Stopped in today to see if we could order things for a birthday party coming up. I walk in and there are balloons but No real method of organization… So I’m walking around to see if there were any frozen balloons and this lady rudely tells me that they are doing inventory and not to run around. And I’m irritated because she was really rude and so i tell her, sorry I was just looking for a display of a menu of what you offer. Then she says no we don’t have a menu but that they do whatever we want… asks if we have a theme. I say frozen and she says we do this or that and what not but that she’s too busy to help me… I ask if there’s a website and she says yes but makes sure to say but there are no prices. Given the past experiences and her bizarre demeanor, I’m thinking that this no price thing is totally not surprising… And I say sure I’ll take a look… She kicks off again about how they’re super busy and they can’t talk now to which I say ya of course that’s why I was looking for a menu or some book that shows what you do… And this lady… You guys I kid you not… Tells me «if I start serving burgers then I’ll get a menu…»
Like, come on… Seriously? So I will spend my mommy guilt money elsewhere… Because you can be shady about pricing or rude to me but you can’t be both. Especially over balloons

These people are awful! I have done business with them two times and both time I rerated. They want to cheat you every time even if it’s only for one dollar.

Best customer service, the lady at the counter was so nice, planned my event, told me what I needed to buy, and gave me an excellent deal. Will for sure come back for future events, and I will definitely tell my friends anout it.

Balloon Lagoon is the only place to shop for stunning balloon bouquets and arrangements. The owner of this wonderful shop, has designed one-​of-​a kind balloon arrangements since my son’s first birthday party… And 13 years later we are still thrilled each time we see another one of his beautiful creations!!! He is a true artist and perfectionist. He and his wife go out of their way to provide the most excellent customer service experience and they treat you like family. He will design each bouquet with all his heart and soul. Truly a wonderful artist and an amazing person. Thank you for all your beautiful creations… Truly works of art.

i was at the nails shop next door, JB Nails, best nail shop ever! I was parked in one of the spaces that belongs to JB Nails. Upon exiting the nail salon to go to my car I noticed there was a van behind me. I asked the nail tech who the van belongs to. She told me it belonged to the tenant next door at Balloon Lagoon. I went around the front and opened the entrance door to Balloon Lagoon and asked a man who was there if the van was his and if he would be able to move it so I could exit. I did not get a reply from him. He was standing about 20 feet away from me. So I asked again. He came walking towards me with his finger pointed at me telling me I better slow down or he won’t move the care. I asked him what he was talking about. He repeated himself then physically and violently pushed me out of the way of the front entrance door, where I was standing. He then locked the door. A woman in there, another employee, started hitting him in shame for what he did to me. I yelled to him that I was going to call the police. I went back to the ally where my car was parked to call the police. As I was doing that, he walked out to the back where I was and took a picture of me and my license plate and said he would get me if I reported him. The police came and I told them my story and he told them nothing happened. What a lie! I later heard that this man, who is Asian with black hair who works at Balloon Lagoon, is always cursing out customers who frequent the tenants in that area. STAY AWAY! ESPECIALLY LADIES!

Terrible customer service. Unhelpful. Unresponsive to phone calls. Unable to bring up simple records of transactions. Sorry I bothered you.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. BUSINESS ONLY KIND OF EXISTS.
I arrived at the store mid-​day on Saturday, when they are supposed to open to find it closed with a note on the door that due to the nature of the business, they sometimes close without notice. NOT a great business model.
A woman and her tween daughter walked up while I was reading and preparing to call the number on the note and she couldn’t believe they were closed. She’d come by earlier in the week, picked out an arrangement and told them she’d be back Saturday to pick it up. They never let her know they were closing.
While she was still there, I called the number and the man on the phone informed me that sometimes events happen– «with one day notice» and they have to close the shop. He suggested I try Ralphs.
Why not be an e-​commerce site? How can they maintain the rent on Robertson Blvd? So inconsiderate and plain stupid. Hire a student to work the counter on the weekends if there is such demand that the staff all «attend events» on what I would assume would be busier days for the store front.
Honestly, just stupid, illogical and inconsiderate.

The lady in here is so rude. She talks to people with this attitude that you can tell is completely normal to her. Even hearing her talk to customers over the phone the way she did was uncomfortable. Only reason I gave it two stars is because they do have a big selection of balloons.

Don’t bother ! It’s a Saturday 11 am. Not open. I’ve tried numerous times to get balloons from here. There is NEVER anyone there. The sign says «due to the nature of our Business we may not be in»
Really? Most people open a store front so customers will come in, buy your product, tell a friend, they tell two friends, so on and so on. How could it not be worth their while to hire an employee to open the store? Basically they are saying customers aren’t worth their time.
So long ballon lagoon, off to give my money to a business that appreciates customers.

Amazing! I love the custom balloon bouquet they made for me. They even helped me pack it into the backseat of my car. I will definitely be back for more!

I am at other stores on Robertson about once a week. In the last two years, Balloon Lagoon has been open twice. The woman that runs it was the rudest person ever. She is not interested in helping or talking to customers. The first time I was actually inside was around March of 2012. The next time we were looking at the balloons and told they were closed. Again, very rude.
Yesterday, at 1pm on a Saturday, we needed to order a whole lot of balloons for a birthday party next weekend. We walked up and saw the sign said closed. I was shocked as it was a Saturday at 1pm. The lights were on and people were inside.
We went to Rosebud cakes and ordered an amazing cake. We were going back to our car when we saw a man and woman walking out of Balloon Lagoon with balloons. We asked the man if we could place an order. He got a look of fright on his face. He said he didn’t know if we could but would ask. He went inside and we were standing inside when the same awful woman came up looking totally bothered. I asked of we could please place an order for a birthday party. She said no. She told me they were closed and to call on Tuesday to find out when they would be open. She said they are closed on Sunday and Mondays. She said they are open 11am-​4pm, Tuesday-​Saturday but not always open during those hours either. I asked if they have animal balloons. She said no. (Mind you they have a wall full of animal balloons right next to where we were all standing)
She told me they really only do big things and pointed to a massive balloon bouquet. I have no idea why she assumed that I didn’t want a large bouquet. I actually would have but this woman is like an angry troll. With an angry look on her face she said, «You have to go, call on Tuesday to see if we are here. I have a balloon emergency now and I have to work on it!» A balloon emergency? Her only emergency is lack of customer service!
There is ZERO customer service. I have no idea how they have stayed in business. When I told people of my experience, several different people told me they had similar experiences there and never went back.
I will find a better place to get balloon bouquets and balloons and I will send everyone to the better place.
Perhaps the owner ought to learn how to treat people and to actually be open regular hours. I will never try to go to Balloon Lagoon again and I will let my friends and the event planners I know, to stay away.

Balloon Lagoon does an excellent job! Very friendly owners who have lots of creative ideas for decorating. I highly recommend this business.

i barely even finished my questions, and the issue of budget never even came up yet, and i was informed that perhaps i should «look for another more affordable location.» B@%ch you obviously don’t know who i am, i will buy and sell your ass three times over…

We pre-​ordered balloons for my sons birthday a couple months ago. The lady who was there was kind of rude, but we ordered (and pre-​paid) for 2 dozen balloons since we were there. They didn’t seem to care about our business because it was only 24 balloons. When we went to pick them up — we had to wait anyway because they never did the order until we were in the shop the morning of the birthday.
Today, I wanted to place an order for some balloons for my other son’s birthday in a couple days. I picked this place again because it was close by forgetting the rudeness from last time. Again, we only wanted 24 balloons. They refused to take the order on the phone and told me to just come in that morning that they don’t want to take the time to write up a small order. So instead of just being able to run in and pick up some pre-​ordered balloons, we were told we would have to go in a wait for them on the morning of the party. Pass. They are rude, unfriendly, and could not care less about small orders. They make their money on huge balloon orders but do not care about servicing a small order. If you are not a business who doesn’t care what you pay, I would say PASS ON BALLOON LAGOON. THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT.

I love this place! My family used Balloon Lagoon back in 1983 and 1985 for a couple of parties. Then, after not seeing them for nearly 20 years, I walked into their store as an adult, and they recognized me, and remembered my entire family!
These are two of the nicest, most helpful people you’ll ever meet. They go to amazing lengths to accommodate the customers, and always do so with pleasure and warmth. Beyond that, their selection is amazing. My friends and family are always thrilled when I bring them a balloon bouquet from Balloon Lagoon. I would definitely recommend this place over any other for their superior customer service and selection.

I have ordered from Balloon Lagoon for the past few years and their bouquets have always pleased my girlfriend (s). They are innovative and always have new bouquets that are unique and different. I highly recommend them for all occasions.

Correctly charging sales tax on the order? Bzzzz — No
Ok, called ‘em up a few days before V Day and they were very helpful if, understandably, a bit rushed in the days before a big holiday for them. The description of what you get for close to $ 100 could have been a bit more helpful («It’s big, it’s nice, it’s like 6 feet tall!» um, could you please be MORE vague?). They also called me the morning of Feb 14 to confirm what I wanted on the card because they recognized that particular piece of the order was critical — nice touch.
BUT, they also charged a whopping $ 35 delivery charge AND charged me sales tax on that charge. When I said I didn’t think CA requires sales tax to be charged on delivery fees, their response was, «that’s what our accountant tells us do to.» Ok, so because you receive erroneous advice from your accountant, I have to suffer? Not right.
