Sarah Viraphanth

Sarah is an amazing artist. She specializes in natural beauty and her work is outstanding.
I flew her out to Livermore for my wedding and it was worth every penny. She’s professional and reliable. She listened to what I wanted and that was exactly what I got. Sarah’s makeup artistry is very classy and elegant. She does a lot of work for magazines and print so the makeup looks great in photos as well as in person. My husband loved how it didn’t looked caked on. Hey, if I guy likes it then that is one great job because most guys hate makeup!!!
I have to admit, I made the mistake by trying to hire someone cheaper and the trial was just awful-​the other makeup artist put way too much makeup on me and made me look like a street walker. I wasted money by going cheaper & I should have hired Sarah the first time around. My advice, just hire Sarah. What you pay for is what you get!

Sarah did the make up for my wedding. I am based in London. I am afro Caribbean and was eloping to San Francisco. The hair and makeup part of the planning was the biggest issue. I wanted to find an artist who can deal with black skin. I have seen many nightmare black makeup from women looking embalmed or with a mish mash of colours none of which matches their skin tone.
I searched and searched, but my confidence was beginning to dim. Then, I came across a few artist who had pictures of black ladies that they had done. Sarah was one of them. She actually sent me a mini mood board of pictures on what type of look and hairstyle will go with my face and dress. I was very impress. She was actually the most expensive, but it felt right and I paid the deposit.
The morning of my wedding was the first time I met Sarah. I had only arrived in San Francisco a few days before and didn’t have a chance to meet with her before. It was all or nothing and she didn’t disappoint. She was very professional and friendly. I felt at ease. She brought along Sue, the hairstylist and they went to work. It felt as if I had known them for a long time. That’s the beauty of eloping to a city that is so filled with wedding professionals.
The wedding hair and makeup was beyond what I expected. I received so many complements and the pictures turned out amazing well. It was as natural as wedding makeup can be.
I would definitely work with Sarah again on my next trip to San Francisco.
I know that finding a makeup artist that knows how to do black/​ethnic skin can be a very difficult process, but I will highly recommend Sarah Viraphanth! She travels as well!

Sarah did my makeup for my wedding day, as well as for my two bridesmaids. She did a great job and I was glad she was there on our wedding day.
We did a trial and she got it the first time! I had done another trial with a different makeup artist and I had to keep asking to switch the colors or make it lighter/​darker. She’s professional and listened to my feedback.
She also made my bridesmaids look extra pretty. She is on the higher end, but worth it for the peace of mind. Check her out!

The lovely Sarah did my makeup for a Hey Lady Shoes photo shoot. It was my modeling debut and working with Sarah made it an ultra fab experience. It’s always a bit nerve racking to entrust makeup application to a stranger but I couldn’t have been in better hands. The result was a glamorous transformation that managed to look effortless and natural at the same time. As a bonus, she showed me how to apply individual lashes which has basically changed my life! I would definitely call her up the next time I have a big event that I need to look my best for.

Sarah does such beautiful work with all types of skin tones/​types. I have been trying to find a way to show my appreciation to Sarah for helping me find the best makeup for my problem skin and for making me beautiful on my wedding day, so here I am on Unilocal!
Sarah has experience with many of the major department store makeup brands/​skin care lines and can be best described as a makeup perfectionist — she is a good listener and is easy to work with. I can always count on her to make me beautiful no matter what the occasion, and her makeup skills are amazing and transforming.
