I never post on Unilocal but I have to now because for the second time Yasmine gave me the best hair cut and dye ever. I was worried coming in cause I was looking for something different from the last cut and dye (although I was incredibly happy with the first time she did my hair) but she listened to what I had to say and suggested exactly what I was trying to say. I’ve never been one to stick with a hair stylist but she has changed my ways. I highly recommend her

Terra is the best! She gave me a chic a-​line bob with layers that blend effortlessly. Im not one to spend time on my hair on a daily basis, so she was creative in crafting a low-​maintainence short cut that looks professional and cute :) Highly recommended!

Still loving Katrina at Peter Thomas! Here’s what really keeps me coming back: if ever I’m not happy with how my hair comes out (slightly too brassy, bangs in my eyes too much), I just tell Katrina and she reworks it with no attitude till we get it right. Mature, good eye, nice person, great skills. I’ve tried a few other stylists, and they were great too and the salon really is fine if you move around to different folks to see what works best for you. Katrina is the best ‘fit’ for me. :-)

I usually go to Allison and have had a couple of good cuts but as many not-​so-​great ones. My most recent one will probably be my last visit with her. We talked about the cut, she had suggestions which she was positive would look great, but end result, they did not! And rather than fix it she said I would have to come in again and pay full price to fix it. I asked for a few adjustments right then which she did grudgingly and then said see, it’s not so bad. Well no, because I just made you fix some of it. I came home and actually cut my own hair to fix it. At the cost of $ 100 you would at least want to do what you can to to make sure your client leaves happy. (And way too much razoring?! What’s up with that?)

And if I could give Alison 10 stars I would!
Alison is an artist! I have fine, straight hair; it’s grey (though a nice silvery grey); and let’s just say I’m not as young as I used to be. All this means I’m not the easiest hair-​cut customer in this world. But Alison has made me feel nearly beautiful with the meticulous and insightful hair cuts she’s given me in the last year. She first worked on the short bob I had, and gave it a fine-​tuning that lifted my spirits and my looks. Then, when I decided to go back to the shorter hair I’d worn when I was younger, she gave me the finest new look, not extreme but stylish, all the while finding ways to make my hair do things I didn’t know it could.
In addition, Alison is the nicest person imaginable. She’s positive and upbeat; talks if you want but not if you don’t; cares about the world and her customers as well; and just being in her chair is a pleasure. She works patiently and painstakingly, getting every line just right — both for the style in question and for the hair she’s working on. Haircuts are expensive these days but one from Alison is worth every penny!
The salon, too, is a pleasant experience. It’s not too crowded, not too noisy, and the staff are friendly and not pushy. They greet you quickly, handle a ferociously busy phone with grace, offer you something to drink, and seem to make the full range of their clientele comfortable (men to women, young to old, hip to clueless (like me).

Just got my hair cut by Katie this morning and I really love what she did. I’ve been on the hunt for the right salon and stylist in the Bay Area and I feel like I’ve finally found the ones for me. Katie was so sweet and really understood the nature of my hair and what style I was going for. The end result was even better than what I had in mind. Goes to show how used to «one style fits all» cuts I am. She also let my hair dry naturally with a little bit of styling since that’s what I told her I usually do. So now I know exactly how it will look when I do it myself. I will definitely be back!

Shannon is my go to person at Peter Thomas! I’ve been seeing her for over a year and she nails my cut and color every single time! Definitely one of the best salons and stylists I’ve ever been to. Go see Shannon!

I’ve said it before and I will say it again… Katie is the BEST. I just cut my hair for the first time in a decade and I am so happy with my cut! All I told her is that I wanted my hair to look healthy again, and that I was willing to cut off five inches or so — and it came out better than I expected :) I have total trust in her eye.

Want to echo the sentiments of so many others. Have gone to Peter Thomas for over a decade and have followed many stylists who have left the nest. Stylist Katie is super sweet, talented, attuned and thoughtful. Alison can work wonders with short curly hair. Was disappointed by a recent cut but Peter responded with generosity and deep understanding.

My stylist was Katie. Very sweet and courteous and accommodating! I had a hypoglycemic episode and she spoiled me with some treats to mitigate the symptoms. I showed her a photo but she did my hair with much more flair. My hair is dry like the desert but she clipped it in all the right places and left it so much more healthier. I would definitely recommend her and I’m a tough sell.

I’ll admit it. I’ve been livingsocial deal hopping since my stylist quit about 4 years ago. It’s worked out overall until this one time… I ended up with the dreaded mom haircut. How one makes a long layered look mom-​like, I’m not sure, but trust me is wasn’t good.
I suffered with it for about a month then remembered the last cut I just loved was at Peter Thomas by Lynae. So I called for help. I’m so thankful I did. She was thoughtful, precise and totally fixed my hair.

Wow. Just back from this salon and I’m really happy with my cut! I had been loyal to another hair stylist at another salon for years and the salon just closed… so sad, but starting over! This is scary for me because my hair is not easy to manage. Katie immediately put me at ease. Super sweet and a good listener about my hair issues. I just got the most awesome hair-​cut ever from John! I went from boob length hair to an edgy short cut. It was my first time cutting my hair short (since I was 5! I’m not 30) and was stressed about it.

When I first became a client of Martha’s at Peter Thomas I had thin hair with little body; Martha cut it into a very cute bob — age appropriate — and low maintenance per my request. Since then I have had 3 bouts of cancer; chemotherapy’s result (hair loss, regrowth) transformed my hair into different hair types including curly, straight, courser, etc., not to mention various stages balding. With each iteration my hair has gone through, Martha has managed to cut it into an attractive style. When my hair loss was emanate, she cut it short in a way that the hair loss would be less shocking. It wasn’t until bald spots appeared that the cut ceased to be cute.
I am amazed at Martha’s versatility, imagination and talent. Having Martha help me look my best during this time has made all the difference in my outlook on life.

I found Martha at Peter Thomas years ago and I’ve never changed stylists since. She is the best — she knows me and knows my hair! Works fast and fun and I always look forward to having my haircut. Also, Martha has given great advice over the years for my many questions, like swimming pool hair, blow dying techniques, you name it.

Martha is the best hair stylist there is! She is the only one, who has been able to deal with my very straight and fine hair in a way that makes me happy. After she cuts it, it looks and feels great — I know it is perfect. I can’t thank her enough for her outstanding work.

This is a fabulous salon because the stylists are true artists. Also the owner Peter is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

I wanted to try this place and happened to see a Living Social deal for haircut + blow dry. The person on the phone was great, asking me questions about what I wanted from my cut, and squeezing me into a last minute appt. that same day.
My stylist, Katie, was amazing! Super sweet and friendly, but very meticulous, careful, and informative. You can tell she really cares about giving clients a quality experience. I will definitely come back here for future cut /​coloring needs!

Full disclosure: I am a pain-​in-​the-​ass client for most stylists as I am terrible with hair care and maintenance, an awkward conversationalist, and still struggle with fidgeting despite having two decades on a 6-​year old.
As a result, I had gone a year without even a trim and had built up a lovely 5 inches of split ends along with a strange affection for the baby dread near the nape of my neck.
Enter Amina. She was everything you want in a trusted hair adviser – patient, nonjudgmental, and willing to discuss all the pros and cons of whatever hair-​brained idea you’ve been toying with. She also takes the time to give you a cut that works for your look and your lifestyle.
She managed to maintain a longer length while still lobbing off the dead ends and updating my dated simple, center-​part to a nice side-​swept style that would still look good as my hair grew out over many months (she didn’t even force me to pretend I’d be coming in sooner).
She also recommended a product for my flaky scalp that actually worked!
The weirdest (most surprising?) thing I’ve noticed is that she’s also a very versatile artist – check out some of her coloring and short styles – which means if and when I’m ready to do something other than long, natural locks I don’t have to go through the ordeal of finding a different stylist.
