WALKING SHADOWS is an entertainment company that is in the primary business of producing, publishing, licensing and distributing motion picture products — as well as providing related motion picture services.

WALKING SHADOWS specializes in the acquisition, marketing, distribution, exhibition, wholesaling, and retailing of quality independent, foreign, «arthouse», genre, and documentary films. It produces, publishes, licenses and distributes films and videos in theaters, on television, on DVD/​BluRay, and digitally. The company’s products are sold at movie theaters, traditional retailers nationwide, internet retailers and, to some extent, internationally. The company sells its own proprietary content, licenses content from third parties, and distributes content for third parties for a fee.

WALKING SHADOWS works with a range of retail outlets including Wal-​Mart, Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Netflix and Ama​zon​.com to implement its specialized distribution strategy.

History

Established in 2006.

WALKING SHADOWS was incorporated in the State of California on October 10^th, 2006 originally under the name Luminous Velocity Releasing LLC (or LVR). In December 2008, it underwent a name change that is not only easier to say and spell — but is also more dramatic, cinematic, and literary and thus better reflects its core businesses.

ALEXANDER NOHE is a film distributor, filmmaker, and entrepreneur residing in Los Angeles. He has over fifteen years of executive and management experience in the film business, and in every aspect: from usher to producer, but also with significant experience and relationships in the worlds of talent agencies, managers, publicity firms, festival programming, event producing, film production, post-​production, marketing, and theatrical distribution.

He helped many independent films find distributors, including GODS & MONSTERS (Oscar® winner). WACO: THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (Oscar® nominee), TREKKIES ($ 1M to Paramount), Michael Moore’s THE BIG ONE (Miramax), MAYOR OF THE SUNSET STRIP ($ 1.2M to First Look), and BUBBA HO-​TEP (over $ 1M in the Box Office), among many others.

BURNING MAN — THE BURNING SENSATION marked his debut as a director and producer. VARIETY raved «a knock-​out… amazing… dynamic» and THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER called it «accomplished… invigorating… stunning.»
