I am astounded by the reviews. This doctor took care of me from 2011 – 2012. The staff is cold at times but it is a very busy office. The Dr. Is also very elderly so years later he must be experiencing burn out and feebleness. He is very experienced, but I think new patients may want to let him attend to his long-​term/​time patients and go with someone middle-​aged who stays current, attends seminars, conventions, is celebrated, etc.

This doctor is quite the scam artist. He gave me a written referral for a CT scan. When I arrived at the CT scan the following week, they told me Dr. Barcohana would not approve the CT scan and I had to call him to find out why.
He asked me to come back to his office for blood tests. I went to his office a few days later and fasted for a scheduled blood test. When i arrived he told me he was too busy to do the blood test (just crazy). He charged me the copay but did not do the blood tests he asked me to schedule at his office. he then had the nerve to ask me to come back the next week. I wasted 3 visits with him and had to search for an new physician. I think he was trying to keep me coming in every week to charge me the co-​pay and keep his cash flow strong.
I try not to be critical of people who have trouble speaking English properly, but when it comes to something as serious as your health, i suggest finding a doctor that you can clearly understand when they speak (whichever language is preferable to you). I could not fully understand much of what he was saying. Big problem if you can’t communicate with your doctor.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR. On a side note, his staff if EXTREMELY RUDE. They won’t acknowledge you when you walk in. You literally have to shout at them to get their attention, except when they are ready to collect your CASH ONLY payment. Then, they are polite. After you pay they ignore you again.

I don’t think anyone likes to go to the Dr, but when you do I highly recommend this Dr’s office, very professional, thorough & caring. 5 stars without a doubt!

This doctor for sure is after money. The first thing he did was checking my insurance. He didn’t even do a full check up on me. And here is the funny part the prescription he wrote for me the med does not even exist and the pharmacy said they would call and they never replied back to pharmacy.
Worst doctor I ever been to. He even told me «no more questions I don’t have enough time». WOW. And they do not take any sort of card payment. Only cash.

Got this doctor randomly assigned to me and saw these reviews but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Wow, were all these reviews correct.
First of all, the entire office is so hot that I feel sicker when I go in. Absolutely unbearable. The office ladies ignore you until you say «hello?» when at the counter. They’re the slowest, most indifferent people I’ve ever encountered — and I have grown up in BH, so that’s saying something. I also waited AN HOUR AND A HALF past my appointment time and had to leave to feed my meter and everything. Absurd.
Thirdly, Doctor Barcouhana himself: I’ve never been so rushed or frazzled in my life. He only listened to me for a moment and I had to ask him to be quiet so I could finish telling him about my symptoms. He truly would not let me speak. I had 2 things worrying me, and regarding the second, after about 3 minutes with him in the office, he told me «you can talk to me about that later». He makes no effort to be understood. Spent a couple moments with me and threw a prescription at me without bothering to let me know what it will do to my body.
If you get assigned this doctor, call and find another one.
I feel awful leaving bad reviews and always take them with a pinch of salt, but feel it necessary to leave this one since this is people’s time and health at stake.

Worst doctors experience I’ve ever had. I know my acl is torn because I’ve torn it before, and my PT and old orthopedist both said they are 99% sure its my acl again. Yet Dr. Barcohana looked at it for about 8 seconds and told me he didn’t think anything was wrong. He was completely dismissive of everything I told him, he wouldn’t send me to get an MRI, and wouldn’t send me to an orthopedist. Terribly depressing experience, I just want to get my knee fixed so I can go back to doing the things I love.

Dr. Retard is his nickname I have given him. Worst doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. Doesn’t examine you and doesn’t listen. He rather give you a prescription of some sort of antibiotic before testing you. He acts like he doesn’t understand what you need. He is the biggest idiot I know. Don NOT go to him. I am in the process of changing doctors at the present time. I have been forced to see him because of my HMO insurance.

FINDING A DECENT DOCTOR TAKES SOME RESEARCH!

The absolute worst experience I have ever had going to a doctor.
Dr. Barcohana was randomly assigned to me by my HMO, so I made a new patient appointment. Although I needed to have a physical anyway, I had also been in a car accident a few days before I made the appointment and my back was feeling sore, so I wanted to get that checked out too.
Let me start with the office — it was very small with a tiny waiting room. I had shown up for my appointment not only on time, but about 15 min early as I knew I would need to fill out some new patient paperwork. Upon checking in, the front desk staff took my name and then told me to wait. Every single chair in the waiting room (about 6) was full, and so I was forced to stand in front of the door that was constantly being opened because there was literally no other space. When a seat finally opened up I sat down and waited awhile, then went up to the desk again to ask about the paperwork. They gave it to me and I filled it out and brought it back up. They then charged me my copay, which had to be cash or check because they don’t accept credit cards. Really? It’s 2014, get with the program.
I waited for nearly an hour past my appointment time, which in and of itself is unacceptable. Finally, one of the staff motioned for me to come to the door because apparantly she couldn’t be bothered to call my name (it’s not difficult to pronounce).
I was brought into an exam room by one of the nurses who began to take my vitals. While she was still doing so, the doctor walked in, said something to her, and then began asking me questions without even introducing himself or shaking my hand. Every doctor I have ever been to has greeted me and introduced him or herself the first time we met. He also had a very thick accent & was difficult to understand — when I asked him to repeat himself he seemed annoyed. He asked me some questions about my back/​the accident and had me stand up and asked me where it hurt. He did not do any other examination. He just wrote me a prescription for Motrin and told me to come back for a full exam if I wanted to sue the guy, and then kind of rushed me out. At this point I didn’t really care because I knew I did not want to return to this doctor, and my 2 hour street parking was almost expired.
So bottom line — tiny uncomfortable office, unfriendly and inefficient staff, extremely unprofessional and uncaring doctor. Thankfully my HMO allows me to choose another doctor because I will not be returning here.

I dont know why everyone is hating on this man. I mean everyone has different experiences and of course when it comes to your health you are going to be more critical but I thought he did a fine job. His bedside manner was kind and polite, he listened to me and told me a plan of action to heal what is wrong with me. He didnt try to over medicate or rush me out of his office. I felt like I was in experienced hands. He told me that I will be ok and that he will follow up with me to check in on me in a couple of weeks and if I have any problems to e-​mail or call him.
The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the actual office needs a paint job and some equipment.

I didn’t come here because I want to, but more like I have to, since my insurance was HMO and I was assigned to this doctor. Didn’t find out about the Civil Surgeon info until I got to the doc’s office, so it was too late by then. It didn’t take long for me to finally see him, but he was so old and he barely checked my breathing, my pulse before he determined that I’m very healthy. I was appalled and the nurses, don’t even get me started on those.
First of all, the nurses are the ones by the window, none of them were smiling or looked friendly. Then, it seems like all they care is money and let you out of the office asap. Then, I asked if I could get my result from my blood test to be sent to me and they said, please make another appointment so they can get the copay out of me while only giving me the paper result.
Sorry people, if this is your doctor, I don’t think he’s doing a good job at all. I’m in the process of changing the doctor for my HMO, hopefully I’ll get a better one and also with less steep parking charges cause this freakin’ doctor is in Beverly Hills, parking was like $ 3/​20mins

1. staff treats you like you are born yesterday, lies about referal submissions.
2.dr acts like he is stupid and like he can’t understand what you are saying. if you ask a nisad he treats you like you are looking for heroin.
3.only open 3 days a week.

Not recommended. Rude staff. Indifferent doctor. Just wrote a prescription and sent me on my way. He had no interest in trying to find out what was wrong. Keep looking.
