I am sooo sad that Dr. Chavin, isn’t in my new network. I have to say the staff here is just excellent, and I believe that his exams are thorough and he takes tremendous care of his patients. Keep up the good work guys!

First of all, Dr. Chavin is one of the best out there. The rating is purely on the staff and selection. We were the only ones there when we went for our annual eye check up. The place is small and with a funky smoker smell. There’s also not a lot of options when it comes to the glasses. We paid for the glasses and they said they would give us a call as soon as they were ready. Two weeks passed by and we didn’t hear from them so I decided to call in the morning during business hours but no one answered so I left a voicemail. I waited and never got a call back so I decided to call back. The lady that picked up said she never got my voicemail but she didn’t even bother to ask for my name. I called back a couple of days later and the glasses were still not ready. three whole additional days passed until I called again to ask and they said they were finally ready. If you wanna deal with bad service and wait for days for your glasses then good luck to you.

Dr. Chavin is a very good eye doctor. All the typical good eye doctor things — he’s got them down. You can’t go wrong.
Here’s what makes Dr. Chavin exceptional:
One morning a few years ago, my 1 ½ year old son poked my husband in the eye, causing an eyeball laceration (if it’s not the medical term, it should be). My husband was in absolute excruciating pain. As we were about to go to the ER, I decided to put a quick call into Dr. Chavin’s office. It was hours before it opened, so I got his answering service, which immediately got me in touch with Dr. Chavin, who I’m fairly certain I woke up. I explained to him what happened, he had a good idea of what was wrong and said, «Meet me at my office in 30 minutes.» This was still long before he was due to be there, but he rushed over, opened early and immediately took care of my husband (alleviating his pain in seconds with a few drops of something, and then treating the eyeball laceration). My husband is not even a patient!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Chavin since 2007, and as long as I live here and as long as he’s practicing, I will continue to see him. He’s a true professional, who very much cares about his patients.

Dr. Chavin is as good as it gets when it comes to eye doctors. He is very patient and knowledgeable about all things eyes. I first started seeing him in 2004. Now that I have moved to the north suburbs of Chicago, I still drive to Berwyn for my appointments because I know no other eye doctor can compare.
If you’re looking for an eye doctor and are close to or willing to travel to Berwyn, Dr. Chavin is your best bet!
