Train The Behavior

Tanja is a great, no bs trainer. She did an amazing job working with two unruly German Shepherds. After 5 monthly sessions with Tanja and practicing based on the techniques and equipment she introduced, they are totally transformed. Now interacting with them is actually a pleasant and relaxing experience.

Other training courses nickel-​and-​dime you out of a fortune, with little lasting results. Save it for Tanja’s behavior training. She is more expensive, but is worth every penny because what she teaches sticks for good. My rescued German Shepherd Knuckles pre-​Tanja and Knuckles post-​Tanja are two different dogs. He used to be wild, anxious, uncontrollable and very bossy, the worst of GSD traits, exacerbated by shelter issues. After working with Tanja, he is mellow, focused, trustworthy and well-​socialized in dog parks and stores. He walks off leash behind the stroller, and everyone is always impressed at how well-​behaved he is. I’m grateful to Tanja for helping reveal the dog he truly is, and for teaching us to be strong and thoughtful leaders.

Watching Tanja interact with her dogs is amazing, and seems to always draw a crowd. We have been working with her for a few sessions now, and there is a noticeable progression in our dogs behavior. Sancho isnt quite there yet, but we are finally making a step towards the better (after about three other trainers). Sancho is a great and loving dog who just loves to play, the problem was that no one else would ever know since he is territorial and scared of strangers. After a little correction and motivation (that we learned from Tanja), he is finally starting to learn that people are not all bad. If you need a good trainer to help with aggression I would 100% recommend Tanja. She is the most honest trainer that we have worked with, and the only one who doesnt watch the time the entire session.

If you ever visit Pt. Isabel Regional Park, you may find a young woman with a pack of perfectly trained German Shepherds. This would be Tanja Baker, the dog trainer and her business is called ‘Train the Behavior’, reward based dog training.
I have taken my own German Shepherd for training with Tanja and she has worked wonders with my dog. She was aggressive toward other dogs. But, Tanja’s method was successful in helping my dog become much more calm and nonreactive around other dogs. I would highly recommend Tanja’s training for obedience, boot camp, and boarding.
