It was my first time here. I had been dying to get a proper Vidal Sassoon cut. Called in and got an appointment with Lina. I told her I wanted something creative and something I can get away with not using a lot of product with, since I’m prego and I want to avoid chemicals. She absolutely nailed it. I have curly, thick hair, so it’s been hard to find someone that can handle it– but she made it happen. All of the staff are very nice. The receptionist was professional and VERY lovely, too.
If you’re not familiar with the Vidal Sassoon brand, I highly suggest you watch Vidal Sassoon: The Movie. Getting a Vidal Sassoon cut is allowing an artist to work on your canvas — you just gotta let them do their thing and work their magic. They asses your bone structure, head shape, and even the direction of your hair to give you the most flattering cut possible. A custom cut, not an ordinary one. Cheers!

I have been getting my hair colored by Dianne for years and she is amazing. My hair has always turned out absolutely perfect. One of the things I love most about getting my hair done with her, is that she takes the time to talk to me about what I want and offers suggestions and ideas on things I might like. I really feel like she cares. I would never go anywhere else as she is the best.

I wish I could give 2 reviews here. Color = A++++++. Karen has been doing my color for years and I always get tons of compliments on my beachy highlighted dark blonde. It looks natural and gorgeous. She has never done anything I didn’t love. But Cuts = C. I hate to say it. I have been going here for literally 5 years and with the exception of one woman (who left several years ago) I think I have only gotten the perfect cut (i.e. exactly what I wanted, and I’m very picky) like 2 times. This past time, when I brought in a picture of the bangs I wanted (Taylor Swift old straight ones) I ended up with Ana Faris bangs instead — exactly what I DIDN’t want. I also said I didn’t want to see my eyebrows, and lo and behold, here they are. I know I’m crazy but I feel I look terrible in our family holiday photos because of this. From now on I’m going to go to Vicara in El Segundo for my cuts. The woman there did exactly what I wanted! It’s not that hard people, give me what I ask for, not «the sassoon cut.“y
Update: I still hate my bangs. I’m sick of NEVER getting the bang cut I want for YEARS. If I ever hear a stylist say again (which they always say) «what exactly do you like about this photo of the haircut you are showing me?» I’m RUNNING AWAY! That is Vidal Sassoon speak for «you stupid peon, I’m giving you what I want to give you, not what you are asking for, because the Vidal Sassoon way is more important than giving you the hair you want.» I’m not going back. Sorry Karen!

I had my hair colored and cut today. Diane colors my hair and it’s always amazing. She is color director and teacher for a reason she is extremely talented and never disappoints. My first cut by David was today. David is not new to Sassoon he came from the east coast he’s new to Beverly Hills. From the minute I sat in the chair I could tell he is a master and truly interested in his craft. It’s magic to watch his scissors move you can tell he’s great. His cuts are edgy and stunning and he’s great to talk to. I love my hair and will be staying with the two «D’s» Diane and David. I don’t mind the 150 mile drive to see them it’s that good!!!
I do have to say I read the prior reviews and suggest people ignore them. It makes me disappointed and sad to see the people who left Sassoon write reviews on a site that has nothing to do with them. Ladies if you have confidence in your work people would find you and follow without the unprofessional reviews you are writing.

It is with great disappointment that I write this review. Ever since their creative director Jeremy left, I haven’t been able to get a good haircut. Worse — I’ve gotten bad haircuts since Jeremy left. The most recent was last week and every time I see it in the mirror I become increasingly angry. I’m going to have to pin my hair back for months. My instructions were super straightforward — do not cut my bangs shorter than my eyebrows. And look what I got. I look like Jim Carrey from Dumb N Dumber. I love the color by Amel, but unless they get a new creative director, I’m going to have to find a new place to cut my hair.

Been coming here for years. Had a cut with Etienne and ended up with a choppy, overly layered, dated looking cut without any refinement. REALLY!!! He used to be good. consistently and then it was on and off at times yet somewhat consistent. Now he just does bad work and is lazy with his cuts. How can you be the regional director and not have the majority of the rave reviews referencing you as their favorite stylist? It’s too bad. Found a great stylist in Hollywood. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Hope Etienne finds inspiration for his work again.

I had my hair done by Adriana Ortega (an apprentice at the salon) months ago and it was one of the BEST hair cuts I’ve ever had! I got so many compliments on how perfect my bob was. Unfortunately, my schedule hasn’t allowed me to go back (because I live kinda far from the salon) but I would totally recommend her to anyone. I’m waiting for my time to free up and for my recent bob to grow out so I can go back. I miss that perfect hair!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Lucy for two years, but I moved back to NorCal so I had no choice but to find a new stylist. It was very sad to move because I am super picky about my hair and I would cry if I ever had a bad hair cut. Second reason is because Lucy is a great stylist, understands me and knows hair.
I think it’s hard for someone to really understand what you want, need and expect when you walk into a salon and expect to look like X at the end of your appointment. I’ve been to many different stylists so I am always skeptical and nervous trying new things and salons with my hair.
Lucy was always able to cut my hair the way I imagined it. I always had split ends and dry, damaged hair because I always used a flat iron and didn’t know how to take care of my hair. Lucy always gave me tips on how to keep my hair moisturized and healthy since I always used a flat iron or curling iron. She even recommended products that would help my hair and I never felt like she was just trying to sell me expensive ass salon products.
Other than the amazing Lucy, the salon itself is great. I like that they only use scissors so you know they are implementing a bunch of technique when you come in for a cut.
Thanks for always taking care of me and my hair, Lucy! You are truly missed!

LOVE this place! The service is amazing, and my stylist Lauren gives the best hair cuts. There is never a wait and they always ask if you would like something to drink .
I was going to shorty’s in west Hollywood, but the stylists were rude and didn’t seem to care that my hair is thinning and I need to look like there is more volume. Lauren always listens to my concerns and makes sure that I am 100% satisfied.

It’s been almost a year since I first made the smart move of taking my crappy, thin, dull-​looking hair to the experts at Sassoon. Haircut after haircut, color after color, my hair has only gotten better and better. Thank you, Jee! Thank you, Amel! Because of you, I can finally cross ‘find a great cutter and colorist’ off my bucket list.

I used to get my hair done at Sassoon in Bev Hills, both cut and color, for many years because I knew it was consistent and I wouldn’t have any unwanted surprises. All of the good colorists have since left and there are very few good stylists who are worth the price. I also feel like their coloring techniques are outdated and too formulaic. They do the fine/​thin highlights that are meant to blend naturally but grow out as if it’s a single process. I feel their techniques haven’t kept up with the times. Also, I know other colorists, who don’t have to follow the Sassoon formula, who will do a half head but at least add some highlights on the underside of your hair so you don’t look so punk rock when you want to put your hair up. I decided to look elsewhere, especially for color.

I went to see Yasuna and she is awesome! She is really friendly and makes sure to ask what you want, while at the same time making sure you look good with your hair type. I am extremely happy with the cut!

I’ve been getting my hair done here for a few months and have been thrilled with how it’s turned out. Some friends in SF told me about Diane, a color director who just recently moved to LA from the Bay. She did a great job correcting my color and getting me to a much prettier shade of platinum blonde.
Been getting my hair cut with Matthew who is also great and saved me from the grown-​out version of a terrible cut I’d been putting in a ponytail for months.
Only downsides to this place are: it is actually really difficult to find if you don’t know where you’re going; they don’t allow you to add tip to your credit card payment, so you have to bring cash to tip; and it’s also SO. EXPENSIVE.

Jee has been cutting my hair for years. After getting a haircut from Jee… It’s hard to go anywhere else. You just know that you won’t get the same quality from anyone else.
Over the years I’ve worn several different cuts… Long, short, a-​line, bangs, you name it and Jee always does it perfectly. Her cuts always come out super clean and stylish. I always love, love, love my hair after and I’m pretty picky and pay way too much attention to detail.
I’m sad because I just moved from LA to San Diego… But I’ll just have to make the drive up when I need a haircut. It’s worth it.

I have extremely curly thick hair… Think Halle Berry’s hair in The Call but past my shoulders…
Years ago I came to LA for college and my mom told me of the place she went in her «day»…a place that gave a precision cut…
I had only gotten my hair cut twice before and both people could NOT do anything that would curl up well after the blow dry was washed away.
One sunny day I met Jee… and from this day forth I solemnly swear to hop on a plane and fly to wherever Jee may move to (if it is not in LA)! This woman cuts curls like NO ONE ELSE. She told me she always wanted curly hair and I believe that is the reason why she can do it so well!
ONE THING you have to make sure however is to ARTICULATE what you want out of your curls to her. Tell her how much your hair will «curl up» from being pressed flat **if you do not know that answer pull your hair straight and measure that and then let it go back up and measure that***…OR simply tell her you want to cut it curly and she can do that as well. The key with curls is communication and not lying to yourself about what you have on your head and what you want it to be. If i want a precision bob, Jee will give that too me but i also have to understand that that bob will curl up into a precisely perfectly round mess of curls next week. I am pleased with both.
PS she took me Halle Short too and we chopped off over 12 inches it was fantastic. I am one year into my grow-out…and let me tell you… the Halle Cut she gave me grew out and it kept looking better and better! So much that just last month before i went in for a trim someone said I had the latest trend of hair style! Little did Jee know but her cut grew out into the latest thing!
Jee is perfection, personable and fun!
Chuck is my colorist, with my curls I go to him once and get a full head and let that grow out for a year… with my curls it ends up looking blond and light brown tipped like it was sun kissed… being young and on a budget Jee and Chuck give me one of the best cuts and colors in LA within my price range/​a once yearly trip… NO, wait they are the best in California without a doubt!
CHUCK:
My mom had a catastrophe with her at home hair dye. The box must have been old or defective. Her hair broke off in pieces. She was left with only a few inches in some parts. Her mid back length hair was gone in a matter of 15 min. She was devastated.
She did not venture out into the public world for months, her gray had taken over as she conditioned and let her damaged hair grow back.
She was like the the TITANIC. She had sank to the bottom of the ocean never to be seen sailing again.
Then I told her about CHUCK at Sassoon Beverly Hills. She is a regular with the amazing Jee and I am a regular with Chuck and Jee for many years…
With much pleading I finally made her fly to visit me in LA and meet with Chuck.
Chuck didn’t let go of hope and his knowledge of what to do to save my mom’s hair and YOUTH. Over the course of three visits they grew out my mom’s hair, dying the new gray a perfect chestnut brown. Between Chuck and Jee my mom covered her gray and removed about 15 years off her image. As Rose Dawson would say, she’s «a dish.» ;-)
Chuck was Jack, her hair was Rose. A woman’s heart is a deep ocean of secrets. But now you know there was a man named Chuck and that he saved my mother… in every way that a person can be saved. (Get it? Titanic quote)
Go see Chuck and follow up with a cut from Jee. I’ve stuck with them for going on 7 years and I am never disappointed.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Haley and colored by Amel for a couple of years now and they are AMAZING.
I rock a short pixie and for a long time I had struggled with cutting my hair and then growing it out and was never quite happy with how it looked. My hair used to be a constant struggle and source of insecurity. UNTIL I got started with Haley and Amel and they transformed my wishy-​washy cut/​color into a bold fantastic statement of awesomeness.
My hair is now my favorite part of my appearance and I feel like it’s become a part of my identity and personality. I work in a restaurant, and I probably get at least 3 or 4 compliments on my hair every single day from total strangers.
Haley and Amel are both sweet, professional, and they LISTEN. Wizards. They know what they are doing. The rest of the staff is very attentive and professional. Someone grabs you a beverage and the assistants are very conscientious about water temperature and pressure (you get a nice little scalp massage) during the shampoo/​rinse. The receptionists remember me by name and everyone is incredibly kind.
Vidal Sassoon is a far more upscale and sophisticated environment than I typically frequent, but I feel very comfortable and welcome there. It’s my way of treating myself to a little pampering every 8 weeks and I LOVE coming here.

When I was a kid, my mother used to take me to Sassoon to get my hair cut, because she loved her Sassoon stylist.
Years later, my stylist of ten years fell of the face of the planet and I needed to find a new place to go. I decided to go back to Sassoon.
I am SO glad I did.
Two weeks ago I had my hair cut by Paula, who game me the exact hair cut I wanted, and the yesterday I got my color done by Amel. Talk about the most AMAZING color job I’ve had in a LONG time. It’s GORGEOUS. I walked out of the Beverly HIlls salon feeling like a movie star! Seriously, I couldn’t stop smiling the whole day. Every time I looked in the mirror I got another jolt of joy looking at my hair.
I’m quite the opposite of vain. I tend to avoid mirrors. But now? I look fabulous! Even the next day after sleeping on my cute curls, my hair still looks amazing.
I also LOVE the way the salon is run. The people are so amazingly friendly, helpful and polite. I feel like I’m being spoiled when I go there. They take excellent care of their customers. From the fabulous team at the reception counter to the hair washers to the assistants, to the high end stylists. Everyone is AWESOME.
Yep, I’ve found my hair team for sure.

She is very attentive and cares about your hair.
she asks about what your maintenance level is for your hair (i don’t really take care of or like to style my hair that much) and she cuts it according to what she thinks is good for you.
i got bangs and layers; i didn’t really want blunt bangs and more of a natural cut. and she did just that.
nice and friendly.

Kerastase had a promotion a bit ago, offering free treatments in exchange for $ 10 to be donated to Locks for Love. The treatment plus the blow dry that came with it was about $ 90, so it was a pretty big deal.
This two story establishment in Beverly Hills runs like a machine, which is both impressive and intimidating. I had a good experience, and everyone seemed nice and accommodating, but it felt very «on the surface,» if you know what I mean. I just couldn’t get comfortable.
My hair came out looking great. I would completely trust any stylist here with cutting it, but the vibe of the place will keep me from returning if I have other options available.
