Specialties

The Foundation of the Sacred Stream offers a core set of workshops in Depth Hypnosis, Applied Shamanism, Applied Buddhist Psychology, Integrated Energy Medicine and Empowered Living. It also hosts a concert series and guest lectures series. Past participants have included Dr. Robert Thurman, Geshe Thupten Jinpa, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, and Grammy nominees Barbara Higbie, Liz Story, and Jane Siberry. Through these programs, the Foundation seeks to make these traditions more accessible to the community and empower individuals, like you, to experience themselves and the world in new ways.

History

Established in 2002.

The Foundation of the Sacred Stream is a non-​profit organization for consciousness studies dedicated to bringing the wisdom of ancient cultures and spiritual traditions into a modern context. Sacred Stream brings many remarkable thinkers, teachers and spiritual leaders to the Bay Area, and offers workshops and training in a variety of disciplines.

I have been working with Isa and the Foundation of the Sacred Stream since before they were The Foundation. I will say; the information, learnings and teachings keep getting better, deeper and more intriguing.
Isa has a way of bringing «original» thought onto the planet and a way of encouraging each person to bring out his/​her original thought, feeling emotion as well. Its amazing! and everyone’s opinion is equally valid and valued… ahhh. how great is that.

Finding the Sacred Steam and Isa Gucciardi saved my life… so much so that I’ve taken almost every class she offers at least once and have become a Depth Hypnosis Practitioner.
Isa is a true healer in the sense that she helped me find my own inner wisdom so that I have the tools to heal myself.
I have seen Isa in a classroom setting, for private therapy, and on destination trips for up to two weeks. I can honestly say that she lives with the highest level of integrity, honesty, and clarity that I’ve ever experienced.
If you are suffering and want to take responsibility for your life and truly change (or get back to the person who you were really meant to be), go to FSS. It will change your life!

I love the Foundation of the Sacred Stream. I’ve been a student of Isa Gucciardi for years, and whether it be an individual appointment or a group class (such a dream studies, shamanic journeying, etc) I find the time stimulating, challenging, and rewarding. Her kindness, wisdom, and responsibility as a bodhisattva continually shines through.
If you’re intent on understand yourself and the nature of our existence, wanting to break through walls (socially or personally), and are looking for pathways towards meaningful healing — look no further.

The Foundation of the Sacred Stream is an amazing community, and my involvement with it has created positive transformation in my life. The classes on Buddhism, applied Shamanism, relationships, etc. are very educational, healing and directly applicable to day-​to-​day life. Isa Gucciardi, Sacred Stream’s director and teacher of the classes, is an incredibly intelligent, compassionate and wise individual, and her integrity and knowledge of the material really come through. And now they even have podcasts. The more I do with Sacred Stream, the more I want to do.

The sanctuary at the Sacred Space Center is beautiful. The main room is large and light filled, with large stained glass windows and a beautiful altar. The space is truly magical and would be a fantastic space for any special event like a wedding, baptism, blessing way or funeral. There is a lovely garden in the back. The center also offers minister services for those needing a celebrant or those wanting help creating a ceremony. It is a special place!

I truly can not say enough about how impressive the Foundation of the Sacred Stream is. The level of integrity of Isa Gucciardi, the founder, as well as the community as a whole, is impeccable. I am a reluctant «joiner» mostly because I outgrow quickly organizations or teachers, but have found at the Foundation, a level of teaching that challenges and strengthens me as fully as I am willing to show up.
If you are seeking to find ways to broaden your perspective on life and deepen your relationship to yourself and the world at large, coursework at the Foundation of the Sacred Stream will fully support that desire, and move you far beyond it.

I have been taking classes at the Foundation of the Sacred Stream for quite a few months now, and I love it !! This is an absolutely amazing school, and it has changed my life in so many wonderful ways. I am taking the Depth Hypnosis Practitioner Program, and all of the classes are transformative and healing. — I have also found it to be a wonderfully supportive community in which I have made many friends. This school is great, and I highly recommend it for anyone wishing to expand themselves as a person!

I can not say enough wonderful things about the The Foundation of the Sacred Stream. I started taking classes a few years ago, and my life has done nothing but change for the better. My entire life, I was looking for the «right» community, teachings, and therapist It was until coming to the Foundation that I found all of the things I was looking for in one community.
The amount of integrity and thoughtfulness that is woven into each class is amazing. Plus, the material that is taught is life changing. There are so many classes to choose from ranging from Energy Medicine, to Shamanism, to Buddhism. I use the teachings I have learned here everyday as they help me stay grounded and connected to spirit.

These classes genuinely offer reliable, practical and helpful tools. The instructor, Isa Gucciardi, PhD, has a fresh and participant empowering approach to healing that you can’t get everywhere.
They have many free talks and events so you can check it out before taking the classes. You can also repeat classes as often as you’d like for a 10% fee.

The classes mostly take place in San Francisco, but they also teach nationally and internationally. There are several retreats coming up in Scotland, Costa Rica and Hawaii… check out their ‘destination studies’ section if you are interested.
