Description

Specialties

The mission of the Berthoud Community Library District is to provide access to popular and informational books, other materials, and services that inform, educate, and culturally enrich the people of the Berthoud Community.

History

Established in 1932.

Through the efforts of Berthoud Women’s Club, the library was first housed at the old grade school. In 1952 the library moved to a space in the Town Hall. Two additions were added as the collection grew.

The dream of a separate library facility became a reality when the present location opened in 1995. The new facility was made possible by a very generous gift from Dr. Helen Fickel and Dr. Bruce Fickel as well as gifts from the Berthoud businesses, organizations, individuals, and the Town of Berthoud.

In July 2008 the Berthoud Community Library District was formed. This was one more step in the effort to provide the best possible library service to Berthoud residents.
