First of all, I would like to second what Johnathan B. has said about Dr. Friedman’s handing out of pills like candy while rushing you quickly out the door. But what is worse is that he needs to be reported to the psychiatric board of health for a few reasons. When I told him that I wanted off of Klonopin because it wasn’t helping any longer after many years of use, he said«well, if you go off then your anxiety is going to come back.» This was over a year ago. I passively said ok and stayed on them. Well, more than a year later, now trying to get off of benzos and in pure physical and mental agony which will last years, I have read anything and everything online and talked to peers about this class of drugs. If you continue taking them long-term(which he had me on them for years), your anxiety actually worsens and your gaba receptors are damaged. So, no only did he refuse to obey my request as the patient, he lied to me. Then, after getting frustrated with me over the phone one evening because one of the drugs he callously put me on was causing painful fx, he cut me off as a patient. This is illegal and considered patient abandonment. Two friends reported him but it is very hard to prove this since it was over the phone. This doctor is dangerous. He should no longer be practicing medicine. PLEASE speak up about this doctor! And most importantly, do not take benzos for longer than 2 weeks or you become physically dependent and will very likely go through a lot of pain to get off.

I’ve seen Dr. Friedman for 5 months now. If you are just looking to get scripts and go. This is your Doc! The sessions are so quick and painless that I am quite sure Barry wouldn’t recognize me if walked past each other on the street. However, there are times when you are in the waiting room for an hour before seeing him… so I guess it averages out the visit time to that of a visit to a Doctor that pays closer attention to their patients. I was motivated to Unilocal regarding Doctor Friedman because I had to miss a session for personal reasons. I understand that if there is a no-show, there is a charge. The charge is $ 65 with no cushion for first-time offenses. So be forewarned … This guy may not give you the full attention that you need and doesn’t have a problem charging you more than double your copay if you have a personal crisis. Personally, I don’t have time right now to seek out a new physician. But I do have time to give you a heads-up.
