Leonardo Dacanay, MD established Bellevue Eye Medical Center in Downtown Berkeley to help serve the increasing demand for medical and surgical eye services in the area.

Leonardo Dacanay received his doctorate of medicine from the UCLA with multiple letters of distinction. He then continued his residency training at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

Dr. Dacanay has spent the last 5 years in private practice. Patients often describe Dr. Dacanay as affable, caring and thorough.

Dr. Dacanay enjoys rewarding doctor-​patient relationships and the challenge of treating a wide variety of disease states. He continues to give talks to optometrists, ophthalmologists and general physicians in the fields of glaucoma, dry eye and treatment of emergency room eye conditions to improve eye care methodologies. He also takes pride in his ability to obtain excellent surgical results in the realms of cataract and oculo-​plastic surgery. He is fluent in Spanish and partially fluent in Tagalog and Mandarin.
