GREAT PLACE. A man helped us, unfortunately I forgot his name, but he seemed like the owner. Me and my friend came in on a Friday morning kind of clueless trying to buy pipes and the guy helped us with so much ease! He was very nice and answered all of our questions (there were a lot!). He didn’t seem intimidating and didn’t have a problem with us asking for something less expensive.
Their glass pipes are STURDY. Even the cheaper selection. The guy threw it on the floor to prove this point and it didn’t even crack! They have a GREAT selection of pipes from basic color changing ones to ones even shaped like animals!!! They also have a huge selection of bongs and I was tempted to buy one just because of the great service!
Five stars and I WILL visit again!

Purchased a vaporizer. Battery was not holding a charge very long. Tried to return it less than a week later. Wouldn’t take it back. First and last time I shop here.

I purchased a 2.125 inch diameter 4 — piece SANTA CRUZ SHREDDER for $ 76.30 ($ 69.99 + tax). I would’ve given 4 stars but they didn’t have gun metal grey, the color I really wanted.

Lovely store. The guy in there is super duper nice! He gave me two pipe for 20 $ and he threw it on the ground to test it and it didn’t break. Omg! Love this place! I highly recommend this place to everyone. He also explain everything and tell you what is good and what’s not.

My friend and I went to Berkeley to get some Salvia. I usually just go to Hi-​Times to get this stuff and they usually give me discounts. When we went we bought some 60x level of Salvia and it was $ 60 and offering no discounts. My friend and I had to split the amount. Then she bought a bong case for $ 35, also with no discounts. it was final. Then we went a couple doors down to Big Al’s to buy her a bong, and then went to Whalen’s to buy me one. One of the workers at Whalen’s notcied that my friend ws holding a bong bag and asked how much she spent on it and where she bought it from. She told him and he said that you spent too much on it, and he said he would’ve sold it to her for $ 20. Then we said we bought Salvia from there too. He said that we spent way too much and bought shitty stuff. Whalen’s had more natural and less pricey. They told us to go back and get our money back. So, we did that and didn’t know that we couldn’t return our items. The guys working there, I assume the owner and another guy, had said that they don’t give refunds and they know that we’re pursuaded to buy the same items from other stores. We claimed that it wasn’t true, because we didn’t want to make a bigger deal out of it. But we did want our money back and they weren’t giving it to us. There were small signs on the displays that said «No Refunds», but were not very visible.
So, we left and went to Big Al’s to ask them if they don’t do returns too, and they don’t but they were nice about it… unlike Hi-​Times. Then we went to Whalen’s and told them what happened. They said that Hi-​Times has done refunds before but have been very selective. Uhh. wtf!!! Now we know not to ever go back to Hi-​Times.

My boyfriend and I came in here tonight to look for a new rig. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly owner, Casey. He asked us what we were looking for, and what our price range was. He then proceeded to show us many, many pieces. He really took his time and made sure we were well taken care of. Left with a new rig, titanium nail, & carb cap!
If you want friendly service, and good deals on beautiful glass– hit up Hi-​Times!

Whatever you do, do NOT go to this store. They put a price on something that is worth a fraction of what they’re asking for and then they pretend to haggle with you and give you a discount to make you think that you’re getting a good deal, and in reality they’re ripping you off. I recommend Big Al’s. Really nice people there and FAIR PRICES.

Talk to the man & he can hook it up. I paid $ 120 for what was tagged as over $ 200 in merchandise. All good quality! My Santa Cruz shredder never leaves my side.

Bought a ceramic nail and globe for the pen style vaporizers. It broke after its first use. I brought it back and I was refused replacement or compensation. Pretty disappointed with the customer service.

The best people work here. Every visit has been nothing but a pleasure. I always end up leaving with so much more than I pay for! Definitely check out hi times for all your smoking needs.

They’re always willing to negotiate with customers, so you can get some really great prices. Also they’re much more respectful than any of the other smoke shops next to it.

Came into hi times today in search of a clear medium sized bong. The people that work there were very friendly and answered any questions I had. They have a large selection of bongs, pipes and just about everything else a smoke shop should have! Well I left hi times with a medium sized glass bong with an ice chamber for a great price. The employees packaged the bong in a box for me. I’m a very satisfied costumer and definitely be back!

Love this place!!! Great selection, great locations and great service, a bit pricey but great QUALITY :) They also have cool deals!

I am from San Jose & drove up to Berkeley to eat at (house of curries) afterwards I took a stroll and this shop caught my eye. I’m a hookah fanatic so I was impressed with their vast and unique hookah sets. I got a new Sahara hookah set and the owner hooked it up! I posted a pic of my black hookah set with snake skin detailing. It also camwle with a pimped out hose covered in velvet. owner through in a sweet metal case with compartments & foam cushion, tobacco, coals, tongs. Probably would normally cost $ 175 and up! Only paid $ 100. Was so happy with the set & service. Landon they salesperson was cool so we tipped him. I would drive from San Jose to Berkeley just to buy another set from these awesome people :) 5 stars *****

I went here a few weeks ago with a friend of mine, looking for a small pipe as a gift for my secret santa exchange.
When I walked in, they were very nice and respected me when I said that I was just looking. They had a lot of different styles and designs and I could spend all day just looking at each piece.
I ended up buying three pipes from a small container under the glass filled with «generic» pipes, clear with some little design in them. Originally, they were $ 8 each, but I was able to get three for $ 15 — great on my part!
Overall, I was very happy with the purchase, staff and merchandise — and I even plan on returning soon for another piece!

Salesmen, but who isn’t? Can’t hate on the hustle. Yes, they do have «sales» here. And yes, you can probably get them to give it to you for cheaper. It’s not my style, but I have already managed to get 2 pipes from here already. The less expensive ones are about $ 10 — $ 15 (perhaps when they’re on «sale»).
This shop is definitely more quiet compared to Big Al’s down the street. I guess those boys over there are the cool kids, but I’m not writing this place off just yet =) I will be back the next time I’m looking for a gift of this nature.

There is a wide selection of pipes, cigarette cases, and anything else a stoner might need. It will be hard not buy something, especially when the staff makes such great offers and recommendations.
