I’ve been coming here for a few years and will never go elsewhere if I can help it! Kimberly is great — awesome at what she does, professional and personable!

I came here for my first Brazilian wax ever because of the good reviews. Maybe I was the last client of the day or she was having an off day, but after giving Brazilian waxing another shot at a different place I can say my experience at Smooth & Sassy was not the best.
The environment was clean and relaxing, Kimberly was professional, but not very warm which I would expect for such a vulnerable experience and for someone getting a Brazilian for their first time. She was very serious and barely smiled, although she seemed friendly with the client before me. She made some small talk to help with the awkwardness during the waxing but it felt forced. I felt as though she wanted to get it over with and not take the time to make me feel at ease during the process. It took about 30 minutes. I knew Brazilians would hurt, but it hurt SO much I lay there thinking this is literally torture, I wanted to cry. On the plus side I was definitely smooth afterwards but it was not quick or mostly painless. I had some short hairs that she said were hard to remove but she kept tugging at them and that was really painful. As well as the larger more sensitive areas. But I thought maybe this is just how it’s supposed to be, as I had nothing to compare it to, so I just let her do her thing and sucked it up.
I went to a new place about 3 months later so it was pretty much like a first time all over again. I know there’s going to be some pain and discomfort, but it hurt so much less and the esthetician was a lot warmer and made sure I was okay the entire time.
If you’re not as sensitive as I am this place is probably great. I just expected to feel more welcomed and to be in a happier environment.

Kimberly is awesome! She was so quick. I’m so sensitive and never have pain free waxes … until today! I’m definitely coming back!

It was my first appointment today with Kimberly and I will definitely be coming back! She is really sweet and knows how to keep your mind off the pain.
I previously was going to European Wax center to get all my waxing done, but sometimes the atmosphere wasnt always «happy» and they were very pushie. Kimberly is the opposite! She gives you privacy to undress before and after, so there isnt that awkward person standing in the corner. She is very attentive to detail and didn’t do large sections at a time which I liked.
She is awesome and I definitely recommend coming to her!

Simply said, Kimberly is the absolute best. I have been going to her for three years and have only had a great experience. She is so friendly, personable, professional, etc… the list goes on! If this is your first waxing experience — I promise you are in great hands for a painless (as painless as a Brazilian can be) experience!

Kim has great bedside manner, uses hard wax for Brazilians (which means less pain), is super fast (I’m groomed in 15 mins), and provides numbing spray. I’ve recommended her to all my friends. So happy I found her as my previous waxer left the Bay Area.

I had done my research and this place was hygienic, clean and very comfortable. Best part of it was Kim though! Told her it was my first time and she kept the conversation going and gave me the student rate. It was just a little warm but the efficient and great service more than made up for it!

I had a full face and brow cleanup appointment with Kimberly and she was AMAZING. So glad I can trust someone out here so I don’t have to go to San Diego every time I want my waxing done.

The Brazilian I got wasn’t as awkward or as painful as I thought it would be! She did a great job and I would definitely go again.

Kimberly is wonderful! Quick, (for me) painless, and the time is always filled with good conversation. Hard to find street parking sometimes but it’s worth it.

I went to see Kimberly today for my first time ever and wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into. I went really early because I knew I had to take public transportation and I had no idea where she was located. The beauty supply store she is back of is easy to find so I got there early and thankfully she was able to take me early. I got an area waxed on me that I knew was very sensitive and unlike other places I’ve been she offered numbing spray and oh boy did it work, she is also very talkative and likes to know her clients. Because I’m a students she gave me more of a discount then she would typically so that’s another perk and she does do online booking. all in all I had an amazing experience and yes I will be returning!

It was my first time waxing down there and Kimberly was amazing! Super fast and efficient. As painless as waxing can be, as she gave me a numbing spray beforehand. Its a cute and very sanitary little room. Kimberly was also very kind and talkative during the process making it less awkward and painful. I will definitely be returning!

Hands down best Brazillian wax I have EVER had! Kimberly is so great, super sweet, friendly and knows exactly what she is doing. If you’re in the Berkeley/​Oakland area, this is honestly the best place to go.

Every year I make my way up to Berkeley to participate (more or less) in a three-​day conference held on campus. For whatever reason (I think it’s because I’m just generally more at ease here in the East Bay that I am at home in SoCal), I try to support local businesses during this trip by scheduling a Brazilian. I know, I agree, it’s kinda weird, but it’s almost like my annual reminder to clean up down there.
Because I’m an idiot, I TOTALLY forgot to do my research for this year’s trip. So here I am sitting at 2am on Thursday night/​Friday morning, trying desperately to find any available services. And into my digital life stumbles Smooth and Sassy (thank you once again, Unilocal app). Not only was I able to easily make an appointment online, but I was also able to find one on Friday afternoon (it was the only one open for like 5+ more days, and I’m only in Berkeley til Sunday night).
I gladly provide my CC info to hold this precious appointment of appointments, and brace myself the next day. It’s located in the back of a beauty supply shop, so just ask for Kimberly of any of the lovely ladies up front.
Kimberly is super sweet, down to earth, friendly, funny, and also happens to be very beautiful herself :) I’ve never experienced hard wax, and admittedly it was a little hotter than I expected. However, I guess I just got used to it, because before I knew it a little chit chat here and there, and we were all done! So fast, efficient, and thorough; Kimberly definitely does a spot-​check review before you clean up for the day :)
I’m incredibly sad that I don’t live in the area and can’t regularly visit Kimberly for this service, but I’m definitely pleased to say that Smooth and Sassy is now my regular go-​to for waxing during my March trips to Berkeley :) THANK YOU SO MUCH KIMBERLY!!! FANTASTIC job!

Kimberly is fantastic. Bar none, hands down, just awesome.
I «treat» myself to brazilians infrequently and have tried one place other than Kimberly, but it’s Kimberly who ended my search for my go-​to waxer. I decided this week would be my waxing week, but when I went to make the oh-​so-​convenient online appointment it appeared she was booked until next week (at least for what I wanted done). I didn’t realize how committed I am to Kimberly until I was faced with going elsewhere. My fellow Unilocalers have helped steer me right so many times before, so I found a place I thought could be a suitable backup — but at the last minute the heavens opened up & brought me an appointment this week with Kimberly!
The pain she inflicts to do the required job is fast and, well, painful — but c’mon, it’s a sensitive area & there’s really no way around it. I’m sure less sensitive areas are not so painful & that she’s equally as talented, but I can only speak to her Brazilian prowess. She is thorough, clean & super professional, which means her examining the privatest parts of your private parts for errant hairs isn’t uncomfortable at all.

I came here because of all the amazing reviews you ladies left. I guess I was there when Kim was having an off day. Or my old estheticians who I had been going to for years (I moved, shes an hour a way now) spoils us because this Brazilian was awful from the start.
Mind you I went to Kim almost a year ago and this experience is still fresh in my mind.
Why an I writing it now? Cause Unilocal just made it so we can review on our phone. And I had a free moment.
I arrived early. There was no waiting area. I just stood around looking at hair products. She seemed very friendly with her last client all chatty and full of smiles. With me, not so much, she turned into a very serious person. Telling me to undress, wipe down my vagina, and spray numbing stuff on it.
I have NEVER used numbing spray before. I don’t usually spray chemicals on my body unless I know what they are so I hesitated. Kim told me, «You should use it if you don’t want it to hurt.»
I’ve NEVER had a painful brazilian, until that day. I was now instantly in fear and I sprayed numbing stuff all over.
She came back into the room and preceded to rip out my hair. The numbing stuff did not kick in until she was half way done. Which thank goodness it worked because as you ladies know the top of the vulva where all your hair meets is the worse part.
20 min of pain later all my hair was gone. But my skin was red and gross looking for almost 24hours after. She gave no words of skin care advice. And I got my first ingrown hairs after that experience. Yes I exfoliate! Everyday.
So now I drive an hour out of the way to go to see my original esthetician in Pleasanton. So good luck ladies. You must all have higher pain tolerances then me.

I’ve been scheduling wax appointments with her for almost 2 years now, and I’m ashamed it took me this long to write a Unilocal review.
I only started waxing when I lived in LA, over 3 years ago… when I first moved back to the Bay Area I was really afraid I wasn’t going to find a place that matched my love for Flirt Salon in Burbank… and I continued to visit Liesl whenever I was in SoCal; but luckily I was able to find my equivalent local «go to» Smooth & Sassy.

I’ve been looking for a good place to get a brazilian and I’m so glad I found Smooth and Sassy.
Pros:
1. You can book appointments on the internet
2. Totally hygienic, Kimberly never double dips.
3. Hard wax and Kimberly is so fast it doesn’t hurt at all.
4. She does it super clean, not one hair left.
5. It’s really affordable especially for the quality of work she does. It was $ 42 for me without tip.
6. Kimberly is super nice and makes the entire process fast and comfortable and not at all awkward.
Cons:
Nothing! :) I love this place and I’m so glad I found Kimberly I totally will be coming back and telling all my friends about her.
