We went to do laundry right across the street, we usually go to out normal Ice cream spot«La Michoana» but decided to try this place. First of all employees are in the back just standing around doing nothing. We walked in there not acknowledged or anything. Waiting in line for a good 15 mins. The ice cream looked old with frost all over it. Customer service skills are horrible and the floors were discussing!!! La Michoacana is a couple blocks away but much better and fresh quality and better customer service skills!!! Will not recommend this place to anyone!!!

I just went to this place. And I usually go there for simple things like ice cream. But this time I decided to have a funnel cake! When I ordered it I saw the employee go into the fridge and take it out from there. Then she put it in the microwave to heat it up! I asked if I can taste it because I’ve never seen that. And she said no. And I understand that but she assured us that it was the same. Then when preparing it for us she started talking about us to the other employee and laughing at us. They honestly butchered the idea of a funnel cake! ITWASDISGUSTING!

I usually love the strawberries and cream ice cream bars at this location. But I noticed that they changed the flavors on almost everything .For years La Tropicana has been one of my favorites ice cream places to enjoy even that there is a lot of new ice cream places to choose. Now I’m not sure if I’ll we back

My new favorite spot for elotes/Mexican corn, paletas/ice cream bars & ice cream! I highly suggest the Oreo, Coconut, Nuez/Butter Pecan ice creams that they scoop for you… And the Oreo, Pina Colada, Coconut milk paletas/ice cream bars. And the girls behind the counter are very helpful explaining things, to the non speaking Spanish customers. Which was 5 stars service to me. *I will update more on my next trip. Definitely will be trying the yogurt with fruit & granola.

I love this chain! It is a little piece of Mexican snack foods right here in the city! This particular store offers frozen yogurt, which the others do not. They even have tequila ice cream! Their cones are super fresh

My wife and I love coming here to soothe our strawberries and cream cravings. They have a myriad of goodies such as ice cream, smoothies/shakes, corn on a stick/cup, fruits and more. The staff is always friendly. Due to their deliciousness, it does get a bit pack at times and you may not know where the line is, if any, as everyone is just crowding over the counters, with the kids savoring each flavor of ice cream. Prices are reasonable for their goodies and they do accept credit/debit, although I believe there is a minimum purchase amount to do so.

Best ice cream ever! The taste of the ice cream is natural and consistent. They have lots of flavors to choose from, their prices are fair and their portions are pretty big. 1 scoop is plenty but if you’re like me you’ll want 2. Make sure to check out their menu, they have way more than just ice cream. Examples: Flan, cheesecake, fruit w/yogurt and granola and etc.

For those of you who are new to paletas… run out right now to Paleteria La Tropicana to get some! Paletas are wonderful latino popsicles… but so much better than your average popsicle! Paleteria La Tropicana is the real deal. Their fresh, homemade paletas will run you about $ 1.50(for the paletas made with water) to $ 2(for ones made with milk). They easily have 40 different types of paletas, plus lots of homemade icecream, ices, and licuados! All are homemade, and no yucky added chemmies or high-fructose corn syrup like some of the paleterias I’ve been to. We sampled the fresa con leche(complete with a whole strawberry at the bottom of the stick), coco con leche, and the mango con chile. All were very good, although the mango con chile was not my cup of tea. Not quite as amazing as the hole-in-the-wall paleterias I’ve been to in Mexico(not as many big chunks of in-season, fresh fruit). However, Paleteria La Tropicana is very good and I’ll definitely be back. A perfect summer treat!
