Classic Autobody is as good as it gets!
My insurance company was trying to total my car and Classic Autobody saved it. They worked with the insurance company to get the correct estimate for the car and went above and beyond to get my car looking great. They even fixed some things that were not a part of the accident.
I can’t say enough good things about Classic Autobody. Really nice people, they do fast work and they will make sure you get what you pay for (or not pay for if you can get insurance to do it)!

I didn’t notice it for a couple days, but someone backed into my parked car and VOILA a big dent in my front bumper. I thought about just living with it, but it was a pretty big dent. I got referred to Classic Autobody. I drive a Toyota Corolla and when I got there, I was a little intimidated by all the more expensive cars in their shop. But, Steve came out right away and looked at the dent. Less than $ 200 for heat and hammering it out. $ 800 for a new bumper. They had a full schedule for several days/​weeks, but they squeezed me in to do the lower cost repair. Is it perfect? No, but it looks so much better than it was. If you don’t really stare at the left bumper (why would you?) you wouldn’t notice. I got really taken care of and got really straight answers. I’m happy. My Corolla is happy.

Classic Autobody… Remember that name for when you need bodywork done on your car! If I could give more than five stars I would.
My mechanics at Tomas Sport Tuning recommended Classic Autobody for the insurance work (rear bumper) I needed on my car. I’d been rear-​ended by an 18-​year-​old whose mom’s insurance company agreed was 100% liable. After all the dealings with the insurance company I arranged for an estimate from Classic that was at a convenient time. Their location is convenient, too, right off Gilman. They said the insurance company low-​balled me, and that even though the agent had said to call them if there was a disagreement he said they’d take care of that for me. He explained that they’d remove the bumper, call to have another estimate made, send the bumper out for repair, then paint it in-​shop. He set an appointment for me, told me the car would be there about a week, and they called the insurance agent on my behalf, along with forwarding all the information to Enterprise so I could have the insurance company pay for the car rental, too. I couldn’t believe how easy they were making it for me, so called in advance of the appointment to make sure I didn’t have to do anything else. I didn’t! I arrived a few minutes late due to traffic on the morning of my car’s drop-​off. Several people were already waiting in the office and I became worried that I’d be even later to work than anticipated. Most of them had already been taken care of and intake was super quick. They just said to cash the check from the insurance company and then pay them that amount when I picked the car up; insurance would take care of the difference. We all piled into the Enterprise van that arrived a couple minutes after I did. (That experience was super quick and easy, also!) Everything went so swimmingly that I called Classic and Enterprise mid-​week to make sure things were going okay; everything was just too easy! Everything was fine. Boy, are these all a bunch of patient people! On Thursday I received a call letting me know my car was ready and to see when I’d be able to pick it up. I dropped off my rental and decided to take a walk down to Classic. I rounded the corner and there was my car sticking out of the driveway, gleaming in new paint and freshly washed, even the tyres had been polished! Sam and Cynthia are a great office duo. It was fun talking cars with Sam and Cynthia made one hell of a webpage. Their customer service is beyond anything I’d expect «these days.» I even got a thank you card a few days ago! Indeed, the only expense I was liable for throughout was the Golden Gate Bridge toll from the rental. I had to laugh and was thrilled a couple weeks later when I met the owner of Classic and his son at Sonoma Raceway. We shared stories about common car friends we know in the neighborhood. Great people, fun racers!

JG audio recommended this place to me so I made an appointment to see what the cost would be to fix the scratches on my bumper. Sam helped me and was very honest when he said that touching up the scratches wouldn’t be worth it since that area on the car and the area we live in, bumpers get messed up all the time. He recommended I go to the dealership and obtain a tube of paint and try to fix it up myself. Although I didn’t have my car serviced there, I appreciated their honesty. They could have taken my money (1,800) had they wanted to. Will definitely go back there as they are honest.

These guys rock! Bought a car that was in excellent condition, two weeks later someone smashed into the front of it messing up the bumper and quarter panel. Classic was amazing. They took care of everything, and my car came out looking like new. They are hands down the best in the business.

I had an excellent experience. Samuel was awesome to work with. He was courteous and very knowledgeable. I had some damage to my passenger doors and they made it look like it the damage never happened. The paint looked exactly like the rest of the car on my 11 hear old BMW. Thank you!

What can I say? Classic Autobody exemplifies what a competent automotive body shop should strive for: Taking good care of people who have damaged something they care about, their precious mechanical friend, their personal automobile (or business vehicle). I happen to own a busy independent auto repair shop in Berkeley and after 35 years of referring customers to one body shop or another with varying to miserable results, one day a lovely woman named Cynthia walked in and asked us if we were looking for a better referral. We were given a tour by her dad Steve, one of the owners and knew this place was special. Since then we have sent scores of people their way and we finally know our customers are very satisfied because they tell us how good the experience was at Classic. Whether insurance is backing them up or paying out of pocket, Classic finds a way to relieve the concern about explaining the process and producing the results we all want when we get our cars back. I have personally experienced it when the back of my CRZ was torn up by a power roll up door and Classic returned that repair looking perfect. Cynthia and Sam gave me good advice on the curing process for paint and made my day with the detailed cleaning included. Hire them with confidence !

I’ve been to this body shop twice. They did a great job on my Subaru each time. I’m not sure how economical they are because I didn’t shop around (the insurance of the dudes who rear-​ended me paid for it), but it is definitely a professional outfit. I worked with Sam, a friendly, knowledgeable guy and good communicator. The only negative experience I had was when they didn’t give advance notice that my ride wouldn’t be ready at the agreed-​upon pick up time. I was pretty annoyed losing two hours on a workday, but I interacted a lot with Classic during these two repair jobs, and I feel like this oversight was an anomaly. Five stars.

Incredibly helpful and upfront when I first talked to them on the phone about cost and things to consider before making decisions about my car and its delamination. Very impressed with their customer service!

So our 10 year old Prius had most of its front end moved to a new configuration by an Über driver. We were holding our breath that the damage didn’t exceed the value of our beloved, super low-​mileage car when we were introduced to this body shop.
Let’s hear a big Amen for nice employees, great owners and quality repair work! Our car looks better than it has in years.
We’re back tooling around town in our fully repaired car, crossing our fingers never to be Ubered again. (To be fair, Über has been very stand-​up about accepting liability.)

This Guys really did a good job, I brought my car in and they were able to get it like new, if I need this kind of service again surely I will come back to Classic Autobody. I feel comfortable with them, they have a really good price, and the time to complete the job is not bad. Hopefully I won’t be involved in some situation that required their service, but if this happen will visit them. You have to try them. I gave them four stars because I feel they lost one when was time to explain details of the job.

Service orientated… nice people and helpful… but had to wait 5 weeks for the parts to be in place. something about the factory parts were coming in wrong… thank goodness the insurance took care of the auto rental fees…

The best, most reliable autobody shop around. This is my 3^rd time using them. It’s comforting to have the feeling that if your car were their car they couldn’t take care of it any better than they’re doing. In other words, you can have complete trust and confidence here. Not to mention everyone is exceptionally nice.

My little MINI got dinged up from an errant safety cone on the freeway. Thankfully, a trusted car expert friend recommended Classic Autobody. «If you want quality, this is the place», he said. Heeding his words, I took my MINI here rather than to Geico’s partner autobody place in SF. Immediately, I was reassured of my decision when Chris (one of the owners) informed me of the sub par quality part for which my adjuster had based his estimate and what I presume would have been used elsewhere. My MINI was returned to me back in its former spiffy shape (paint matched perfectly) and washed and cleaned too! Even when I realized two of my lights were burned out after picking it up, Steve (the other brother) fixed me up without delay. Like for plumbers, contractors, and dentists, it’s always best to get a recommendation for a mechanic/​autobody from a trusted friend. Otherwise in the words of Forrest Gump, «You never know what you’re going to get!». With such a positive experience, I would now consider Classic Autobody as a trusted friend too!

I was very –very pleased after they repaired my bumper on my car. It was perfect! Chris and Steven take pride in what they do and obviously very knowledgeable. I would very recommend them.

It is always reassuring to know that you and your property will be taken care of by professionals. That has been my experience with Classic Auto Body. The most recent work was accomplished just a few weeks ago. The results surpassed my expectations. I have had work done on my Porsche by two other auto body shops. The work performed by them was below parr. Perhaps on part with a common customer. One whom doesn’t notice gaps and lines. It is a detail that is not missed by Classic Auto Body. I left in my ride feeling more than satisfied with the quality of work on my car and the service provided by their experienced staff. They are the first and only shop I would refer to my friends.

I LOVE the way my car was repaired and the attention given to little scratches here and there that were not part of the job request. When I pick it up it was spick and span clean too. Much appreciated. The dent was gone and the paint match perfect.
These people are nice, and excellent and they CARE about cars.

Took my car in again a couple of months ago (3^rd accident caused by someone else!) and the work and service were impeccable again!

They took great care in fixing my Honda Civic quickly, painlessly, and I am extremely grateful to them.
Not only did they fix the damage to my Honda but they also washed my car! It looks as new as when I drove i out of the showroom!
