I just returned from a holiday in Australia, which included Sydney, Cairns, and Melbourne. I was there through Christmas and New years. I’ve always planned my own holidays, but now I have claimed Jim Berkeley as my own travel agent. What he planned for me and my accommodations were fantastic! I was very, very pleased. He took care of everything.

My husband and I have been traveling with Jim Berkeley and DAI Travel since 2004.
We’ve been on several cruises and land tours. We’ve eaten in a Monastary in Russia and a goat cheese farm in France. We’ve been kayaking in Croatia and snorkeling in Tahiti. I can’t say enough about the staff at DAI. Any last minute changes are always handled without any problem. Our last cruise was supposed to end in Athens, Greece the day of a strike so Jim Berkeley got us off the ship a day early and flew us to Istanbul for 4 days. Our hotel and tours and meals all arranged at the last minute and all wonderful. We will be traveling with DAI for years to come and would recommend you do too.

I first came across Destinations & Adventures (DAI Travel) while reading Conde Nast Traveler’s list of top travel agents (
). I was planning my honeymoon to Egypt and was looking for the best agent (experience + value). Conde Nast recommended Jim Berkeley at DAI Travel and had awarded DAI Travel the best travel agency for the Middle East for 8 years straight. The honeymoon was phenomenal. Jim Berkeley and his team did an amazing job.
Some highlights:
* Tour guides were simply fantastic. Our guide in Jordan went to the photography store to get me a tripod for free so we could shoot photos of Petra at night. In addition to teaching us about the sites, he also spent time teaching me photography. The guide also climbed up to the Petra monastery even though he didn’t have to. He wanted to make sure we got up safely.
* All our hotel rooms were the best you could get for the price. In Egypt, our room faced the Nile. On the Nile cruise, we were on the top floor.
* We had a surprise happy honeymoon cake in every hotel (we got 6 cakes total)
* Jim surprised us with a complimentary steak dinner with wine to congratulate us for the wedding
* Tickets sold out at the Great Pyramid but our guide STILL got us in.
* We changed our mind about the itinerary while in Egypt and Jim’s team made the updates seamlessly
* Itinerary was so cleverly crafted so we avoided all the crowds. We shot pristine photos of the pyramids without anyone there. We went to the Egyptian museum when it was super quiet. Great planning overall.
* My wife and I wanted to hike up Mount Sinai as fast as possible. The tour guide offered to carry our bags and ran up the mountain with us. We did it in 1 hr 20 minutes. The guide setup a great spot to watch the sunset where there was little wind and put blankets and mats down so we could rest.
Destinations and Adventures is simply the best travel agency I’ve encountered. I plan on using them again in the future.
