Dave Klein Jazz offers private music lessons for students of all ages and skill levels in and around the Bethesda area. A former Jazz student at Emory University in Atlanta, Dave has been performing since 2004 and teaching since 2010. Dave currently teaches saxophone, clarinet, covering technique, music theory and jazz improvisation to help students improve beyond what they thought possible. Lessons are taught at Dave’s studio in Bethesda, or can be taught in the student’s home to ensure a suitable practice environment. Contact Dave today for more information!

History
Established in 2004.
Dave has been performing publicly since 2004 and teaching since 2010. Recently he’s performed with his trio/quartet at venues including the Carnegie Library in Washington DC, the Artisphere in Rosslyn, VA, and the Bethesda Fine Arts festival in Maryland.
Dave has been teaching since 2010 with anywhere from 15 – 25 students taking weekly private lessons. Experienced with children as young as 1st grade and on up to retired adults! All experience levels are welcome.

Dave grew up in the Washington DC area playing Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, and Baritone Sax. He attended Walt Whitman High School and was a member of its award winning Jazz Ensemble as a Tenor Saxophonist. In 2003. while a senior, he was selected as the lead Alto Saxophonist for the Maryland All-State Jazz Ensemble. Dave went on to study Jazz at Emory University in Atlanta under Gary Motley and E.J. Hughes in addition to receiving a degree in Business. The «Dave Klein Jazz Quartet» was based out of Atlanta for 3 years and performed at a variety of popular venues. Since graduating in 2007 Dave traveled extensively — working in places such as Kenya and Israel — but returned home to the D.C. area to share his skills as a music educator. Some of his musical influences include Be-Bop saxophonists Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt, and Lou Donaldson.
