A&E Factory Service

I guess I’m the latest sucker for A/​E. I purchased a dryer from Best Buy and purchase the extra Geek Squad protection plan. My dryer has been out since March. Call the BB and they sent out A/​E. First time, thought it was fix, ran my dryer twice and no heat again, came again 2 weeks later, ran dryer 3 times and broke again, came out 3^rd time, ran dryer 3 times again and broke this time no power at all when hot, came out 4^th time, said the they can’t fix the problem will submit request to BB for replacement, Had both BB and A/​E technician talking to each other, A/​E tech said he will submit and get everything set. He said it will take 3 to 5 days after he submits that day. Called BB than they said the technician didn’t submit a request to replace.
Call A/​E asking what’s going on, she didn’t even ask for my name and number and said someone will be calling you back. I ask to talk to a manager and like all the other post, she said someone will be calling me within 24 to 48 hrs. It’s June 22^nd and my dryer is still not working.
Very frustrated with Best Buy and A/​E for contracting such a horrible service provider for their customers. This has to be a big black eye for them. BB would not do anything on their own to fix this issue either. They have lost me as a customer.

My comments echo these other reviews. This company is a complete joke, incompetent, and has the worst customer service imaginable… not to mention worthless technicians. i would give it zero stars if possible. I have been waiting for my stove top to be fixed since December 2015, and it is now three months later. The last technician actually broke it and we have been unable to cook for two weeks now. He actually advised us to call the gas company!
They have been out seven times to fix this. They order the wrong parts, send people not qualified to work on it, and then make you wait another two weeks just to find out you have to wait another two weeks to get more parts.
I have been told eight times that someone would call me back, and I’m still waiting for a return call. Their call center «managers» have no way of escalating problems, and their routing people are oblivious, ignorant, and just as incompetent as their call center people.
DO NOT sign up for extended Sears warranties with this company!!! You will regret the decision and throw your money away.

This company is a joke! Rude, surly people on the phone, if you ask to speak to a supervisor they don’t comply, say someone will call in 24 hours. HA!
They send out a technician that is always either too early or too late for the time frame given. They have come out 3 times now and my KitchenAid dishwasher is doing the same exact thing. No power, no lights. They only put in a claim if the problem is 30 days after the old issue. They can send 3 more times on the same claim for what they call a «recall»
Basically, they don’t send qualified technicians, and clearly don’t care. The appliance was purchased from HH Gregg, they extend the warranty work to A&E. Try complaining to HH Gregg! They take your money and run.
This is a scam for sure. I’ll bet they use substandard parts in the appliances. We have had a new control panel, new lock.
The same service tech came each time and was rude and scratched the face of my stainless steel dishwasher on a visit, then claimed it was «old scratch»
This is a nightmare that isn’t going to end well.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Waited all day and never showed up. Customer service was no help. Stay away.

If Frigidaire/​electrolux is attempting to send this company to fix your appliance, RUN!!! Its a scam. They are in cahoots together. Scam artistry at its best.

The worst!!! Cant waste anymore time writing on my experience as I have wasted a ton trying to get them to fix an issue.

I wish I had read all these reviews on A& E to save myself the time and agony, not to mention the huge inconvenience to my tenant, who had to go months without a working range/​oven. Every comment on this company’s service and performance is TRUE and ACCURATE to my own experience. One my third attempt to get follow-​up service after replacing a sensor and being told the wires were bad (but never ordered), I complained to GE about A&E and they conceded to sending a GE technician who IMMEDIATELY identified the problem (new oven plug and old wall receptacle) and fixed it on the spot. We wasted so much time and energy on incompetent, rude service… the WORST follow-​through of any company I have ever dealt with. GE needs to sever their contract and hire a reputable local company to service their warranties. I want to give a huge PLUG to Evan at GE for fixing the problem right away. Please do not make any more of your customers suffer through this awful experience with A&E Factory Service!

We have an extended warranty contract with a company through the store we bought our appliance from. Getting an actual repair time that’s reasonable would be helpful to A&E Factory Service. I will not be renewing our extended warranty through the company that is using this service repair any longer. The wait time is ridiculously long and means you spend x amount of dollars for the warranty and x amount of dollars taking laundry out to launder. There actually is zero savings getting a warranty especially if you STILL pay while you are waiting for an appointment… no thank you so done with this crazy situation having an extended warranty and using a company who cannot keep a decent pace for work orders.
If I had made my own appointment with a service I guarantee they would not make me wait three weeks to get that repair done. They lose business that way. Oh also we have the part so they are NOT waiting for that.

I am not surprised to come onto Unilocal and find all of these terrible reviews. This company is unreliable, inconsiderate and plain rude. It has been over 6 weeks and my repairs still are not complete. The manager’s I’ve spoken to on the phone do not care about any inconvenience and will do NOTHING to make it right. So disappointing.

I feel like giving this company 1 Star is way more than they deserve. Unilocal really needs to consider adding the option for ZERO stars. Unfortunately, my warranty company set me up with an appointment with this place because they were my «only option» (so I thought).
I was told my appointment would be between 12 – 5 PM. I waited around all day. 5:30 came around and still no one came. So, I called to make sure they were still coming. The person on the phone told me that they were going to attempt to contact the technician and have them send me a status update. It never happened. So, I called again at 7:30 and they told me the same exact thing. I waited around and finally went to bed a few hours later. Obviously no one ever showed up that evening.
I called the next afternoon to find out what had happened, only to find out that they rescheduled my appointment, without my knowledge, for another 2 weeks out! Needless to say, I was a little bit irritated. Especially, since I never received a phone call. They gave me several excuses as to why they were unable to show up and never called me to tell me they rescheduled. None of these excuses made any sense to me whatsoever. I understand that things come up and sometimes need to be rescheduled, but at least inform me! My time is just as valuable as anyone else’s.
I then spoke with a supervisor, and asked them if this was acceptable behavior for them? I was told «No, but I said sorry, and this is just how it is. If you want to use another company, do it.» I wasn’t under the impression that I could use another company, so I called my warranty company and they were very apologetic. They sent my request over to their supervisor to find another company for me to use. I’m hoping that my warranty company drops these people soon and finds another company to use. Obviously I am not the only person who as gone through this.
Basically, this company is useless and customer service is non existent. You will work with them on their terms and ONLY their terms! If you have to use them for your warranty, call the warranty company and tell them you want someone else! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

I WISH I COULD LEAVE ZERO STARS. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. Sears has a contract with this repair company, and I was forced to deal with them. They made me wait 2 weeks for a repair, then they didn’t show up during the four hour window (8am — 12). I didn’t hear from them at all until 4pm when I got a voicemail asking me to reschedule. When I called them, they first told me that no one was home during the visit (which is obviously a complete lie). Then they said they didn’t have any available appointments for ANOTHER 2 weeks. When I explained that I am actually moving out of the country in two weeks, and I don’t have the time to wait, they just kept repeating that they could not help me.
In addition to this review, I have lodged a formal complaint with Sears, and I encourage others with bad experiences to do the same.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

Truly beyond frustrating. I’m obligated to use this company because of the Sears appliance warranty on the house I rent. I’d rather suffer with broken appliances than deal with them.
Repairmen order the wrong parts, request the wrong service, keep poor notes so that the next guy can’t complete jobs. On top of that, they don’t show up, and then reschedule your service without telling you nor consulting you on the date and time. Among the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with.
So, not only should you avoid this company, but if you live in the DC area, please reconsider using Sears for a warranty if this is the subcontractor they work with.

Horrible! Our washer needs to be fixed (it is under warranty through HH Gregg). Our appointment was scheduled for Saturday October 25^th. The technician was bitten by a dog at the last appointment before ours — which is understandable — but when we called to reschedule on a weekend (ON PURPOSE SINCE WE CANNOT MISS WORK), they told us they could only schedule us for Tuesday November 4^th. When we asked for a Friday or Saturday availability date, they gave us the run around. POOR SERVICE. GET WITH THE TIMES

HORRIBLE! I had no choice but to deal with them because of my home warranty. The appointment processes is a nightmare and the reps on the phone are clueless! I had an appt time frame from 8a-​12p. I was up & in my house early. NO KNOCK ON THE DOOR, NO DOORBELL RANG. I made sure I checked the front of the house multiple times. I get a lame post it saying that I missed them at 8am. BULL! I was in my house, in the living room (which is not far at all from the door) and no knock or doorbell. I screamed at the rep because this is ridiculous.
If this is who my warranty company sends out, I’m switching warranty companies. How in the world is this company still in business?

don’t use. customer service told me one thing, the repair tech told me another.
didn’t show up for first appointment at all, when i called customer service said i was scheduled for the following week instead. no notification about the appt bump at all. when i tried to ask for a sooner date they attempted to schedule me further out instead. boo.
next appt, customer service told me to be there between 330 and 530, and repair tech called and told me 130 to 330. he called me at 1pm asking where i was, then argued that he told me 1pm originally and that he was going to leave and we’d have to reschedule. even after i said i could be home in 10 minutes (still before scheduled time!).

I once had to use this company, as they were contractually obligated to serving the warranty on my work-​place refrigerator. Oh… they came out to service it, but getting them scheduled was like pulling teeth.
I’m updating my review to say that A & E has become absolutely unbearable in the two years since I wrote my first review. Their customer service reps are incredibly rude and act as though they’re doing you a favor by scheduling an appointment in which a technician will not show up. They’ll get outright belligerent if you call them out on their lies, too.
This company also has a thing in which the technicians are not allowed to park at meters. It really limits where they can work. Expect to hear, «I couldn’t park» to be a standard excuse.
If you want something fixed by A & E, you’re better off throwing your toddler into the appliance with a phillips head and a can of WD-​40.

Wost customer service! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Terrible at showing up in the four hour window they say they are coming, terrible at communicating, and terrible at problem solving.
I had an appointment from 10 – 2 and no one showed. Two times! And now they can’t get us in for another week. It has been over a month trying to work with them. TERRIBLE!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. And their customer service team has no agency to actually fix the problems their dispatch has created. The worst experience.

I think that the previous reviews nail this one on the head. This is a horrible repair company. Unfortunately, they are the only approved vendor for an extended warranty plan that we bought for our Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer. When our dryer started giving a F70 error message and stopped working, I had contacted Whirlpool to have a repair done, A&E was the default company that they sent. The repair person showed up at 1PM for a 8 – 12 AM repair window. He looked at the dryer and told me I needed a new master board and that parts and labor would be about $ 800. I told him we had an extended warranty plan, and he said that the dispatch did not write the ticket up as so so there was nothing he could do. Called to reschedule a repair under the warranty plan. This time the technician comes out and basically disconnects the board and reconnects it and tells me that the issue is fixed. I told him that his counterpart had told me I needed a new master board when he came out a week prior, but the current repair person insisted that he sees this error all the time on the Whirlpool Duet dryer and this fixes the problem. Needless to say, 2 weeks later the error reoccurred and I had to set up yet another repair appointment and block out another 4 hours.
I find it interesting that when a repair is thought to not be under warranty that they recommended a $ 800 repair, but when it was a warrantied repair, they essentially did nothing. Very shady.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID… unless you like to sit around the house way past windows of when they should arrive. We had to use them when we had a Whirlpool Gold fridge that was freezing everything on the top shelf. The fridge was still under warranty and we didn’t get a choice of who we used. This was who whirlpool chose for us. At the first appointment which was schedule from 8 – 12 timeframe the repairman did not show up until 3:15 PM. Turns out Whirlpool sent some wrong parts and he couldn’t fix the fridge. The second time they came out we received the parts, but and we got a phone call from the Tech saying he was coming and running late. We had not scheduled an appointment with them yet and they failed to give us notice they were coming so we ended up canceling our Saturday plans to wait for the repairman. Luckily it is repaired now… and hopefully I never have to deal with them again.

A huge rip off. The labor charge to replace a simple part was $ 232. Literally takes 5 minutes to replace the part. The cost of the part was acceptable, but the labor was insane. I ordered the part myself and will put it in myself. Even with the $ 70 trip charge, I will still save $ 160. Obviously some repairs cannot be done by the owner, and in that case probably better to just buy a new appliance then call these guys.
The tech was extremely nice and it was not his fault on the labor charge. He even showed me how to replace it myself.
