Katie and Mark are cofounders and principals of The Lederer Team. We are an award winning Bay Area real estate listing and purchasing team, that has consistently been Red Oak Realty’s Top Producing Team Company wide. Our team has performed nationally in the top 1% for the last 11 years. We have been responsible for over $ 200,000,000 in successful residential, investment and raw land transactions.

Business Owner

Katie’s career began as a property manager for a management company overseeing 300 plus apartment units in Northern California. Katie also held management positions in the venture capital industry and has been responsible for the integration of million dollar mergers and acquisitions in the high technology field.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis. Katie is also a California Certified Residential Income Property Manager.

Before real estate, Mark served as a Media/​Art Director for one of the Bay Area’s largest real estate advertising firms. His creative work was accredited by his client’s noteworthy results and national awards given by the advertising industry. Mark now pioneers advertising for his real estate sales clients assuring them the maximum exposure and highest sales prices in their local areas.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Design with an emphasis on Managerial Economics.

Mark and Katie and their team exemplify the very best in the world of realtors. I have dealt with a number of realtors and always felt «okay» with the transitions, but until I worked with Katie and Mark I didn’t know what a huge difference there would be. I cannot think of a single thing Katie and Mark could have done better in managing the sale of my Marina Bay home. From their marketing plan and materials, to working through the upgrades and staging of my property to maximize its appeal to buyers, to helping me analyze the several offers, all the way to the final signing – they were with me all the way. No question went unanswered, no detail was overlooked; communication was clear and timely throughout the transaction. They are true professionals and they bring enormous experience, great business savvy, and, most important, a high level of integrity to their work. I would do another transaction with them in a heartbeat. I recommend them highly and I wish them continued success – they deserve it!

Albany, CA
As good as it gets, don’t hesitate to contact this excellent team! Mark and Katie helped my husband and I to buy our first home in Albany in 2003. We weren’t looking in Albany, but as we were all in the car checking out various homes around Oakland and Berkeley, they had mentioned Albany as a great town with good schools. That comment got my attention and they ended up helping us buy a cute starter home in Albany, sealing the deal before it even had an open house! Anyhow, fast-​forward to this past summer 2015 when I saw a house in Albany that was for sale in my dream location and I knew I had to come in strong. So, I called the Lederer’s. Long story short, didn’t get that house (came in 2nd though!) but not even 2 weeks later, Mark presented an off market listing in Albany in my dream location that we wrote an offer on. Though the process was definitely a little stressful because of details that we were aware of going in, the sale did go through and I cannot tell you how grateful I am to The Lederer’s! In this terrible market of all cash, no contingencies offers, I bought the house of my dreams, thanks to working with Mark and Katie! Simply put, they are smart, down to earth, thoughtful, super efficient, up to date and aware of the market and make a very strong team that produce awesome results!

Highly recommended! While I should have written this review earlier, it’s been six wonderful months since Mark Lederer and his team at Red Oak Realty helped us buy our first home. He’s native to the East Bay and we believe his reputation as a top producer is well earned.
As someone else already said, excuse me from gushing. There really aren’t enough superlatives to describe this amazing realtor. But here goes…
As refugees from the City we benefitted from Mark’s intensely individualized approach to helping us win a highly competitive bidding process, and subsequently close the deal, on a home with almost 20 other offers. Our bid wasn’t the highest, but it was the best thanks to Mark Lederer. He is a highly skilled real estate professional who is obviously passionate about his role. When other realtors where clearly not interested in helping us first time home buyers, Mark was genuinely engaged, and eager to help, by sharing his knowledge without driving a personal agenda to sell is the first property possible. He is ethical and I trust him without reservation.
During the process Mark was incredibly responsive to our needs, returning phone calls, answering emails, and replying to texts. He generously spent many hours driving around neighborhoods, educating us, and answering our questions. Although he’s a successful realtor (with undoubtedly bigger clients than us), he spent many hours during the his busiest days showing us property. Between those days, he would send us listings that he thought would interest us. I really can’t shower enough praise upon him because he helped us obtain what I thought we be unobtainable.
Mark also offers a concierge promise that has been repeatedly delivered by financial advisors, electricians, plumbers, and insurance brokers who have helped us sort out a myriad of needs – before and after the sale.
First time buyer, or sitting on a fat capital, you can be assured that Mark Lederer will deliver the best service possible.

I cannot speak highly enough about Mark and Katie Lederer. We were first time home buyers and we felt overwhelmed by the whole process and didn’t know where to start. We met Mark at an Open House in Oakland and struck up a conversation. When he found out we were first time buyers just starting our search he lit up and eagerly offered to help us.
We talked on the phone the next day and really discussed what we wanted (types of houses, neighborhoods, price ranges, etc). He asked very good questions and really paid attention to our answers.
That next weekend he took us out to see 5 – 6 houses and spent lots of time in each one explaining both the good aspects and flaws of the house. It really helped having his perspective and expertise. He listened to all our questions and concerns. We didn’t feel rushed or pressured to pick a house. He made it clear he wanted us to find the right house no matter if it took six days or six months.
On the second week of searching we found the perfect house in San Leandro and decided to put in our first offer. Mark was essential in helping us put together the most attractive offer we could for the buyers. And we won the bid and just moved into our dream house today! We know this process would not have been this smooth without the expert service we received.
We also appreciate Mark and Katie’s concierge service. Mark has been invaluable in helping us find contractors for plumbing, electrical and handyman services, even calling and making appointments and securing proposals and bids for us.
Mark and Katie go above and beyond the call of duty. We found more than just a buyers agent. We made lifelong friends!

Katie and Mark were completely disrespectful of neighbors while showing their open house listing… we politely requested of Katie to ask prospective buyers not to park in clearly-​marked resident parking spaces, and she either did not do anything about it or was totally ineffectual. Appear inexperienced in handling basic open house logistics.

My husband and I were total novices at the real estate game and we were searching for an agent to help us buy our first house. To boot, we have very different personalities – he’s very laid back and I am more of a detail person who wants to know every tiny detail. So it was hard to imagine we’d find a good fit for both of us. We also were not really at the top of the price range, had some specific requirements, and did not want to be pressured.
But, we were thrilled when we found Mark and Katie. They truly went above and beyond for us in every possible way. They were the perfect fit for us as a couple – answering all my detailed questions but also able to put us both at ease and take care of things for us as needed. They took time to explain things about houses and point out potential problems as we looked at houses and we really felt they were on our team. We never felt rushed into making an offer and were able to take our time and find the right house.
During and after the buying process, they also helped direct us to the best people in the business – whether for the home inspection or for people to help us do repairs or remodel later. For my husband and I this was a life saver. They helped us find reputable people and get solid quotes during the inspection period so we’d know just how much we would be spending to «fix up» our house. While there was never any pressure to use these folks, it felt good knowing these were people Mark and Katie used on their own houses.
Mark and Katie are honest, direct, kind, and very professional. We were thrilled and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone buying a house in the East Bay. We’ll definitely use them again ourselves too!

Please forgive me for gushing, but I absolutely must let the world know about Katie and Mark Lederer. They were referred to us by a friend and are truly my heroes.
My wife and I were nervous about buying our first home and didn’t feel like we had any idea what we were doing. Mark and Katie held our hand throughout the entire process, making sure we understood each step along the way. They always listened to what we had to say, and returned our phone-​calls in minutes rather than days. They are intimately familiar with all the neighborhoods in the East Bay, and helped us figure out not only what kind of house we needed, but also what neighborhood we wanted to be in.
They have many connections that helped out along the way. They were able to put us in touch with trustworthy friends to help with everything from financial planning & loans to electricians, plumbers, and even a guy that does granite countertops for cheap!
My wife and I are now getting settled in our first home and we owe it all to Mark & Katie. We found a 2 bedroom on the border of Albany and El Cerrito, and managed to purchase it for $ 10K below asking price after it had only been on the market for 11 days!
