They finally close their doors this weekend — forever.
This high end bridal shop had lots of high end dresses. Priscilla of Boston has been around for years. My cousin told me that they are having their 2k-​3k dresses for $ 100, 200, 300, 400, 500… but now since they’re closing they are limited on dresses. I called and they only had 25 dresses left.
I went to just see.

Of the 20 that were left, I found one that I fell in love with. It was a size 8… I’m a 4… but luckily they run small so the dress was like a 6, so I would need to alter it a bit. Hopefully I can lose more weight and alter it some more. The dresses are made with great material and is a name brand for SO MUCH cheaper — even cheaper than downtown!

I was expecting some snooty people because it’s Beverly Hills but Erica was SO sweet and not snooty at all! She was friendly and made me feel so special even tho it was a sale and such. She was wonderful! Her colleagues… eh, SOME I could see the snoot. But Erica was wonderful!
I’m sad it’s closing but if it wasn’t, I wouldn’t had found a dress at a low price! I wasn’t planning on looking for a dress but hey! Found one! :D Yay!

I picked my dresses a few weeks ago and beyond amazed. So sad to see them go! In the meantime go buy a dress to remember!

this location and all other Priscilla of Boston locations are going out of business so hurry now to find a dress, accessories, jewelry, bridesmaids dreses or even the store furniture at unbeatable prices!
i took Arlene C and Kristin A here on a weekday afternoon and surprisingly the place was not crowded at all! loved having an empty shop to roam around and play dress up haha. no appointment necessary as its only walk-​ins now and if you buy a dress, you take it home with you right then. you’re on your own for alterations although they will give you a list of their trusted vendors.
the dress selection is still pretty decent for them being 70% off retail price but i’d definitely reccomend getting here sooner rather than later. they are supposed to stay open until Dec 31^st but one of the consultants told me at the rate they are selling, they may be closed by the end of November!
you won’t get that ‘say yes to the dress’ full bridal experience with a consultant helping you in/​out of dresses but the staff here is still more than helpful and friendly in all other aspects of the process giving useful tips and advice when needed. wedding dress shopping is more exhausting than it seems so definitely brings some gfs to help you haha.
even though Priscilla of Boston is going out of business, you have a few weeks left to look and i felt the need to spread this great deal to the rest of the Unilocal community since i already got my dress and can share my secret haha :)

I just got my dress here and the prices were amazing. I got a top quality dress for david’s bridal prices. You can’t expect much from customer service because they don’t book appts anymore so it’s often quite busy and the dressing rooms are packed, but I got all my questions answered and an awesome dress.
Some dresses are beat to hell but some are in great condition. Worth a look but don’t expect a bridal experience.

I have to say, things went way downhill with alterations. I went in for a second/​final fitting and when I put the dress on, it wouldn’t zip (plus the bustle was dragging about a foot and the strap fell off my shoulders). This is not what any girl wants! The only person with me was the lady from alterations. I had been obsessively weighing myself since my first fitting and was on target so wasn’t expecting any issues. Plus, the only place it didn’t zip was my ribcage (it was a side zipper and my ribs are a little wider than most). She said to me that I must have gained weight somewhere and that she wanted me to sign something that said I would lose weight! She said she could let it out a little but there wasn’t much fabric to work with. I tried to argue that i can’t lose weight in my ribcage and that maybe the measurements were off. I really hate being pushy and this was really upsetting. She finally agreed that she could let it out enough and that I would need to come in 2 weeks for a last fitting. She said she would call me. (We were already in a time crunch to have enough time to get it mailed to Virginia where I was getting married).
SO…it’s almost 2 weeks later and I’m expecting a call any day now. Except the one i get is from my mom– saying my dress had arrived in Virginia!
This means that they have shipped my dress off without having me come in for the last fitting. This also means I won’t get to try it on until just a couple of days before my wedding day. I panic and call the manager who knew nothing about the issues with my dress or that I was supposed to come in again. At this point it’s too late to have it shipped back to LA and so I had to just wait.
I get to Virginia, try on my dress… and it’s smaller. I swear, smaller. My mom took all of my measurements and photos (my waist was 1 inch smaller now than it had been when they took my measurements at Priscilla). The dress now wouldn’t zip all the way down the side. And all of the extra fabric was gone.
I called the manager again and basically the only thing we could do was for me to try to find an expert alterations person in Richmond, VA and they would reimburse me for the $ 500 + I spent with them for alterations.
The only caviat is that once someone from another establishment touches the dress, it negates any ability for money back. So if they couldn’t fix it, I was screwed.
LUCKILY, I called a local high end bridal boutique called Jingles (weird name, great place) who put me in touch with their woman. She was absolutely fantastic. She found fabric in very creative places and made the dress perfect in 2 days. It cost me $ 250, which is less than half of what POB charged me.
The Manager really was as nice and helpful as she could be and I really want to stress that it wasn’t her fault. She was great in finding a solution. But their was a major communication and quality problem that could have ruined my wedding day. I had to come up with back up plans for where to get a dress i could wear in case we couldn’t make this one work– not fun. Especially considering the cost of my POB dress.
Get your dress from there– but I would suggest shopping around for alterations.

If you need bridesmaid dresses and you are flexible on color the Priscilla BH store actually has a few different styles in a variety of sizes. I just picked my originally priced $ 258 dresses for $ 35 each this weekend. Great dresses at a great price. Sad to see the line ending, but very happy I got cheap dresses!

I’ve visited bridal salons in NorCal and SoCal, finding several great options, but they were always ones where I had an opinion on some detail (s) I’d tweak. Not the case with this particular gown I found at Priscilla. I would change nothing about this gown, I love her and she fits completely with our venue and theme.
And thank you, Kelsey, for your help! You were such a doll, so warm, patient with no pressure even after 1.5h of us trying on gowns, and so sweet to the moms (very important to me that the moms are respected). Erica was also very friendly and thorough with answering questions both over the phone and in person.
The moms were really impressed by the store layout, the quality and beauty of all the gowns, and the changing/​viewing area.
BTW, park half a block up the street in the covered downstairs lot across from La Scala. Free parking for 2h.

If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. I was at the bridal salon at Saks and had a great experience there, but they didn’t carry a particular designer I wanted to try. I heard that Priscilla of Boston just opened and that they carried the dresses I had in mind so I booked an appt.
My consultant was Tanya and she wasn’t the best. She wanted me to try on dresses she liked and her words were, «You can’t try on all the dresses in the store.» This was clearly not my first store, and I couldn’t believe when she threw that in.
In the end, I ended up liking two dresses, no thanks to her, because they were dresses I chose for myself. I told her I would sleep on it and let her know soon.
I came back on an appointment to get measured, and since Tanya was on vacation, they had Lisa, the manager be my stand-​in consultant. She had no idea what she was doing. She measured me and insisted that I didn’t need a muslin fit, that the outer design would hit where they are suppose to hit on the outside based off of her measurements. We had a taylor come down and he explained to her that outside designs would move up or down according to the size that is ordered so don’t order a size that is too large of a size or too small of a size. If you do that, then the design would be off. In other words, the outer design would be proportional to the size that is ordered.
I placed the order and made a deposit. The dress came in and the fit was 3 sizes too big for me and it was less than two months before my wedding. There was no apology, there was no remorse, there was no fix at all other than paying the full alteration fee on top of the fee to make the outer design proportional to my size. Tanya acknowledged they had made a mistake, and I ended up paying for the dress in full because I felt like I had no other recourse when the wedding was less than two months away and I wasn’t done with planning. I almost went ahead and paid for alterations with Priscilla of Boston when they couldn’t even quote me on the cost to alter the outer design. They insisted that to have the outer design be proportional to my size, would be a custom change when it was their freakin fault! I did not lose weight, I am not a freakin pear shape that they insisted I was and I am still so livid.
I ended up having my dress be altered elsewhere. I had to spend the extra time and energy right before my wedding to find a tailor to do this. They are so lucky and fortunate that I didn’t sue the heck out of them for the distress and worry I had for the major blunder that they did.
Lisa would talk around me. saying that it was okay, that I would still look beautiful, but this is after what?! After the stress and the exorbitant fees I would have to pay to get the dress to just fit me?! I paid full price for a dress that was like a sample dress. The dress fell down to my ankles when I had it on. Are you kidding me?!

I had an incredible experience here! I had booked an appt about a month ago but found out two days ago that there happened to be a sample sale only yesterday and today, where it was 75% marked off the price. All I have to say is, future brides, you should definitely look out for these sales bc they are totally worth going to! I worked with Kelsey, who was amazing and ended up finding my dress after I thought we had tried on all of the options. If it weren’t for her, I probably wouldn’t have found THE dress today. I am really appreciative and strongly recommend this store to anyone! They have a beautiful store and selection. Soo happy!

Oh Lord, this store is CRACK to anyone who loves dresses. GORGEOUS dresses and lovely staff.

Just had a group fitting for my 4 bridesmaids in their bridesmaid dresses at the alterations department of POB and Jose was AWESOME. WOW. He is SO patient, friendly, and accommodating. He really worked with all my bridesmaids and met their many demands. The flat fee for alterations is only $ 55 and you really get your money’s worth with the kind of work they do. Jose is doing a ton of stuff on the dresses and it is absolutely worth it. He definitely knows what he’s doing and I have my utmost confidence that the dresses will turn out beautifully. I highly recommend your alterations with Jose. Salon is a bit small compared to the POB in Scottsdale where I made the dress purchase for my bridesmaids. But service is great and I definitely give it a 5 star!

Something I don’t get about the wedding industry is why so many wedding dress shops are closed on Sundays. Are all brides to be already not working and therefore do they have time to stroll around Beverly Hills and Melrose Place trying on big white dresses?
Priscilla of Boston was one of the only dress places my friends and I found open on a Sunday afternoon, so we tried our luck to see if they had any openings. Lo and behold, they had openings for both my engaged friend and myself, so we booked right away!
I was paired up with Lisa, who I absolutely loved. She was enthusiastic and informative but not one of those overly bubbly women who just go on and on about girly things. She kept it real and really worked hard to help me find what was right for me.
My issue was that I’ve always imagined myself as one of those brides in those huge floating ballgowns with empire waists. Unfortunately, my body type is definitely not meant for this type of dress, and it took me several failures to realize this. I credit Lisa for selecting a fitted Melissa Sweet dress that had a completely different cut and neckline than all of the other dresses I was looking at and making me realize this important fact. It fit me like a glove and I knew at that moment what my wedding dress focus was.
Even though she offered me a discount if I ordered it by the end of the next day, I didn’t end up biting the bullet because there was something about the skirt that I didn’t love. But I’m still super grateful to this elegant, beautiful little shop and to Lisa for helping me in my dress quest!

It was a busy day with it being President’s Day weekend and they happened to be having a promotion discount. I made my appointment last minute because my sister was in town for just 3 days more and I wanted her there. At first I wasn’t going to trek up to LA to look at dresses when I live in south Orange County, but now I’m so glad I did! At first I was worried about snottiness with it located at the heart of Beverly Hills but my experience cannot be beat! They also have in house tailoring and guarantee all their work or they give you a new dress for one low set tailoring price that includes everything necessary and more. And… the tailor happens to be and ex-​head tailor for Monique Lhuillier! Another extra perk: because I bought my dress there my bridesmaids get 15% off their dresses and I get 10% off accessories which is very comparable in price. And yes, you can take photos like you’re the paparazzi.
I already had a dress in mind but I was open to a few more tries. They were attentive, helpful, listened to my needs, and even showed me a variety of prices and styles. My consultant was pleasant and respectful. Because she was focused on me, I tried on many dresses in record time. My consultant got a stylist involved and she had me try on styles that I was weary of and knew I didn’t look good in, but made me look FABULOUS! What!!! That’s MY body??? It was so much fun! In the end right before we purchased I found out the person who helped me was actually the Director of Client Services. This experience was one that most girls imagine their dress search to be which I didn’t have on my other salon visits! Call me Monica or Phoebe, but I want to do it again!!! I can’t wait for my dress to get here and go for my fittings!!!

I also had Tanya for a bridal consultant, and she was very helpful and her level of expertise was on point. It was a very productive and satisfying experience, especially because I was there for both a bridal gown and bridal party dresses. The selection of dresses was very good, and I tried on about 8 dresses. I fell in love with one, but did not end up purchasing it because it was only my 3^rd bridal salon. It is definitely an option, and I most likely will be making my bridesmaid dress purchases there, as well. The only downside is that they do not give you discount, even if you buy 10+ bridesmaid dresses. They only give you 15% discount if you purchase your bridal gown there, but it is still expensive. Also parking nearby is $ 15 max, which is what you will max out by spending a couple of hours at the salon. However, everyone was very professional, the salon is beautiful, and I would recommend it. Also, the Melissa Sweet designers were there and were active in my appointment, so that was a big plus for me!

Ok, so it must be said that I read the previous reviews before going in for my appointment last weekend. I was somewhat terrified/​disappointed after reading. Like most brides I have a certain style of wedding dress in mind and BUDGET. Also, my favorite dress thus far is a Priscilla of Boston. Having never tried it on, so much depended on this appointment.
So, my Mom, best friend and I are driving up and I’m thinking «please be nice to us». Because I don’t react well to snooty attitudes. Was I in for a treat! The moment we walked in all the ladies greeted us with smiles and asked would we care for a beverage? Then my Bridal Stylist walks out. It’s Tanya. I’m skeptical. For no good reason apparently.
Tanya is DELIGHTFUL! First I must say I was about 15 minutes late I think. They ushered us back so that we could get started. She walked me through the process. I showed her «MY» dress. But, mentioned it was out of my price range. I choose a few dresses, which btw if your a Bridesmaid/​Mother of the Bride please check out this salon? They have an amazing selection for your dresses as well. Were going to be making a separate appointment for my bridal party b/​c I love everything. :)
So, my dress isn’t ready b/​c I’m a Latina and have curves. They need time to let it out. Which I must commend Tanya on as well. She never made me feel uncomfortable. She helped me put on dress after dress. Always, positive and sweet. I felt very at home with her. I did fall in love with my dress and a dress of her suggestion (within my price range). I am going to continue searching because this is such an important decision. I want to weigh all the options. But, after being to two bridal salons since, I still love my dress and the service at Priscilla of Boston of Beverly Hills.
P. S. It’s my belief once looking at the time at the end of the consultation, that she went beyond time with me even though it was my fault I was late. She was AMAZING.

I was at Priscilla of Boston last weekend with two very good friends — one of whom is getting married late August of this year, and her maid of honor. We made an appointment over the phone and had fantastic customer service up until, unfortunately, walking into the salon. The experience went far downhill from there.
When asked the bride’s budget, Tanya (our assisting sales associate) made a visibly disapproving face. She immediately gave us the impression that we were in the wrong place and that the given figure was too low. Regardless of whether or not it was for this particular boutique, showing disapproval is extremely bad customer service. Way to make the bride feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Tanya told us not to even bother looking at dresses on one side of the store because they’d be way out of our price range.
When it came to fitting, Tanya gave the exact same reaction to every single dress: it’s beautiful, it’s perfect, it’s flattering, you love it. My friend-​to-​be-​wed is a gorgeous girl, and she isn’t going to look awful in anything, but canned answers are also poor customer service.
This is not our first bridal boutique. We know when a sales associate is encouraging but honest, and we also know when one is repeating the same glowing terms to push a sale.
Halfway through trying on dresses, Tanya unzipped a dress haphazardly and CUT my friend’s side in two places, removing skin with the zipper. She was visibly bleeding. Apologies were given, but no offer of a moment to rest, antibacterial ointment, or a band-​aid. This is an upscale bridal boutique and the bride-​to-​be was just injured. Offer her a damn band aid! That is a basic item in every first aid kit that all businesses are required to have on hand. The bride was still sore and in pain after leaving the boutique.
When my friend found one dress she felt particularly attached to, it happened to be out of budget, but she was considering it anyway. At this point, Tanya became extremely pushy to the point of being frantic. She was insisting that the decision be made «no later than» the NEXT DAY. My friend tried to politely tell her that she would try and look at her budget and talk to her fiancée, and Tanya would absolutely not let it go. She continued to talk up how «impossible» it would be to get the dress ordered and altered in time for an August wedding if it were not ordered the very next day. She was stressing the immediacy to an unnecessary, unhelpful, and overly dramatic point.
She was not honestly giving information, she was trying to push a sale and ended up completely stressing out the bride. She was so pushy that I had to intervene after she said, for the 10^th time, «If you don’t order this dress by tomorrow, it will be SO stressful for you.» I told her it already felt pretty stressful, and she snapped back at me that I had no idea how long the production process was for a thing like this. She was insulting and dismissive.
When we left Priscilla of Boston, my friend was depressed, stressed out, and feeling like she had planned her wedding poorly and that her budget was too low all due to this ridiculously pushy sales associate. Awful experience.
Being a bride is a very stressful job when it comes to wedding planning. I totally understand how important it is to make a sale, but it is never good service or business to try and intimidate a woman into making a choice she is not ready to make. My friend was fully ready to reconsider her budget and purchase that dress but felt so upset but the pushy sales techniques that she had to leave.
I would never take my business here again and would discourage anyone else from doing so, unless they are prepared to purchase a $ 5,000 item after a single try-​on from a woman who has no disregard for their personal comfort or decision.

I had an absolutely best experience here today!
I passed this new branch unexpectedly after having brunch in Beverly Hills. I walked in without an appointment. Basically I’ve bought a dress from them in their Boston branch, but I am still in search of a perfect veil. Out of a pleasant surprise: no snobby attitude, no BS of 3-​weeks-​waiting time for appointment on a Sunday! The girl at the front desk said no problem and she arranged me a tryout right away.
Tonya brought the sample gown (the style I purchased) and helped me put it on. She listened to what I envision myself in and gave me some great suggestions. She picked up 2 absolutely beautiful modern cathedral veils with delicate hand-​made chiffon flowers scattered at the edges and the bottom of the veil. She also helped me with jewelry selections that match my overall look. The whole process was so enjoyable with no pressure. I ended up buying this amazing veil that cost almost ²⁄₃ of my plain Jane dress. Had they not being so nice and so professional I wouldn’t have found or bought this perfect veil. It takes a lot for me personally to gladly pull out my credit card on a day that I didn’t plan to do such an important (and big) purchase. I felt complete trust and am satisfied with their professions. Highly recommend to someone who has the budget but thought that they might be out of reach.
