Specialties
Upscale custom picture framing and readymade frames
History
Established in 1974.
Frame-O-Rama opened its first store in 1974 in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood. It was not long before three other stores were opened in neighboring cities: Mill Valley, Berkeley, and Burlingame.
Frame-O-Rama has been custom framing art for savvy Bay Area clients for almost 40 years. We specialize in helping each customer enhance the beauty of their art and express their own unique style. No two pieces of art are the same, and neither is the framing treatment. The final product is always unique and gives the customer a great deal of personal pride.
The art of Custom Picture Framing is a collaboration of our customer’s vision, high-quality products, and the creativity and engineering of our highly-trained staff.
We look forward to working with you.
Meet the Business Owner
Peter G.
Business Owner
In 1974, San Francisco businessman Peter Gumina, as a result of his personal experience looking for accessible and affordable picture framing, opened his own SF frame shop. He called this store «Frame-O-Rama» and its do-it-yourself format was just what the customers were looking for. Within a few years, other store locations were opened in Burlingame, Mill Valley, and right here in Berkeley.
Peter was attuned to the changing needs of his client base through the years, and the original do-it-yourself format eventually turned into a full-service custom frame business, offering almost unlimited specialty custom framing and excellent design and customer service.
Now in its 39th year in business, the family-owned and operated, San Francisco based company remains under Peter’s guidance and is considered the Bay Area’s premier custom picture framer.
