Graduating NYU in 1970 with a degree in music, Macy Blackman has been a long time vocal and instrumental instructor and performer. Also a master piano technician, his clients have included Patti Smith, Oliver Lake, Rasheed Ali, and friend Keith Richards.

A renowned musicologist, Macy moved to San Francisco from New York in 2000 to teach courses at UC Berkeley. These courses explored major American musical styles of the 20^th century: rhythm and blues, swing, and classic jazz.

Excellent reviews and referrals are always available, as Macy Blackman, «The Piano Man», is well know throughout the bay area as a devoted and highly competent professional piano tuner and technician.

Macy is also a performer and band leader. His band is Macy Blackman and the Mighty Fines.
