The way Dr. Takahashi and her assistant handled us was remarkable: The treatment and care for the cat, the way the service was given, the handling of the cat owner losing a beloved cat, their entire work was excellent.
We saw Dr. Takahashi to help us with our 15 year old cat Pepe, who stopped eating and was lethargic.
After analyzing the cat’s blood data, she told us that the cat’s condition is grave. She gave him some antibiotics and other injected medication, and we took Pepe home where he was calm for the night.
Per Dr. Takahashi’s instructions I brought Pepe back the next morning, and the old cat’s condition did not improve. There appeared to be no choice but euthanize Pepe. I saw the sadness in the Dr’s eyes and I knew that there was no hope.
Pepe was comforted in the best possible way and received an injection relaxing him. We petted him as he was relaxing, and then he was put to sleep as Dr Takahashi petted him and listened to the cat’s heartbeat.

Because I had heard good things about Dr. Winters and the other docs and staff here, a friend and I took another friend’s 100 lb. Lab for a nail trim. (in a Volkswagon, no less!) The dog’s owner has been in the hospital. This sweet, 13 yr. old dog has arthritis, and his nails made walking even more difficult. Danny, a kind tech brought Alex in from the car for us. They assessed that the nails could be trimmed normally… not in increments. They weren’t too long. AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN HIS WALKING afterwards! Then kind Dr. Winters checked him over. Alex, was in good shape. The price of our visit was amazingly reasonable. We like that we could walk in without an appt. early in the day. The regular vet was a distance away, and the owner and we agreed to come here. Natalie, with whom I’d spoken by phone, was sweet and helpful. A nice young woman helped Alex back into the VW. I love the homey, one story small-​town looking office.

I have 2 bouviers (1 is a rescue) 1 cat (rescue) and 1 new cat that just showed up at my door. I have been going here for 5 years, and they are the BEST. They always accommodate you to get your pet in asap. All the vets are knowledgable and friendly and will spend time with you and your animal. Whether it’s just routine, or something more serious, this is the only place in LA to go with your furry friends.

Honestly, the dr’s are so sweet and very helpful, but the secretaries/​girls at the front desk are extremely rude, unhelpful, and act like they hate their jobs. Each time I call, go for a visit– no matter how nice I am– they have some kind of attitude. The phone calls are so unhelpful, they don’t take matters into their own hands, and they don’t help you out with finding anything. «Oh I don’t know. Call back next week» like they don’t want to deal with the problem to try and help you out. It’s honestly ridiculous. They look and talk to you like you’re an Idiot, and half the time they’re talking about their social life.
It’s so unfortunate, because the doctors and the other on hands staff are super nice… But the girls at the front desk really bring down this establishment. I highly suggest rehiring the people at the front.

Good with your pets, friendly, understanding, nice doctors. Bad with pet passport docs and international travel. As pet travel is a time sensitive, costly thing its really important its handled well. I was overcharged, made a bit of a pigs ear getting all the docs together, wrong information and then charged for a couple of things that weren’t needed on top as well as a rush fee and a slightly humiliating heated discussion regarding the timing and final cost of everything. Yes for family vet. No no no for international travel. they were inexperienced in this. Overall I really like this vet. I just would not recommend them for international travel.

I moved here from out of state & was having a hard time finding a good Vet & no matter who I talked to they all told me to come here. I hesitated due to the fact it’s located in Beverly Hills & the only thing I thought about is how expensive it might be. BUT … they’re VERY reasonable in pricing; very fair & don’t perform unnecessary exams/​tests. :)
We saw Dr. Winters & he was simply amazing w/​my cat & she hates everyone LOL BUT loved him. She’s really old & has some health issues but the entire staff was great; professional, patient & caring.
The only note I would make is this office is located in a small/​cute house turned into an office & when I was looking for it I passed it twice! LOL So don’t look for the A-​Typical office building… this is so much better! ;)
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new vet or looking to switch vets.

We are new here with my Lizzy. But any time we come people are nice and helpful. They are on the top of their business for sure. No overcharging! No rudeness!

I was a new client today, and took my elderly Chihuahua, Phoebe, in today for an exam and vaccinations. We are new to the area, so my ultimate goal was to establish a new veterinarian for my «fur kids.» The first thing that I want to mention is that they do have times where walk in appointments are taken (check their website for details). I love a place that takes walk ins! With a busy life, its great to know this is an option! We saw Dr. Winters for Phoebe’s appointment today. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. We were very satisfied with our visit with him! Upon checking out, the office staff was very helpful! And I must mention too that I felt their prices were reasonable! Also, they have an online pharmacy and your medications, flea prevention, etc can ship right to your door! BHSAH has a new happy client!

After having on-​going complications with my English Bulldog puppy, that no other vet in WeHo could seem to figure out, the vet gods were on my side because I was randomly approached by a woman on the street who had raised five Bulldogs and she told me that I needed to get an appointment at BHSAH.
Apparently this place is great with the Bulldog breed.
Dr. Takahasi and Dr. Winters are very knowledgable vets when it comes to Bulldogs.
One thing I like the most is that my dog is seen by the same vet every visit. There is no need to have to repeatedly explain your dog’s symptoms and history each time you go to the office. Not only that, the doctors are very consistent with keeping in touch about your dog’s progress. (They call every day/​return calls promptly)
Since I have recently moved I am sad that I will have to find a trusting vet’s office all over again. Hopefully the vet gods will come again.

I’m blessed by this place. We have been using them for year when our Lhaso Apso or Yorkie/​chihuahua fell under the weather. They are amazing… and affordable… and yes, they are in the heart of BH… right across from the Mercedes Benz Dealership.
Anyhow, they saved our Yorkie’s life through their care and kindness… kidney problem. I cried a lot last Saturday, brought my baby home to comfortably move to the next life… but he said No Way… and is know kicking ass at 14 years old.

We adopted two dogs just over a year ago — and one is a «problem child»… I have been to the vet probably enough to count my trips on two hands. I am so glad that a neighbor told me about BHSAH. Not only is the staff courteous, understanding and pleasant, but having a place available when I need it is the best. They open early and accept walk ins throughout the day at no additional charge. Speaking of charges, their costing for office visits is not necessarily «low cost,» but it is definitely reasonable, especially when they have so many other good things going for them. Today they even gave me a «courtesy discount». And yes, they do mark up meds a bit and those are not priced at «online pricing» — but for things that you NEED NOW because your dog is itching and scratching and has wounded himself with that, they will have you covered at a reasonable price.
Bottom line — no one loves to go to the doctor, but BHSAH makes it as pleasurable as possible with warm and caring staff.

Have enjoyed going there recently. They are on top of things and are also open when you drop in with an emergency.

This place was convenient, reasonably priced, and the staff quite nice.
Dealing with a sick pet sucks. My mom’s cat Sassy was healthy for 6 years, no vets. Then I visited here. They were professional and caring. Dr. Takahashi had a professional and friendly bed-​side manner with the cat. And while eventually it was determined my mom’s cat’s cancer had progressed too far (by other oncological tests and specialists they recommended), they gave great tests and walked me through each possible next step very compassionately. Thank you

Dr. Winters had taken care of my cat Peaches for 17 years up through the first shots to the end of his life. That says a lot. We saw both Dr. Winters and Dr. Suehiro. Peaches had an eye problem and Dr. Winters treated it and then referred him to an ophthalmologist in the Valley because it recurred. Once the same diagnosis was confirmed, I continued to take Peaches to Dr. Winters for the eye problem. We were well cared for. Peaches was indoor-​outdoor and once got bitten. The bite got infected and once again, Dr. Winters took good care of Peaches. He had a hole and I was told to put hydrogen peroxide into the wound. It looked bad. We got antibiotics. The wound healed nicely.
Peaches got kidney disease and he was on «kitty dialysis» for a year. Sadly, at age, 17, I had to have him put down 9 years ago.
I got Harley (Davidson Biker Dude), yes, a tough kitty and not compliant like Peaches.
9 years ago in February, Harley got his intro to Dr. WInters. Harley was a nipper and Dr. Winters advised me he would not outgrow it and to return him. I had bonded as the little kitty had a sniffle and slept curled up on my side. Dr. Winters said to pray. Well, Harley still is a handful. He has calmed down and still nips. But, he is a loving tuxedo cat.
Rascal swallowed 3 feet plus of a ribbon from my pajama bottoms last week. He was upchucking what I thought should have been hairballs. I had no idea he had eaten the 3 foot long ribbon. Friday, when I came home two feet of ribbon was sticking out of his butt. And he was freaking. I cut the ribbon leaving 3 inches. We saw Dr. Takahashi Sat at 7 A M.
She took excellent care of Harley. And, he was not cooperating and would not have anything to do with an ultrasound, at least not awake. She gave the worst case scenario which was not good which included ER, ultrasound and possible surgery to get the remaining foot of ribbon out. The best scenario was if the ribbon was in his colon. She did an xray and sent it to the surgeon at the ER facility for a second opinion. The good news was it had not caused placating of the intestine and the surgeon also suggested a «wait and see» approach.
Dr. Winters had come in and he agreed.
Harley passed the remaining foot Sunday and Dr. Takahashi called punctually at 7 A M Monday and I gave her the good news.
I felt we were well-​cared for and liked that Dr. Takahashi sent the xray to the surgeon for a second opinion to confirm her diagnosis and also if surgery had been needed, all was in place.
Harley is indoors so does not need the annual vet visits that Peaches had. So, we go infrequently. I think it had been 9 years since Harley went to Dr. Winters. He may have had his nails trimmed once. We were as well cared for as if he had been a «regular».
He had a heart murmer but it could have been stress related or due to being dehydrated. We will follow up in six months.

This is my Third Review of BHSAH, (4 dogs and nearly 14 years or going there)
1. Dr. Ford Suehiro is an incredible vet, and the staff couldn’t have been more compassionate and profesional.
2. The previous summer we had a HUGE dental emergency with one of our Danes, the staff went beyond any expectation to accommodate the situation. A horrible mound turned into a molehill — very grateful for this.
3. One of the New vets is Dr. Takahashi — and our newest puppy had a mystery illness. Vomiting, diarrhea, no appetite, yet clean blood work, and nothing on x-​rays… She took care of our pup, constantly returning phone calls, watching over the pup — she didn’t do tons of random tests — and the pup is all healthy! …

Waited 30 minutes without an appointment which is great. Very friendly staff and helpful vet who recommended the best for my cat’s cut. Street parking is metered and can get full quickly. Will book appointments in the future to further limit the wait. Affordable and knowledgeable… What more can you ask for?

This place is great. All the doctors are really helpful and caring. I highly recommend it.

Their staff is very friendly and made me feel much better about spaying my cat. All went well with little Levi. Their very prompt and easy to make an appointment with! Cute building too.

I’ve been taking my pets to BHSAH for over 7 years. These include my dog Lani (RIP), cat Zasu (RIP), and cats Molly and Frankie. My pets have been treated by four of the vets here, including Dr. Winters and Suehiro.
I’ve brought my pets in for a variety of reasons and problems, big and small. Lani had a brain tumor or lesion. Dr. Winters was very upfront that she definitely had a brain problem, thoughtfully outlined what those could be, and what the diagnostics would be to discover it, how much those would cost, and what the ultimate treatment could be/​cost. We decided, based on Lani’s age, to put her to sleep. Since it was the week of Thanksgiving, he suggested we have that holiday together, and do it Friday. Unfortunately, she had a seizure Thanksgiving morning and it couldn’t wait. But — he was right. She was very sick, and no amount of tests would have fixed it. He was sensitive and caring throughout the process.
Last week, my sweet little Molly was attacked by a coyote, and survived. I brought her in and surgery was performed to put drains in, and she was given antibiotics and pain medicine. I had to take her back once, because she was still running a high fever and not eating. I brought her back a week later to have the drains removed. I was not charged for that visit, nor for a quick follow up to look at an area I was concerned about. Molly is miraculously on the mend, eating, drinking, and being herself. Dr. Suehiro called me frequently to update me on her status when she was there, and to check up on her when she got home. The total cost for her four visits was very, very reasonable. I felt her care was excellent, and I was provided ample information on all issues.
I have read the negative reviews here, and that is not my experience, at all. I have not been «up charged». No additional items have ever been added to my bills, that we didn’t discuss and I didn’t approve. I’ve never felt pressured to do expensive tests which weren’t really necessary (as I was at other facilities).
I can understand the heartbreak when a pet passes away, or there’s a feeling that a diagnosis was missed or more could have been done. Animals are not people, and they can’t tell the doctor what hurts, or what’s wrong. In my view, these vets do an excellent job, are compassionate with their care and treatment, and don’t take advantage of us humans to gauge money out of us in a bad situation.
