YoFresh Yogurt Cafe

I’m genuinely confused how quickly frozen yogurt has taken off in the valley. There must be a market for it because I can think of 4 different frozen yogurt places within 10 minutes drive of my house. Interestingly enough, they’re all fairly similar, as well. Because I’m lactose intolerant, it’s a catch-​22 with eating anything dairy and enjoying myself later. Usually I’m okay with a half dozen or so lactaid pills.
That being said, the yogurt is an interesting novelty. The flavors change seasonally, and are interesting to say the least. I’ve enjoyed everything so far that I’ve tried. Toppings are numerous and some neat choices. I’m a purist, though, and usually only get either straight yogurt, or chocolate with some oreo toppings. No sense trying to be fancy.
Since we’re having such an adult conversation about calories and what a calorie bargain is, perhaps some people should understand that some people are watching what they eat, and frozen yogurt has less calories than ice cream.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a place for a quick dessert and are in the area, I recommend Yo Fresh!

While I thankfully have not tried very many of them I’ve tried this place and compared to So Fun! it’s simply not very good. (And that place might as well be called So What!)
The gimmick between the places are the same:
1. Only having one over-​sized cup that is designed to get you to overspend.
2. A wide range of toppings that range from pretty good down to the seriously grotesque.
3. Yogurt that is thin and runny to the point where it’s beginning to melt before you can even get it weighed.
I’m going to double down with Daniel H. on another reviewer with her inane «calorie bargain» comment. What the hell does that mean?
The yogurt tastes weak and the flavors are very unimaginative.
Who cares about getting a bargain on calories when the stuff tastes bad and you just paid a huge premium over going somewhere like The Cup where for less money you could have had something that actually had flavor and without all of the unnecessary BS and gimmicks along with five times the number of flavors.
In another year or two when the gimmick of Fro Yo has run it’s course this place and most like it will be toast.

I don’t get the «by the oz» frozen yogurt model. Yes I know it’s designed to get people to buy a giant thing of yogurt and pay out the behind for it. Very much a business model centered around luring in teenagers with their parents’ money.
Who the heck can afford $ 6 for a tiny cup of frozen yogurt?
It’s not even that good! The flavors were all pretty weak sauce and didn’t really stand out at all.
To the previous reviewer, what does «calorie bargain» even mean? Pay a lot for mediocre frozen yogurt? That doesn’t even make any sense.

OMG! Loved this place. Yogurt was so smooth and creamy. I loved the peanut butter yogurt. Customer service was great — there was someone by the machines handing out samples. Toppings were fresh. I will be back!

I think the first reviewer is new to the FroYo concept. As someone who’s not new to the concept, I’m going to give YoFresh a glowing review as it’s NOT a 1-​star quality place.
I grabbed a cup of yogurt here (first) in the week this location opened. I had been following the Allentown location on Twitter and was excited for the Bethlehem one to open. I think things were still a little bit new and staff was still learning the ropes. Not a big deal — self serve FroYo is pretty self explanatory. The only thing that’s a bit odd about this location is at first glance when you walk in the door you can’t see the yogurt dispensers.
So! If you’re planning to go here and you’re new to FroYo, here’s how it works: You start out in the back of the café, grab a cup, and pick your yogurt. There are signs above the yogurt dispensers which label the flavor and any other qualities — dairy free, low fat, no sugar added, premium, etc. If you’d like a sample, the staff is more than willing to help you out and give you a small sample cup. Fill your cup with your heart’s content of frosty goodness. Walk up to the toppings bar and pick your treats. Here’s a «captain obvious» news flash: the treats aren’t all low fat nor are they good for you. So if you’re watching calories, they offer lots of healthful options like almonds, coconut shreds, and fresh fruit. The yogurt ranges anywhere from 70 – 110 calories per 4 ounce serving. If you were to fill a cup to the brim it would be about 12 – 14 ounces of yogurt. Speaking of ounces, you pay by the ounce. Once you’ve topped off your yogurt creation, place it on the scale by the cashiers and see your total (damage). Expect to spend about $ 5 for a cup of yogurt with some toppings. This is pretty average compared to large chains like Pinkberry or Orange Leaf. Enjoy.
…And get tempted to enjoy a few more times. The yogurt is fantastic here. I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like. I’ve tried red velvet, Greek honey (awesomely tart), cake batter, macadamia nut, and no sugar added strawberry banana.
Yes, it’s a bit more pricy than your typical dairy aisle. However, it’s also a calorie bargain (the yogurt alone) compared to hard pack or soft serve ice cream as long as you don’t drown it in toppings. I recommend YoFresh and will keep coming back!
Oh! Also, don’t forget to ask for a punch card to get rewarded with free yogurt after so many visits. Great for the yogurt junkie like myself.

Unlike it’s clone So Fun! Yogurt. I gotta say this place is worse. The customer service is non-​existent. I swear no one showed up to explain the concept of anything until we were seemingly ready to pay. Anyways, unlike So Fun… this joint has it painted on their wall that their product is all non-​fat. Now that’s great but the buffet of toppings essentially throws the nonfat concept out the window. The one difference at this place is that they have two cups. A green & red one. We tried to see if they were any different in size but not so much. I am still not thrilled with the idea that you pay by the ounce but in no way shape or form is the price per ounce mentioned anywhere in the store.
I really want to go again and weigh the cup first to see if the cup is weighted down. Because when we went to So fun I got a lot of yogurt and paid about $ 5, at this joint I got a taste instead and still paid roughly $ 5…Just seems ridiculous. They do offer tasting cups (little ketchup holders)…you could probably sample every flavor if ya wanted and no one would be none the wiser.
