Alexis is awesome! The hair is also the highest quality I’ve ever found. Alexis listens to your wants and needs and delivers very well every time. She is very pleasant to be around. I have been going to her for a year now and think she is the best at what she does. I usually do the microbeads installation. I just got an installation of the long curly in 28 inches and am very happy with it. Now she actually travels to you at no extra cost. What more could you ask for?

I love my Malesian hair extensions!!! It’s the best quality HUMAN hair! Yes it’s real HUMAN hair. I’ve been going to Alexis for a year and bought many other texture human hair and the Malesian hair is absolutely the best quality and doesn’t tangle it stays soft and silky. Alexis is a great person she’s nice and honest I totally recommend her. She’s the best!

This is a set up. I sat and felt all of the hair she had out… and every single one is processed. This is not virgin hair. Not brazillian, not Indian, not Cambodian. This is human hair mixed with plastic. The texture is far from natural. And tangles like I don’t know what. Please do not waste your money on a scam. Its crazy how many ppl would lie to you to get your money. $ 300 my ass. You can get better quality at the beauty supply or alliexpress. Sorry I had to do it. Its just crazy how people will say anything to u to get a buck. For the prices she’s charging you would think she would get better quality. Its cheap to purchase virgin hair straight from India rather than buy processed hair.

My hair is an addiction of mine that I have been
struggling with for a while now. I have very fine
straight caucasian hair and tried every type
of hair extension, growth, add in method I could
find and all of them either didn’t work and didn’t
work very long. Then I called Alexis.
Customer Service: I called her on Saturday hoping
to get in that week and she made time for me the
next day. Sunday morning when I woke up I had over
slept and was already running 10 minutes late with
gross oily hair. I called her asking if she had anymore
openings and she was kind enough to come in almost
an hour late after I had showered.
It took her about an hour to put in my hair and the
whole time she was talking to me and making me
feel comfortable and welcome. Many of the people
I have seen in the past weren’t interested in keeping
conversation and were always trying to push their
products on me. It makes you feel uncomfortable
and unvalued as a customer and with Alexis I didn’t
feel that way.
The Shop: Her shop was clean and organized. The
floor was swept and the shelves and merchandise
were clean and displaced nicely. Her building
was easy to find and there is plenty of parking.
She is such an amazing stylist. Very personable and
understanding. Once again, my hair is an addiction
and therefore I want the best. I will definitely be going
back soon with more hair!

Came in to get long luscious hair and came out with EXACTLY what I had pictured in mind. Alexis knows her stuff and I’m absolutely pleased with the results!

So I was hating having short hair so I decided to go and get my extensions didn’t know a place and it was first time to get this done. this place was amazing not only great service but I love my hair after it I can’t wait to go again

I have bone straight very fine caucasian hair and did a lot of research before taking the plunge with extensions.
I read all of the positive Unilocal reviews for Studio 40 and knew this was where I should go. I was able to book a consultation appointment on the same afternoon that I called to inquire. Alexis spent a good hour with me and went over all the options and hair options. I walked out knowing that I was dealing with a very educated business owner.
I was even more thrilled when I was able to book an appointment for the following morning, especially since New Years eve was only two days away and she was out of town. Alexis probably spent two hours total from start to finish, and she did exactly what I had asked for. I loved it immediately. She advised me to return in four weeks for my maintenance appointment.
Over the 5 weeks before I called for a follow up appointment, I’ve really learned the amount of upkeep involved in keeping the hair looking nice. I also decided that I needed more hair because I can only describe it as «Franken-​hair» with a bad mullet. I have more hair in my crown area than I do anywhere else. As time wore on I realized this was not the look I was trying to achieve, so I called Alexis ordered another bundle of hair and accepted her next available apt.
It’s been two days since I was back to see Alexis and this woman is amazing. She really listens to what look you are going for, she sets you in the chair and she creates magic. Each and every time she has made sure I was 100% happy with what I saw. She understands a woman’s need to have beautiful hair. We talked about hair products, the do’s and don’ts, our children, etc. You feel like you are hanging out with a girlfriend doing each others hair! She really is a very sweet young lady and I am so thrilled that I found her as a result of Unilocal.Thanks Unilocal

I love Alexis. She is amazing at the work she does. She is so educated about extensions, sells beautiful high quality hair, and is great at putting in the most amazing extensions. I have had my hair done by several people and no one is as kind, funny, and good at doing what Alexis does. She is thoughtful and kind and very thorough when planning your look.
I think of her not as a hair dresser, but as an artist. (You should honestly hear the music she makes outside of doing hair)! She creates great beauty and art our of hair. I am so pleased. I fly all the way from CO to see her!!!

Stole 150 dollars from me
I live in a town that doesn’t have many people that do black hair so I decided to go to the bay area to get my hair done. I emailed Alexis and she said she would have to order the hair and to send her 147 on pay pal. I made the very stupid mistake of sending her the money cause I really needed my hair done for a trip and assumed that was the norm because she seemed to know the hair type to get and what pieces she needed and wanted the hair to be there in time
I was unable to make my appointment due to transportation issues and told her it’s not going to work out and she said she would just send the hair she bought, it’s been a month I haven’t received the hair nor heard from her and she won’t respond to me but responded to me alot before this happened
She either used the hair I bought on someone else or she is just going to keep the money. Im sure she’s nice at doing hair but you don’t just keep someone’s money and ignore them

Alexis is such a wonderful person and she did an amazing job on my hair! Most of all, I love how natural my extensions look and the color came out just the way I imagined it.
I was recently forced to cut my hair because of how damaged it was and really missed my long hair. I called the very next day to set up an appointment. The ends of my hair were still a red-​brown color from an old dye job, so Alexis thought to ombré the hair to blend it with mine. I loved the idea and I’m very happy with the outcome! Alexis most definitely saved my hair and gave me my confidence back :)

I have been searching for someone who specializes in extensions for awhile now. I’m so exstatic that I found Alexis.
She truly is an artist, and definetly knows what she’s talking about. From the moment I called to ask questions, to the moment I was sitting in the her chair, I felt completely confident in her skills and I knew she’d hook me up!

Alexis is so patient and really cares about her customers. If you don’t have extensions you need them and you neeeeed to go to her. Affordable yet such amazing quality.

I had a wonderful experience at studio40. I walked in to a small, quaint, intimate shop and was greeted by the welcoming salon stylist and immediately felt comfortable. I have worn extensions for 25+ years and I am known to be a bit of a perfectionist. I was very pleased with the work of this stylist. Her technique was excellent, her professionalism was notable, and her desire to please was appreciated. And most of all I LOVE MY HAIR! It’s so versatile, and I truly love it. When I left, I told her she was my new salon stylist.

Studio 40 is the best place to buy extensions in the Bay Area, hands down. The hair is amazing quality and they rush ship it because it’s their own line of hair. You can take the hair elsewhere if you ordered clip-​ins or have it installed for you (which I highly recommend!).
Alexis, the owner, is the best… and straight up looks like Beyonce. She made me feel at ease about hair extensions and explained every detail down to a science so I knew exactly what would happen. SO knowledgable about her products!
The hair that we ordered matched my hair, but I wanted it a little lighter/​ashier because I’m really picky… and she made it happen the same day even though she had other customers — don’t know how she does it!
She always accommodates my timing needs for extension maintenance and makes the appointments fun! Her stories are hilarious and, if you’re lucky, she might sing for you. ;)

Hair extensions can be pretty tricky. The color has to be right, they have to have a certain feel/​look. I’m very picky! I’m a makeup artist so my appearance helps grow my business, I can’t afford to not «look the part.» A friend told me about Alexis and Studio 40 so I was excited to work with her. She blew away all expectations! She is not only an extension expert with great advice but she really listens to you and cares about what look you’re going for. I bought the clip ins (my hair is really short, shoulder length A-​line) and they are fabulous. I always get compliments when I wear them, they don’t take long to apply, and are actually quite comparable (especially considering all the hair I have) I’m blown away and thrilled I found Alexis! She’s incredible.

Before I met Alexis, I had no clue how hair extensions worked, how you have to match your hair texture, how many different ways of attachment… etc, the Internet research only got me so far :). All the other hair extension places I visited were somewhat intimidating, you can’t touch the hair, or only touch the hair through this hole in the plastic wrapper, no one was willing to really sit down with a total amateur and explain things.
Alexis is amazing, she literally took a whole hour to sit down with me and answered every single question — I had a lot of questions ;). Alexis let me touch all the hair (she had an amazing selection of 100% human hair) and determine the right texture for me. I can’t be happier with her selection, service and education. Her prices are super reasonable especially considering her product and service — two enthusiastic thumbs up!
