I have been their client for years. The only reason I go there is because of my hairdresser. She is the best. One of the most talented I have seen. The worst thing about them is their front desk. Every time I try to make an appointment I have to go through the rudest the most unprofessional telephone operators. I would think the management would’ve known by now and figured out a way to hire better people. It seems like it gets worse every time. I could not hold back anymore. I wanted to write this review many months ago. I feel bad for the hairdressers and all the workers there. they give most of their money to the shop, and the shop is not capable to provide a decent service for their clients. That is all for now.

What a wonderful experience!
I decided to splurge on a haircut & color and I’d read great reviews about Meche. The staff treated everyone like they were a celebrity and my hair now has fantastic shape. I recommend this place for a special treat, but it will leave your wallet a little thin.

I’ve been going to Michelle for color for about 6 years now. I LOVE her! She’s super nice, professional and knows her stuff. Her assistant Elisa is a sweetheart and amazing as well. TONS of celebrity sightings but they treat normal people like myself the same as everyone else. ZERO attitude here which I appreciate. Even the valet guys are super friendly!

They are really caring and professional. Not to mention how many celebrities go there!

Do not believe all the hype. I was screwed over twice at this salon. I thought this was a «celebrity» salon. So if you are not someone famous they will rush through your cut/​color. The snooty vibe here is also uncanny. The first time they screwed me over was when they referred me to colorist RICH DUG, because I wanted to go platinum blonde. Instead of telling me this wasn’t something he could do (which he should have) he went for it and after the second step (we never got to the 3^rd step) all my hair started falling out. It fried off. So now the front of my hair is completely broken off and there is so much breakage everywhere. It is damaged beyond repair. No refund will fix that only years of growing it back out. The second time they screwed me over was when stylist GUY RIGGIO cut my hair. I asked him to cut bangs because the front was all broken off and becoming a bang anyways lol. The bangs were sooooo peicey and uneven. There was long pieces hanging in the front lol. I asked him if the long peices were a part of the look and he said yes? Not to mention the layers were not blended well at all either with the rest of the cut. Im being real with you this was the worst haircut Ive ever had in my life and with a $ 250 price tag!!! The worst part is they didnt refund me for the cut at all. I ended up having to go to Ramirez Tran salon where thankfully stylist Aaron Watkins and colorist Daniel Moon saved my hair and gave me the best color/​cut experience of my life. Most of all they treated me with kindness and like a rockstar (because I am) which i never experienced ever at meche salon. If you like regular basic bi**h highlights with long flowey layers this place might be for you, but if you want Anything else edgy or different… even just going brunette or dark they will mess it up. Not to mention they will treat you like dirt and rush you in and out no matter what your doing. Not cool after they take so much money from you!!! Im done with this place forever.

At Any given time expect to see celebs getting their hair done along with the rest of us folk. This place has no ego and has a very relaxed non pretentious feel with the upscale ambience.
Jasmine who does hair cut is great and always knows exactly what I want. When you say cut 1 inch, she only cuts 1 inch. Adrienne who does color is fantastic with dark hair. I loved that she knew what tones worked well with my skin and steered me the right away for my highlights. Even when I felt a little nervous, she took the time to re do parts that j was unsure about just to ease my anxiety.
Although it is def on the pricier side for hair cuts and color, it is worth every penny to know you will be walking out with exactly what you wanted and the best you can look! Love this place!

Best Salon! Exceptional work done by all the stylists at this Salon. I highly recommend.

Tracey is the best colorist in LA. Hell, on earth. Period. Probably Mars too. She’s the Queen and you are beyond lucky if you get her to tint your tresses. A true master.
Red is her specialty, but she can do anything. Colorists from all over the world come to Tracey for training and classes.
Her assistants are amazing too… kind, funny, efficient, helpful… everyone who works at the salon are at their best.
The vibe in the salon is great. It’s a beautiful space, always busy, lively and the music is good without commercials (I’m sorry, but commercials drive me cray cray). And I don’t know if there’s some Guinness Book of World Record™ for Most Impressive Magazines at a Salon, but if so, Meche would get it. In sheer volume, variety and freshness… all the latest issues of all mags you’d want to read. (My last salon had 2 8-​month old Vogues and a couple of Gourmet Magazines with half the pages ripped out.)
And there is zero attitude, which is hard to find in a LA salon with endless A list celeb clients. They never make you feel like the nobody you are.
Just go already.
Tip #1: The massage therapist Terra Hiroyuki is the real deal. Get a neck and shoulder rub or reflexology while you wait.
Tip #2: The Latina women with the food basket always hits the spot. The food is fresh, tasty and affordable. I get the pomegranate seeds or the mango.
Tip #3: Love the green or mint iced tea.
Tip #4: If you can’t get in or Tracey is out of town, Michelle and Chris are amazing colorists too.
Tip #5: There’s valet parking in the back but there is usually ample side street parking if you’ll be there 2 hours or less.

I am using my husband’s Unilocal account to write this review. This was my second time coming to this salon and seriously what a mistake. I remember feeling uncomfortable by the atmosphere, but I had liked the way my stylist had done my hair the first time so I decided to try it a second time. I came in for a blowout. The salon’s atmosphere is very busy and rush rush. The women at the front desk were not very warm. One of them checked me in and told me to go get my robe. ok… where are the robes? The last time I was in was at least a year prior as I was visiting Los Angeles on vacation. She brought me to the back and as I put on my robe she told me to go sit on the couch and my stylist would come and get me. Before I could open my mouth she was gone. I had to go looking for her and ask her where the couches were. Nobody offered me water or a drink which is the norm at «high-​end salons». During my blowout, my stylist was interrupted numerous times by other staff and overall the experience was just annoying. The worst part was, I SPECIFICALLY told my stylist not to curl my hair with a flatiron because it will not hold. She resisted against me and did it anyway and of course my hair fell flat within an hour. This is not a high end experience they claim to achieve.

Chris Greene is the best! A genius with colour. I recently considered flying to LA from Scotland just to get my hair fixed by him!
The more I talk to other colourists the more I realise just how intuitive and artistic Chris is. I am so happy to have experienced perfect hair colour but it also means that nobody can live up to it :-(I arrived at Meche last year with a yellowy blonde over-​processed mess after several futile colour corrections. I felt immediately at ease with Chris and he also understood what I wanted straight away. An exceptional skill and so rare! I walked out with a perfect creamy blonde with so much beautiful natural tone. It was completely seamless. My hair had been previously foiled to death all the way to the root but after Chris and his talented assistant Jacob (who I believe now works with Tracey Cunningham) got their hands in it it looked it like it had grown out in the most natural and perfectly sunkissed way. Oh I miss that beachy blonde hair! :-)
I had an amazing experience with Chris but this review applies to the entire Salon. I follow a lot of the Meche stylists and colourists on Instagram and am just in awe of the passion, skill and constant desire to learn and improve. A big shout out to Tracey Cunningham who has inspired so many people! Seriously her assistant Jacob Schwartz is so talented! Check out his Instagram :-)
I’m so sad I live in the UK as its frustrating to have my hair messed up time and time again (including at the best and overpriced salons in London). I’m sure there has to be some great colourists here too but I haven’t found them yet (if anyone has a suggestion please let me know :-))
Soooo for now I’m just going to Olaplex the hell out of my orange roots and fried ends until I can make it to LA to see Chris (fingers crossed this year) Thank you Chris and Meche

You get what you pay for. If you
are happy with that at home box color and keep complaining about the cost. This place isn’t clearly for you. What people don’t realize is that… You won’t
get a decent color from hopping salon one place to the other. Ask me how I know.

I have been to a bunch of salons in Los Angeles, but none as good as Meche. There simply is no better salon. Adrian gives the best haircut. I have thick «fine» hair, and he makes it actually have body. I am obsessed with the color Yvonne gives me. I would recommend Meche to anyone who is looking for a hair salon!

My review is long overdue. I came back in October.
I love this place. Mainly because of Chris Greene and his wonderful assistant Jacob.
I came in after not having my hair or highlights done in almost a year. I was pregnant so I did not get my hair done during that time. After I had my baby I needed to get my color redone in the worse possible way.
So after reading reviews and following Chris on Instagram I decided to try him out.
He is the kindest person I have ever met. He made me feel so comfortable. We started with a hair consultation and from there he went straight to business. He touched up my roots so they matched wit the rest of my hair color and then he began the highlights. I loved his technique. He did an upwards brushing motion on my ends making the highlights look very natural and sun kissed.
Jacob his assistant was the nicest guy too. We laughed and joked the whole time I was there.
I also asked for them to use Olaplex on my hair which is God sent. Made my hair feel so healthy and soft even after adding blonde to my hair.
The prices are definitely high here. But you get what you pay for. This is a very upscale salon so don’t except Fantastic Sam’s prices.
Chris is also a stylist to many celebrities. I paid around $ 600 for my base color and highlights. It was well worth it to me for color that I love.
I will definitely be back to this place and definitely back to Chris.

I need to post a decent photo now that I’ve got a haircut I love. My mother has been at me for years to go to her stylist Adrian for a cut, but not having been in LA all that long, the small jump in price involved in moving to Meche was hard to swallow. How irksome, that once again she’s right!
Amazingly talented stylist Adrian spent quite a long time shaping my overgrown, damaged hair into a cut that has wash and wear style, doesn’t frizz, and is face flattering. I’d been growing out my hair and of course getting tired of the length as soon as it got as long as my goal. I didn’t think my long hair could be so tamed and manageable just because of a good cut. Adrian did not mess around – the man has unbelievable technique (aside from being kind and just all around lovely). I couldn’t be happier with the result. I’m actually a bit in awe, because although I’ve always known a good cut should hang a certain way and grow out beautifully, in spite of seeing quite a few high-​end stylists over the years, I’ve never had someone actually achieve it until seeing Adrian.
One thing about this salon – it is busy. You’re paying for the skill of the stylists, not the ambiance. It was apparently a slow day when I was there but it seemed packed to me-​someone in every chair and a few minute wait for a sink to wash hair pre-​cut. Salon Benjamin where I do color is actually more upscale in spite of the BH address of Meche, but hey, we’re going there for results, and the salon is still perfectly pleasant. Actually, the matter-​of-​fact, sans attitude vibe is something greatly appreciated.
So happy to have finally found a master stylist!

These five stars are fully assigned to Gina Veltri. I will divide this very overdue review into 2 sections: skill and character.
Background: Gina did a makeup trial for me, and just to give you an idea of my unrealistic standards and expectations, I am about $ 5k long on makeup trials. Due to my horrifically low self-​esteem, I’ve had «several.» My friends and family have had enough of me analyzing why «x» job was different from «y» job and where «z» job falls relative to x and y blah blah blah. So Gina had no special edge up when I sat in her chair.
Skill: There are makeup specialists. There are artists. And then there is just magic. Only the magicians can access the magic, and Gina IS a magician. I don’t know how to say this, but when she finished my face, I was actually stunned. First, I still looked like me. Completely like me. But second, it was a BEAUTIFUL me. It was the weirdest feeling. Like a movie star me. She used sublime colors and shading, had a perfect hand for shapes, lines, a crystal ball eye for what to go for, and what not to go for. She was anything but mechanical (as many makeup artists go on auto-​pilot and do the same face on everyone and it’s atrocious) and she worked to my face, as opposed to forcing my face into some standard makeup application. The end result was perfect balance. She emphasized just enough, under-​emphasized where necessary, nothing was too dark, too light, and I didn’t look like parts of my face had completely changed their natural shape. It was such a refined and well-​executed job, I am still marveling at it.
Finding descriptive and helpful words besides amazing, awesome, stupendous is difficult but it behooves all of us to give Gina’s skills the courtesy of adequate descriptions. As she applies makeup, she actually observes the direction of how your face takes the coloring and the shaping and will make decisions throughout the process to refine the direction of your look. She does not force looks on your face. She listens to what you want, she provides an opinion but does not force an idea. If what you want is just terrible, Gina will massage your vision into something that will work for you. Don’t underestimate that gift — many artists cannot do that. Gina is a person who not only understands that her canvas is living breathing moving and morphing, but whose expertise is such that her talent is at its prime with that type of challenging canvas. It’s like Olympians. Yeah, they can jog for miles no problem. But it’s the most challenging parts where you see them truly shine and stand out from the rest. That is Gina.
Character: Take all her talents and skills and magic and hide them behind a door. She’s just a lovely warm sweet woman working in some crazy fancy salon. That is Gina. She is unassuming, very sweet, respects the beauty of silence, and overall just generally very warm. You would never guess that she is an Olympian makeup artist. Walking into Meche is extremely intimidating and it’s not a place I would necessarily choose to frequent because I instantly felt out of place and like I didn’t belong. But Gina worked wonders, made me feel welcome, made me feel like a client that deserved to be there like anyone else, but above all, made me feel comfortable. I instantly trusted her, and felt protected in her little area from the various self-​proclaimed royalty of Beverly Hills traipsing through the salon.
Nothing against Meche — it’s your standard high-​end intimidating Beverly Hills salon — not because of the staff, but because of the clientele, that normal people walk into feebly, feeling grateful when they get a smile. I’m definitely going back to see Gina and Meche gets points for finding such an amazing woman and keeping her happy enough to stay.

Overrated. Neil is by far THE WORST hair stylist. He absolutely does not either a) listen or b) know how to cut Asian hair. I don’t even want to look at myself in the mirror now. Waste of time and money. Now I need to wait at least three months for my hair to grow back out.
To be fair though, I have not tried any of the other hairstylists there. But beware or Neil.

I am in love with Chris Greene and his assistant Jacob. In love is an understatement. I am a natural brunette but I’ve been «blonde» forever. I have very thick, very long, naturally wavy hair. I also have more hair than 2 people combined… it’s kind of ridiculous. Unfortunately/​fortunately my former hair dresser was not delivering the look I wanted which was more of natural blonde with bright blonde ends. Think Lauren Conrad and Blake Lively. I was so unhappy with my lack-​luster hair but thankfully I found Chris!
Over the years I have tried different salons and I’ve seen everything on my hair from tiger stripes, to orange, and even went back to being brunette. I have always liked my hair because I have a lot of it but I’ve never been excited to get my color done or to really go to the salon because I never really walk out feeling that pretty or impressed… until now. This is why I am in love with Chris! I went into the salon for a consult and ended up being his hair model for an upcoming class he was teaching. I literally won the hair lottery.
It’s been 3 days since Chris did my color and I can’t stop looking at my hair because it’s so pretty!!! I can’t even explain how excited and happy I am to have found Chris. I totally understand why people get addicted to going to the salon– I want more of Chris’s magic! Not only is Chris extremely talented and truly an artist at his craft, but he is such a warm, genuine, and caring person. Walking into a high end salon can feel very overwhelming, especially a salon of this caliber, but Chris makes you feel so special and he really does care about you and your hair.
I could go on and on about how wonderful Chris is, but you should just go meet him yourself. Seriously, just go now!

I just called Meche salon to book appointment with Tracey for a colour I saw and wanted The girl «Receptionist answering the phone» said Tracey is not taking anymore clients But, she was a bit rude
Hence the 1 star and after getting off the phone I read up on some reviews
You never know who you are talking to on the phone

$ 275 for partial highlights and I was told I had to blow dry my own hair because my colorist and her assistant were too busy. Are you kidding me?
This salon seems to think that quantity over quality is the way they should go. My colorist was rushed to finish applying the color while another client was already waiting. Because she was juggling 3 clients during my appointment, my own hair ended up over processed because no one could get to rinsing out the color at the right time. While I was brushing out my OWN hair after the color was washed out, whole clumps of white blonde strands were breaking into the brush, the color far too light and the damage obvious.
And to add insult to injury, the assistant was adamant that the only person who could blow dry my hair would require scheduling a stylist to do it. What, nearly 300 dollars isn’t enough to see what the results are before I walk out the salon?
I’m actually embarrassed to have come here. What a sham of a business. Sure, you might have talented people Meche, but treating your clients like cattle is just rude.
