Sandra Ludlow, LAc MSOM – Acupuncture and Holistic Medicine

The 2-​months leading up to my foot surgery I was trying everything and anything to improve my general wellness and the overall condition of my feet, prior to the surgery. Besides needing surgery to repair tendons and ligaments as well as to clean-​up arthritis and remove a couple of bone spurs on my right foot, I was suffering from planters fantasia in my left foot. Sandy listened to all my complaints, I’m also peri-​menopausal, she was very sympathetic and came up with a treatment plan; first to get me ready for my surgery then to help with my other symptoms.
Sandy suggested a couple of changes in my diet and supplements and went to work on my feet. Over the next few weeks there was a noticeable improvement in my PF as well as less pain in my injured right foot. My overall mood improved with minor suggested lifestyle changes and regular acupuncture treatments. Now 5-​weeks post-​op my surgeon is very happy with my progress, I am nearly pain free and I am looking forward to returning to Sandy, once I can make it up those stairs again to continue improving my overall wellbeing.
My only reservation is there is a large steep flight of stair to reach Sandy’s office, so if you have limited mobility it may not be the best option for you, otherwise Sandy rocks.

Sandy is an exceptional practitioner. She has an incredible knowledge of the body and the most gentle way of treating her patients. Her space is beautiful: clam and soothing. I saw Sandy for my first acupuncture treatment almost 4 years ago when I was just six weeks pregnant. I began seeing her for weekly treatments throughout my entire pregnancy. She was extremely accommodating and helpful. I know I had an easy pregnancy because of my work with Sandy. My husband also saw Sandy weekly for heart palpitations and immediately noticed them disappearing with each treatment. If you are looking for a wonderful acupuncturist, I highly recommend seeing Sandy.

Sandy has such a gentle and loving way with acupuncture. I had never had acupuncture before so I did not know what to expect. I went to see Sandy because I felt that I was not breathing well and wanted her assistance. I felt this stemmed from anxiety and stress. The needles relaxed me and I felt much more grounded, and calm. I also had stubbed my big toe and was in a lot of pain. Within one treatment my toe was feeling much better and I didn’t need to see her again.
Sandy is extremely skilled and gifted in her practice. She is truly caring and loving of her patients and listens intently. I felt very well taken care of, and highly recommend her. She sincerely enjoys helping people and is committed to their health. Sandy’s office is relaxing, very comfortable, and has a warm vibe.

Sandra has helped me so much with my first time mom fatigue, anxiety and recovery. Then again with my second child complete exhaustion and constant immune challenges! I am so grateful for her skilled care and attention. Her space and personality are so welcoming, intelligent and soothing. I look forward to continued care and wellness with her.

I went to Sandra Ludlow for treatment for one ailment in particular, and found her treatment and counsel to be so effective, I expanded my menu of ailments to place under her care. From the original treatment for hot flashes, which included eating recommendations as well as acupuncture treatment, I was also treated for allergies, cold/​flu and resulting fatigue. Being treated by her at the onset of a cold greatly reduced the severity and symptoms. The treatment for allergies was a tremendous aid. Her suite of treatment rooms is charming, relaxing and welcoming. Her knowledge of Chinese medicine and treatment is top rate. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a holistic healing experience.

At the urging of a friend I went to Sandy to help with my allergies. I have suffered from allergies my entire life and had resigned myself to a daily régime of Claratin (etc) augmented routinely with stronger stuff. Thus I was mostly living my life in a sudafed fog. Within weeks of acupuncture and herbal therapy I noticed a dramatic improvement and after a few months I was no longer reliant on antihistamines. I rarely use them these days.
Through the course of getting to know Sandy and working on my allergies I mentioned that I had somewhat chronic pain in my arms from spending too many years at a computer. This started an ongoing series of treatments for that which has helped a lot. Sandy uses a variety of treatments for RSI taken from her own personal experience in her former corporate career.
She is very knowledgable and enthusiastic about her treatments while being practical about our modern lifestyles (and my particular bad habits). She is very personable and engaging and picks up on off-​hand comments or body language to offer appropriate treatments. For example, I mentioned that my knee was bothering me one day and after two sessions focused on it I was no longer in pain.
Also, visiting her office is a lovely experience. It’s a classic Berkeley apartment filled with beautiful art, mid-​century furniture and plants. Her music is relaxing without being mindless spa music. And parking is easy.
I really think Sandy is great. She makes you feel comfortable and creates a partnership of health that extends outside of the office. We maintain a dialog via texts and emails to stay connected about my ongoing health. She really takes her commitment to healing seriously.

Dr. Ludlow is a skilled and gifted practitioner of acupuncture. Her knowledge and skill are top notch. She is also a great listener. I see her as a partner in my total health. She has helped me address my hypertension, high blood pressure and cravings. Her office is relaxing and very comfortable.

I’ve had great luck seeing Sandy regularly for acupuncture treatments. While training for my first 10K, my IT bands locked up during one of my longer runs. I thought I might not be able to run anymore. But, with Sandy’s help and a couple of her treatments, I experienced relief and was able to run the race!
Sandy also helped me during my second pregnancy when I suffered from sciatica that was so severe, I had to work from home in a laying down position. Again, I experienced relief after seeing Sandy!
My appointments with Sandy are always enjoyable and calming, and the results lasting. She is skilled, knowledgeable and intuitive. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

I saw Sandra after being hospitalized for having a debilitating and painful virus. She not only helped speed up my recovery with acupuncture, cupping, and herbs, but diminished my pain greatly. She is a thoughtful, gentle, competent practitioner and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Her office is beautiful, clean, and soothing, which matches her demeanor and approach.
