath our floral arrangements.)
The day of our wedding Svenja and her team had me floored. The bouquets she delivered to me and my bridesmaids were even more stunning than I had dreamed, right down to their ribbons! It was peony perfection! Everything from the centerpieces to the urns beside the aisle were styled to perfection and beyond. You could really tell that the Chestnut and Vine team had put a lot of love into the work they had done.
I am so grateful that we were able to work with Chestnut and Vine, they are truly spectacular!

Svenja did such an AMAZING job at our wedding last September! She was a pleasure to work with and truly works magic with her bouquets and arrangements. We ordered the wedding party bouquets, boutonnieres, flower girl bouquets and headbands, mother wristlets, and reception arrangements with Svenja and she did not disappoint! Our caterer recommended her and I had no idea what to expect. When we met with her, she seemed to understand our style and, knowing very little about flowers, I trusted her to execute it. She absolutely exceeded our expectations. I have never seen such beautiful and unique arrangements EVER and am looking for some excuse to hire her again :)
