Spotlight Music

I cannot recommend Robby and Spotlight music highly enough. Robby was SO helpful, knowledgable, kind, accommodating and organized during our whole planning process. He was so receptive to everything this bridezilla was asking for! Robby was so mindful to work within our budget, without sacrificing any quality. And boy did he do it spot on!!! The night itself couldn’t have gone better, and all of Robby’s recommendations were 100%. Our dancefloor was PACKED all night! The guests were raving, and then for weeks people were telling us how sore their feet were from dancing for so long. Robby was also an incredible MC for the night… he has the best energy and just did the best job keeping the party going! I cannot thank you all enough!!!

We could not have asked for a better band for our wedding night! Spotlight music was referred to us by my husband’s sister– Robby played at her wedding 10 years ago. We are so happy that we chose Spotlight music at our wedding in San Diego. Spotlight played really beautiful music at our ceremony and had the dance floor packed at all times for our reception. Our guests had so much fun and the energy was great. We loved Spotlight’s music selection– they did a great job at reading the crowd and they played a lot of the artists that we had requested prior to our wedding. Being that we had a jewish wedding, it was important to us that our band helped us to get everyone on the dance floor for the ‘Horah,’ Well, they did not disappoint– our Horah was very memorable for us and our guests. Robby was very professional in helping us prepare for our wedding night. He helped us put together our timeline for the evening so that our guests were entertained the whole night. I can honestly say that having Spotlight has a live band at our wedding made our night really fun. We danced the night away and had a blast! Thank you Robby and Spotlight music!

My wife and I always wanted a live band for wedding. There is something about live music that creates a magical experience at a wedding. We met with Robby and gave him an outline of the kind of music, atmosphere, and theme we were planning for our big day. We also gave him our budget and worked with us on finding the perfect combination of musicians and singers that would suit us perfectly. Robby also patiently answered each question we had, responded quickly to each email (and there were a lot), and provide us with countless ideas to make our wedding day fantastic. He set us up with a terrific bandleader, Tom Bethke, who also served as our MC for the evening, and band members. The music was amazing! From the cocktail hour to the actual dance music, our guests constantly told us during and well after the wedding how much they loved the music. Most people often told us «you will not remember your wedding day» and «it goes by in a blur», but we remembered the band and the great music they played. Absolutely loved it! We also had Robby supply us with lights for our reception hall and they gave our wedding that extra touch of class. You cannot go wrong with Robby and Spotlight Music!

You will not be disappointed with Robby and his team. I first saw Robby play with 25+ musicians and he was out of this world. But then I saw him again with only 5 others and he was just as good. I knew I wanted him to play my wedding and he blew it out of the park. The one thing everyone keeps talking about after the wedding is the music and how impressed they were. Robby sings in 10+ languages. We had a Jewish wedding, but he does everything. He learned songs for us and allowed us to pick our entire play list. I would recommend him over and over again. Not to mention, he’s just easy to work with. He actually made my planning experience enjoyable.

Spotlight Music put together a fantastic band for our daughter’s wedding this past weekend. Robby was great to work with and easily handled the job of pleasing both parents as well as the bride and groom. The musicians had a wide range of musical and vocal abilities. They were able to play all types of music. I had a special request that «You Are So Beautiful» be sung in its entirety — -there are two verses which most people do not know. It was done beautifully. Great professionals, great communication skills. You will not be disappointed if you let Spotlight arrange the music for your event.

This is one of the best vendors I had at my wedding. Robby is fantastic! He is so easy to work with, he is so friendly, and he really puts together amazing bands. Our band was INCREDIBLE, and all of our guests had a great time because of it.

We are so appreciative and thrilled that Spotlight Music provided the musical entertainment from start to finish on our wedding day last month. Robby is the best! He made sure that every musical aspect of our wedding was meaningful and exactly what we wanted. He brilliantly orchestrated his band as well as the timeline of our wedding day so that everyone had a great time. His music provided a TON of energy and we couldn’t be happier. From the first meeting, they were really as helpful as possible. They created a musical experience for a great price that perfectly reflected our vision. They pretty much customized EVERYTHING from the music, to the band, to the schedule. Speaking of the schedule, their knowledge and experience helped ask and answer many questions about the evening that hadn’t been asked by us, our caterer, our florist, etc. Our wedding would have moved like an old desktop computer if not for Robby’s efficient and informed scheduling and planning.
Now on to the wedding itself. ALL we asked for was to learn a few songs by our favorite bands. For the musical experience to be funky and cool and feel totally organic. To have our a band that only played our ideal instruments (I don’t like sax in rock bands, hey, I can’t help it.) To have the Jewish music sound like real funk and have all the songs flow together without pause. Oh, and to do it all on our limited budget.
Spotlight did it all and more. They played songs we asked for but said they didn’t know. They honored our «no-​play» list despite some requests by drunken guests. They jammed right through from one set to the next without a break when the schedule changed and I asked them to just keep rocking.
It really was an unbelievable experience working with Robby. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
