I am in a satellite office, far away from our east coast tech support team. Having Matt as part of my local team has been such a relief. Just this week, he helped me navigate an incredibly ill-​timed hardware issue with my (PC) laptop. He also assisted me with an office move where he set up all of my technology — including a personal secure network — in just a few hours. Matt is very responsive (email and phone), very reliable, and very reasonable/​ethical in his billing practices. I sleep well knowing he is there for me the next time my tech world goes awry.
PS — my office is in Sausalito — don’t let the «East Bay» part of the name of the business fool you.

This is a late review, but we felt that it was still necessary.
We hired Matt from East Bay Tech to come in an repair some technical and network problems we were having and to do some basic organization. Not only did this not happen, we were also charged three times the amount that we were originally quoted. Matt spent a huge amount of time doing something that should have taken just a few short hours, did not fix our problems, made a huge mess of our cords (when in fact we had brought him in to fix and organize them) and left us with two problems we didn’t have to begin with.
The worst part of all was that when we spoke with him about all of the above, and the fact that we spent alot of money but nothing was really done to fix our initial problems he offered us a discount as long as we signed a confidentiality contract stating that we would NOT give him a bad review (Just goes to show how honest and truthful he really is), he did not even offer to come back in and fix the problem. We were left to repair his mess on our own.
We would not recommend his services to anyone in the future and hope that he will now pay more attention to the needs of his customers.

After weeks of struggling with the network in our business, I decided it was time to call for help. I found reviews for East Bay Tech Service on Unilocal,and and immediately called and left a message. I had a call back from Jason within a few minutes, and set the appointment for just two days later. Jason was really helpful. I thought I had sorted out all the cables, switches, router, and modem, but clearly not well enough. Jason traced multiple cables throughout our two floors, eliminated the unused ones, and set up our network to run properly. We have a wired and wireless set-​up, and he set up the secure POS terminals and printers to work on our wired ethernet, and our cameras, music, and less important devices to run wirelessly. This was the perfect solution, and now everything is running smoothly again.
He also gave us advice for the future, but did not try to push additional services or products that we did not need. I really appreciate that Jason was willing to crawl around on the ground and sort out all the cables that had created a somewhat chaotic network over the years. He was in and out in two hours and worked really hard. I thought the price was reasonable for experienced IT help.
I am now secure in the knowledge that we have someone to call with any future network additions or problems.

I highly recommend East Bay Tech. East Bay Tech is the kind of IT help everyone needs on speed dial. Matt is confident, professional, highly skilled, and simply nails customer service. I can be pretty geeky but when I spilled an entire glass of water on my laptop at 4 am six days ago I lost all analog and digital intelligence. After kicking myself a hundred times, I went on Unilocal and found East Bay Tech. I contacted him first thing in the morning and he calmly talked me through my crisis. He immediately backed up my hard drive (yea, I didn’t do that but he didn’t judge, either!) and told me to stick the whole thing in a bag of rice for a few days. My livelihood depends on my laptop and I was able to use my old laptop for a few days until he drenched one fired up this morning. I have tried other computer services companies and found that there was always a big learning curve with most of them (which the client ends up paying more for all of the extra time). On the other hand, Matt and his company are very knowledgeable, and they work quickly and effectively to solve any computer issue. Matt is also very capable at understanding the latest and greatest technology. He was able to help me with my Google Glass developer kit and teach me how to use various applications. I was so happy with his help that I recently had him come back to help me set up my Oculus Rift Developer 2.0 kit. Matt’s prices are very fair and he works extremely hard to make sure that he has solved all of the issues needed. East Bay Tech Service is definitely worth the five star rating.

East Bay Tech Service is AWESOME!!! Matt is very friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He showed up when he said he would and worked really quickly! We had nothing but frustration with AT&T and a modem upgrade. Once they upgraded the modem (that they insisted be upgraded) they left our network and internet not working! We called Matt for help and he was REALLY REALLY helpful and got both our network and internet up and running. The next day, our internet was somewhat spotty, I called him and he was more than happy to assist me over the phone to make it work properly and also gave me some helpful suggestions. I needed a server guy, and called some companies in my area, but no luck to find linux server expert! after contacted one of the companies in Sac they recommended a list of companies and East Bay Tech Service was one of them that had experience with my system! so I called them and Matt answer the phone with confident, had a feeling he is my guy… although his rate was over I thought, but I went for it. We set the appointment to do the job. at that day he showed up at the exact time. Thanks!

I’m not a regular customer. I was just calling around to find a place that could look at a computer that no longer powers up. Bad power supply perhaps. He (Matt?) helped me diagnose the problem over the phone! Very helpful and very easy to communicate with.

I called east bay tech service last week in quite a tizzy. I had just completed a new computer build and was immediately getting BSOD upon boot. Within minutes, Matt called me back and after a 15 minute diagnostic had determined the solution. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and as a tech-​oriented person I can’t recommend him higher. If your problem is big or small, this is the service you’ll want to call.

I’m not even a regular customer of Matt’s, but when I called last week about a problem that I was having with my Outlook not opening, he was kind enough to call me back an walk me through a number of solutions. After geryrigging our internet connection to get it to work and then having my 13 year old daughter splice and dice her computer to feed off the crippled network connection the poor thing finally gave out and we were sans internet connection. So we called Matt in a panic and he showed up the next morning right at the appointed time, we anxiously explained what we had all done to try to «fix» the internet connection, he calmly went to work and within an hour reestablished our original network connection, and set it up so all 3 of our computers would be networked, and even fixed my printer so it would finally print and scan. His calm sweet manner were truly disarming and put us right at ease and the efficiency in which he fixed the problems were truly amazing. I agree with the previous Unilocaler– Matt is the man!

Finally, after years of searching, hundreds of dollars blown on so called «computer experts», who have created more computer messes then I had before they came. I finally actually found someone who knows what they are doing!
Matt from East Bay Tech Service is my new go to guy for all my MAC dilemmas… he knows the machine, he knows the software, he knows Google, he knows how to listen and be patient with someone like me… the «I hate this thing» computer user.
At the end of my Google fix-​it session he went over what was done, what could be expected, what we accomplished by the session and what we have to work on next time. And, best of all, he set up some SEO things on my blog that I didn’t even know existed, like authorship of my blog articles and my photo coming up every time some one Googles me.
