Amy Pell, Realtor

Amy exceeded our expectations in every way. We decided to sell our home and move across the country which is stressful enough. But the purchase of our new home was contingent on the sale of our current home. We knew the market hadn’t completely recovered and we’d have to take a loss on our house but had no idea how much. We interviewed a few different realtors. Amy stood out for a few reasons:
— She was extremely organized. Amy presented us with a packet of info including comps in the area, information on Coldwell Banker including the plethora of ways they would market our house both in print and online, referral letters from previous clients, etc. This organization continued through the sale of our home. Amy always showed up on time for meetings and early for house showings to make sure everything was in order. She made sure all paperwork was filled out properly and on time for both us and the buyers.
— She was very honest. Other realtors we interviewed inflated the amount we could sell our house for in the hopes of getting our business. As much as we would have liked to sell our house for that amount, we knew based on comps in the area that it wasn’t realistic. Amy gave us an honest competitive range resulting in the buyers driving up the price. In the end we had 10 offers. Amy went through each offer with us in detail, explaining that the highest monetary offer wasn’t always the strongest depending on down payment, loan, etc. She ranked the offers in order starting with the strongest and walked us through the pros and cons of each one.
— She is incredibly knowledgeable about real estate. We relied heavily on Amy’s advice regarding both the sale of our current house and the purchase of our new home. She helped us navigate everything from how to schedule open houses around Mother’s Day and how to restage our rooms to make them more appealing, to how to fill out disclosures and other information. Our buyer’s realtors were novices and Amy ended up helping them out as well, guiding them through the jumble of paperwork.
— She worked with us and was always available. Planning a cross-​country move while trying to sell your house and keep things «normal» for 2 small kids is no easy feat. Amy tried to make things as easy on us as possible. When she made recommendations on house staging that I knew would disrupt our daily routine with the kids, Amy said «no problem» and would work around it. She was also extremely communicative and made sure things like open houses and house showings didn’t in any way interfere with previously scheduled plans.
Amy made the sale of house house seem way too easy and made us feel like we were her only client at the time (which I know was not the case). I would highly recommend her to anyone else looking to buy or sell their home.

I truly can’t imagine having a better realtor than Amy Pell. Amy was recommended to my wife and I when we were having issues with our previous realtor and once we started working with Amy we noticed an immediate change for the better. The three attributes that set Amy apart for us are:
1. Available — Amy was available to us early in the mornings — late at night — weekends or weekdays — and even when Amy was out of town herself she not only made time for us, but it always felt like we were her only clients (which I know for a fact was not true).
2. Knowledgable/​Savvy — It’s one thing to be an expert at your craft (which Amy is). It’s another thing to be able to articulate your expertise to people who are new to the home-​buying process (a skill Amy also possesses). And it’s yet ANOTHER thing to be able to use your expertise and wisdom to get your clients the best deal possible for them. Amy showcased these abilities time after time as I believe my wife and I ended up making offers on 5 different properties before buying our first home. There are so many considerations and options that go into buying a home and Amy made sure there wasn’t a single thing that slipped through the cracks. All of our bases were covered with Amy as our realtor.
3. Honest/​Straight-​Forward — There is something incredibly refreshing about having someone on your side who will tell you the truth — even when it makes their job harder. In some ways, that is Amy Pell in a nutshell. Yes — Amy was positive and creative and always willing to help us think through ways to make a property work. But more importantly — she was always there to ask us good questions when we would start getting excited about a place that didn’t match the values that we had previously shared with Amy. She wasn’t afraid to tell us that she didn’t think a property was a good fit — or open our eyes to something that would become a huge headache 6 months down the road. The decisions were always up to us, but Amy protected us from overlooking things that we would temporarily forget about when we would get excited.
It’s not possible for me have a higher opinion of Amy Pell. She is excellent. She is tireless. And I can’t imagine anyone regretting working with Amy.

Amy has been our agent for about eight years. Here’s why: she is always prepared. And I mean that in every sense of the word. Example #1: When I was in Hong Kong for business… and needed to sign time-​sensitive documents in the middle of buying an investment property, Amy allowed me to ‘docu-​sign’ with my smart phone… in my hotel room. You really feel empowered when you work with people like this.
Example #2: We recently bought another house. We underbid by a small margin over the next bidder and still got the place. We simply knew how to approach the negotiations… we knew what the sellers valued in the deal. We were still surprised to get the house… but Amy was helping us all the way through. When I forget something… which is about every-other-day…Amy keeps the ball rolling. When we need to negotiate, Amy has really great instincts… or maybe it’s just depth of experience… or that she knows so many great people who are also great professionals. When you work with Amy, you work with all the great people she believes in as well. Amy is as good as it gets.

I cannot say enough about the exceedingly positive experience I had working with Amy Pell to sell my townhome. Amy worked quickly, efficiently, and tirelessly. She was very motivated, and moved quickly and decisively through every stage of the process. At that same time, she consulted with me regarding every decision that had to be made before proceeding. Amy always stayed in communication with me, and I was never left wondering what was happening.
Amy’s follow through is impeccable and no details slipped through the cracks. All marketing materials and paperwork related to the sale were prepared in a timely manner. I had complete confidence that she would keep us on track and that all deadlines would be met.
In addition, Amy has a very positive «can do» attitude and does not let any bumps in the road effect her ability to keep moving forward. I felt very confident that Amy could handle any situation that might occur during the sales process.
My home sold quickly and for more than the asking price, in part because of Amy’s superb negotiating skills. I am extremely happy regarding how Amy handled the sale of my home, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in selling or purchasing a home. She is the best!

I called about some houses I wanted questions for in the Santa Monica inland area. She was great and responsive. I did not end up using her because I knew another realtor, but she answered all my questions and seemed to be a good realtor.
