The appetizers are great & cool atmosphere. I go about once a week just for the empanadas! Sounds like they also have a great thing going on upstairs at their nightclub. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch, dinner, or a cocktail.

Bethesda, MD. Had dinner last night for the first time. Although the wait staff was very polite, the service was painfully slow. For a bar, it took them forever to open a wine bottle to serve a glass of wine. For appetizer, we ordered a classic ceviche. Waited for a long time. When it arrived, it was totally raw tilapia cut into cubes with no marinated taste. Never ever had a ceviche that was so tasteless. When we inquired, the waitress told us it had been freshly made only 20 minutes ago. No wonder it had not marinated and had no taste. Our entrée was a fajita dish with mesquite grilled bacon wrapped shrimp. The menu said it was also wrapped with jalapeños. No such thing. The shrimp were large and it was a fine dish but lacked the punch I expected. For dessert we had a flan and fried ice cream. The flan tasted fine but had no carmalized sugar crust on it. The fried ice cream was wrapped in a very heavy crust of cornflakes, not a light crispy fluffy layer we have had in other places. The crust was totally inedible, just ate the ice cream. I seriously doubt we will return even though we see many positive reviews. I don’t like to slam a place, recognizing everybody can have a bad night. This is an exception for me.

Came here with a Groupon for dinner. Not a fancy place but I got so much food for my $ 40 voucher. The beef empanadas were okay; it was my first time having it so maybe I’m just not a fan. The salmon tacos were delicious as was the paella. Oh and I got a pretty good mojito. Also, you apparently get a free entrée if you dine in on your birthday so I’ll definitely be celebrating mine there.

OPENBAR4th of July from 10pm-Midnight! 1st time here & everyone was very friendly… from the servers outside who was closing down the patio due to the rain, the bartender who greeted us as soon as we walked in & Valentino, who ended up being our server. The bartender gave us the menus & we sat at the high tops. Nice music system playing & the Men’s Soccer games were on the TV. Valentino was right on point with his salutations & offering us the specials. We ordered Sangrias & in the interim was treated to authentic salsa & fresh chips. Valentino returned quickly with our drinks & these Sangrias were very good! They came in a huge red wine glass & the mixture of fruit was very tropical. Valentino checked on us periodically while we waited for the Salsa Dancing to begin. & what a great benefit for Unilocalin In with my check in as I got a 25% off deal. Valentino had his supervisor handle the deal who ended up being the Owner JC. I told him we really enjoyed Valentino’s engaging & good service & he was very thankful for the compliment. He really took pride in his establishment’s goal of offering great customer service & specials on a daily basis. Hence the Open Bar for two hours after the Fireworks. It’s always a positive moment to speak with the owner of a nice business environment. We went upstairs to Salsa Room, there was a live DJ of course spinning the hottest Latin music, people dancing all over the floor & another bar full of happy takers. A cool vibe of a diversified crowd & great music, was such a good last minute decision to get out & dance.

This is a review for the Brunch on Sundays. I was looking for a place that would accommodate a large group for a birthday brunch. After looking at soooo many spots in DC, none could guarantee me seating for a group of 15 or more. Therefore, I spoke with Alex a few days prior to make a reservation. He confirmed it would be no problem. He even called me the night before to confirm. Our reservation was for 1pm. Our tables were setup and we were ready to drink! At first service was super slow, and it was not super busy yet. Alex was onsite and helped out our tables while the servers catched up with us. We had multiple servers, the blonde female was not attentive and we had to look for her a few times, our main server(male Hispanic, thick and taller than the other small guy their that day) was great!!! he made up for where the others were slacking. Unlimited mimosas were awesome, and only $ 15!!! I recommend the pineapple mimosa. We were provided with chips and salsa as we waited. I had the steak and eggs with cheese and a side of fruit. It was ok, not bad but just average. Definitely try their specialty plates instead, my friends and family all ordered different and I saw a few good plates of Latin brunch items! All entrees were a decent price. My sister bought my cake and brought it to the restaurant for dessert, Alex placed in the fridge for us and brought it out when we were ready. I thought that was nice and attentive. Some places wont let you bring an outside cake. We spent a few hours here with no one rushing us to leave. We enjoyed our drinks and everyone had a great time! DJ played music and there are also various TVs all around showing the Soccer games and other sports. Overall great place for Sunday Latin brunch! I will be back. Contact Alex for reservations, he will take care of you!

We went there for happy hour. Big surprise. Happy hour only applies if you sit at the bar. That means at one of the five chairs at the bar. So if you are going for happy hour I recommend you to find somewhere else. Service was really slow. We ordered bandeja Paisa and they pour bbq sauce on top of the chorizo. Terrible choice. Below average overall.

3.5 stars. I came here for Cinco de Mayo after work. Good deals– $ 4 margaritas, $ 2 tacos(chicken/beef/steak), complimentary chips/salsa/guac. Everything was quite tasty. Very festive and DJ was spinning fun music for the occasion. Service wasn’t great, though– kind of slow and unfriendly. Overall, decent but not exceptional. Might return for Happy Hour deals.

Food was average at best… but the party was bumping here on a sunday! And every night I’ve ever been, lol. Too bad my rating only reflects the food… Tried the carne guisada and the churrasco. The churrasco was definitely better of the two, but still not great. Not much flavor to the steak, and the salsa verde wasn’t too good either. The egg was eggcellent…(sorry for that play on words, lol). It’s hard to mess up an egg though, hah. Oh, had the beef empenadas too, which were super hard and not worth my time at all. The order of fruits I got for desserts was by far the best thing I ordered. They did a great job accommodating our huge party. Only had a few slips but our party did have like 20 some people… Music was good and dancing was fun

Parva has gotten a definite face lift since my last visit nearly 2 years ago. The walls are now all red versus the bone white they were last time. The service was wonderful and consistent as last time, and I enjoyed the music and my happy hour specials. I got their happy hour shredded beef tacos(3) and their electric margarita both for $ 4. Tasty and enjoyable. I have to admit the margarita had a heavy pour(thanks bartender), and I had to wait a little bit before departing their establishment. Who knew that one drink could bring you to your knees from happy hour no less! I am also notably a lightweight… Anyway, I’d have to say one of the better happy hours I’ve seen in the DC metro area. I hear this place gets pretty packed on weekend nights with live music and dancing in their upstairs lounge. Maybe I will get around to going there in another 2 hours or maybe sooner if I am ever up to going out in Bethesda.

My girlfriend and I went to Parva for brunch on a Sunday. I was not really happy for my first experience there. I ordered steak and eggs with home fries. Once I got my food I notice that my home fries where smash potatoes and my eggs did not have cheese on them. Once I started eating the waitress informed me that she gave me someone else order. She did offer to change my order by that time I was half way done with my food. I informed her not to worry about it and she did offer us dessert on the house.

This isn’t a review of the restaurant because I haven’t eaten there yet. I went there to dance on a Saturday night. I hosted a small birthday thing here on a Saturday and I think I made the perfect choice on location. Great alternative to making the trek to DC! Music was upbeat all night, guys were respectful, drinks were well-poured, and there was plenty of room to dance. All the makings of a great night. Only thing I could think of complaining about is that the floor gets wet a lot but the staff there was very on top of it and kept mopping it up. That normally left it sticky(and salsa, bachata are hard to dance on a sticky floor) but I appreciate how attentive they were to it. Good crowd. Good drinks. I will definitely come back. Even considering doing New Years Eve here. Seems like they have great event specials and the Manager JC seems to really care about making sure you have a good experience.

Went here last weekend for a friend’s bday. First time eating here, and it wasn’t that bad. Service was good, and their drinks was great. My friend ordered a margarita that had a taste of passion fruit or mango in it, it was super delicious. I didn’t give it 5 stars, because they cooked my steak well done when I asked for med rare. The other Food was good, empanadas were too small for me though(I’m a big guy, FatPeopleProblems).

OMG!!! DELICIOUS!!! All of the food is prepared fresh! The staff is extremely friendly! I ordered the PATACONRELLENOS I fell in love with this meal! I am in Bethesda for a conference and did not expect to find a local gem such as this. If you are super lucky your bartender will be Maria! Ask MARIA for a meal suggestion SHEWILLNOTLETYOUDOWN! They accommodate for food allergies! #bonus

So I went to this place because a friend of mine had a LivingSocial coupon. I had heard about it before. I don’t think I would describe this place as a «lounge.» There is no lounge feel here at all. It’s kind of basic inside. So the idea I had in my head and the reality was muy conflicto Ordered the chicken empanada. Pretty good, but nothing special. Ceviche was pretty good, and the plate for two with the sausage and beef was excellent. Really enjoyed it. The dipping sauces were very tasty. Prices are reasonable.

A review from my bed– mobile style : Oh Britny! Britny is my friend who decided that for her birthday she wanted to do a «Britny’s weird night out.» This night involved starting the party at Freddie’s Lobster and Clams, heading to 4935 Kitchen Bar, and then ending at Parva. Because 4935 wasn’t open, we ended up at Parva a little earlier then expected. Take the stairway up to the bar and as soon we entered, find a white room filled with smoke from a smoke machine, Latin music, and a bunch of reserved tables. I mean… this place just screamed«not my scene.» But, let’s give It a chance… experience different things. 15 dollar minimum for credit cards? Never mind. That’s ridiculous. How much are they charging you to run a credit card– 5 bucks? Is the mafia your credit processing provided? In any event, I stood and chatted, my friend grabbed me a beer. One of my other friends left because the bartender didn’t know how to make a martini, said she was gonna go get help, then didn’t and left my friend waiting at the bar for ten minutes. The crowd was a bit odd. Filled with people who kept bumping into me when there was more than enough room to pass. The DJ kept releasing fog from the fog machine into the small upstairs room like that was cool. I’m sorry– just everything about this place is «no thank– you.»
