Linage Dermatology Institute

Linage is just around the corner from my office and they have great specials for laser treatments, so I decided to give it a shot. The physician’s assistant put some numbing cream on my face and the procedure was very quick and not very painful. The wait time between the numbing cream to the laser took the longest and everyone was kind and welcoming.
My appointment was at 9AM so I expected to be the first one there, but there were already 4-​people in the waiting area. Luckily, they are organized and had sent me the new patient forms via email and I was in a room without any wait. They have Groupon deals, so it drives in a lot of people that would be paying much higher rates, especially in Beverly Hills. They will honor the Groupon rate if you bring it in without having to purchase it which is super convenient. I don’t like buying Groupons or dealing with coupons, so this was ideal for me.
They rescheduled me once because the laser wasn’t available or maybe the technician, but not a big deal since they are super close to me and called me in advance to let me know.
Free 2-​hour parking right across the street makes it easy.

This is a long overdue review… This review is mostly for Tiwilla RN! She is the nurse that performed the Matrix and CO2. She is very nice, kind, and professional. I just feel at ease with her. The office staffs are also nice. I have not met Dr. Lin yet so I will update the review when that happened!

I’ve been to other places to treat my skin before, even with the same fraction laser and there was always something to complain about. especially when you go with a Groupon, then they treat you even worse.
This place is really different. They are very nice since the first moment with the ladies in the front. It’s my second time making my fractional laser here. who always takes care of me is the nurse Tiwilla, I have no words to explain how good she is. Fast, careful, don’t miss any spot, explain everything you need to know and to complete she’s really nice.
Regarding the treatment, I know people have different skin and treatments work different in every case but for me the fractional is amazing. No pain. I feel a little burn at the time and next day. after that the skin starts getting dryer and the micro Brown spots darker. it doesn’t pill at all, the brow spots just start fading and the skin starts getting tighter. it reduces a lot wrinkles, aging and acne dark spots.
The only thing you have to do is keep wearing your sunscreen forever if you want to keep the results.

Twaila is awesome. She’s the nurse that does matrix resurfacing. I’ve had this procedure done in multiple locations and she is a standout. She is unusually caring, pays a lot of attention to detail, and takes time to explain everything. I am going back for my next treatment today!

It’s really three and a half stars. Initially, after reading all the reviews, I was a bit skeptical about this establishment but decided to go ahead and get the CO2 Fractional Laser resurfacing done on my face. I did have a different type of laser resurfacing at a different doctor’s office about five years ago and was ecstatic about the results. So naturally, my post-​procedure expectations were similar, if not the same, in my mind.
The nurse, Tiwilla was very nice and it was comforting to hear her voice throughout the procedure because let me tell you, it actually hurt! But I figured, no pain, no gain. I was shocked to see my face afterwards because there were lines all over my face, it was bright red and it felt like my face was on fire.
For the next week or so, I wasn’t a happy camper. They told me to put aquaphore on my face to keep it moisturized but it clogged my pores and my face broke out. I had lines all over my face and some of them were turning brown. Every morning I washed my face and it felt like sand paper. I called the office pretty much everyday because it was so concerning to me that I wasn’t seeing the results in a timely manner. I even went to see the doctor in the office because I broke out with so many bumps on my face but was told that they would eventually go away.
Tomorrow will be exactly two weeks after the treatment. I am glad to say that all those lines and bumps on my face that gave me so much stress did disappear. However, the result of the procedure is less than great. Unlike the other laser I had years ago which gave me a porcelain complexion with less visible hyperpigmentation, this CO2 laser is just «okay» at best. The office kept telling me that this is an aggressive treatment but in my opinion, if it really is aggressive, the results should be far more superior.
One last comment is that though, I wasn’t thrilled with the outcome, the doctor, the nurse and the staff there were all very nice and professional.

I bought two fractional laser resurfacing treatments from here. I got a really good deal. The nurses name is Tiwilla, she has a super sweet personality. Normally, I don’t like to talk with someone new, while getting a procedure done, until I feel comfortable. Then I’m a motor mouth. With her, totally different. So much in common, felt complacent after one session. She’s got good social skills, something doctors tend to lack. My face looks really good. After one treatment so many people were asking me, why my skin looked so good. I just did my second treatment and I see a huge difference. I plan to go back as well send my friends. Also, the doctor that works there is very nice. Only met with him briefly. This was the first dermatologist office were I didn’t feel pushed or pressured into buying more or something else. I like that they leave you alone and let you come to them. On the bad side, they’re overly busy and hard to get an appointment and there’s definitely a wait time. I only gave 4 stars and not 5 because a lot of times my appointment is behind and I’m a very impatient person. I don’t like to wait.

I had a quick and pleasant experience here. The staff were friendly and the dermatologist was informative and to the point. Usually at derm offices there is always an upsell. Here, I did not feel pressured to buy anything. In fact, besides a form to fill out in the beginning asking if I was interested in any of their listed services, they did not mention their line of creams or any kind of service unless I asked. I was in and out on my merry way.
The reason it’s not a 5 star experience is because they seem to be having some internet problems that have been ongoing since I made my appointment several weeks ago. I called them a 3 times before I could make an appointment. And when I did, they had me call their Sherman Oaks office since their systems were all down when I called, and yesterday the receptionist could not find my referral in their systems either. They fixed that later on, but this morning they had trouble getting their stuff up and running too. It didn’t effect me much, but it did make me feel that the whole thing could have gone much more smoothly if there weren’t all these connection problems.

So Linage Dermatology is one of the best places I could ever walk into !
Well for starters everyone is very welcome and warming there just some of you who think the world is out to get you!& that’s why you feel that way, sorry your experience was not as great as mine :)
Thanks to Dr. Lin and his amazing products I can actually see my skin as healthy as can be.

Tiwila the laser nurse is amazing! She did an amazing job on my laser hair removal! She was so nice and answered all my questions. Laser was painless which made it great. I’m defiantly coming back for more! I encourage anyone who is considering laser hair removal to come here!

HORRIBLE! Made an appointment for myself and my elderly mother for a fun girl’s day using a Groupon they had. They called me last night to confirm. We get there and they have a TINY parking lot and there were no spaces, so we had to go someplace else to park. We go in and the receptionist was really snooty, but not mean to begin with — that changed quickly. She was looking up our appointments until she saw me pull the Groupon out of my purse. As soon as she realized we had Groupons she stopped looking on her computer, said they didn’t have appointments for us, couldn’t fit us in, and to contact Groupon for a refund. I will never go back and I will warn every woman I know to never go there. It took us almost an hour to get down there just to find out they they didn’t want «our kind» in there (I guess «Groupon-​user» is a dirty word to them). Please don’t put yourself through the humiliation! Worst experience I’ve ever had using a Groupon and it’s disgusting.

I had the Groupon for the 60 minute signature facial. It expired in February but making an appointment with them was so difficult (as they had sold so many Groupons I assume) that they assured me they would honor the Groupon into May.
But although the place is easy to find and is near one of those awesome Bev Hills free city parking garages, what I actually GOT was a basic 30-​minute facial. And it was OK. But it wasn’t what I paid for.
It seemed odd when Cynthia (my tech) only did a few extractions and maybe one mask and was like, «OK… you’re all done.» It wasn’t until I was dressed and looked at the time on my phone that I realized… that was a 30-​minute MINI facial. I wouldn’t advise buying another Groupon deal if they offer one. They only do the bare minimum and clearly make their money on Botox and the like.

WOW! I went here with a groupon for a Matrix facial (I bought 2 sessions, and wasn’t able to schedule both sessions before expiration date, but the receptionist said that was no problem! As long as I got the first one in, they would honor the second one). I have had a bunch of face work before, including E-​Matrix, so I was curious to see how Linage would handle someone with a groupon (the process can normally cost between 750‑1500, so the groupon was a REAL deal).
I have to say, they were wonderful!!! No one tried to «sell» me, which was nice for a change. The PA, Lauren was a FANTASTIC! she obviously knew what she was doing. She was extremely knowledgeable and checked my skin thoroughly while talking to me about the procedure, and what Matrix CAN do (as well as what it can not do). The woman who applied the numbing cream and did all the prep and post for the procedure was fantastic, too (I didn’t get her name), but when I mentioned that it always hurts most right under my nose, she made sure to apply a really good layer of numbing cream there. Both Lauren and the assistant were professional and treated me as if I had paid full price! As far as the results, I can’t tell yet, but my face is now showing the normal redness that happens with this procedure and I can see that Lauren didn’t miss any part of my face, she was really thorough. Groupons are supposed to introduce you to a new business but so many times I don’t feel like businesses understand that treating even a «discount» customer well is good for business. I get the feeling that this place «gets it!»! And I’ll probably use them again!

Never coming back to this place.
Arrived about half an hour early for an appointment I scheduled three weeks in advance. The place I went to before got bought out by this place so I had no choice really but to go to Linage to continue my treatments.
The receptionists seemed aloof and somewhat snooty, but when you asked them a question directly, they’d immediately put on a little mask of friendliness that disappeared as soon as you walked away. Weird. They should put up a better act if they’re trying to exude friendliness, but whatever — I can deal with fakes.
However, I can’t deal with waiting OVER ONE AND A HALF HOURS for a thirty minute appointment. Who needs two hours of free parking if you’re going to be waiting around idly for more than 75% of that time?
Ugh. I feel so bitter towards these people. Why the hell did I pay a tip? Why did i even pay them at all!!! I’m a pretty meticulous person who’s coming from an hour and a half away to see them, so I scheduled everything just so that I can beat traffic to and from Linage, then to another appointment I scheduled for my sister, and then off to my meeting place with folks from out of town. Nonetheless, even though I arrived early, these lazy, unapologetic, passive fools delayed my appointment to the point that I was actually two hours behind schedule, facing the stupid traffic I was so careful to avoid, barely made it to the other appointment I had, and was late to my own meeting.
Linage, I don’t care if you guys cater to celebrities — you’re obviously all hype and a bunch of really inconsiderate people. And no, none of your default apology lines made things better for me. If any of you Unilocalers dare to even book any appointment here, make sure you don’t have anything else scheduled for afterwards.

I originally came here because they were willing to honor living social vouchers from another place that shut down. What a upgrade i got, the place is really clean and the laser technician was not only nice she took time making sure she didn’t miss any spots. I loved not feeling rushed.
