I am loving my recent hair cut with Casey, he is amazing. I have – well at least I once thought – I had thin flat hair. That was before I met Casey. He is a cutting guru! My hair is so full of volume and texture I can’t stop running my hands through it. I am so lucky I met this guy! I can’t recommend him enough. He is priced right and has the skills to back it up!

I needed to update my review now that I have been going to Yoshi Salon for a long time. This is the first time I have been going to the same hairstylist for such a long time, and this is because Yoshi and Collete are simply wonderful. By now I have had most services they offer and I have been happy with every single one. Yoshi has given me the most fantastic haircuts I have ever had. Collete always does a phenomenal job, she is exceptional in that I always show her an image of a hair color I like on model or something and she will replicate it no matter what. She is very honest, and will tell you if something you ask for wouldn’t look good on you, or isn’t your style. Basically I have always left this salon feeling great and loving the results. The service you receive here is worth every penny you spend.

I have been seeing Alysia for a couple of years for my hair! She is a master at color! When you love what you do it shows in you works! My hair always gives me the extra boost of confidence! I will never see anyone else for my highlights and color! Love that she is so much closer to where I live!
This new studio is warm and inviting too! Parking is a breeze and 2hrs free in Beverly Hills is fantastic!

Wow doesn’t even describe the fierce hotness that Yoshi’s Hair Studio’s colorist Alysia Grumbein has turned me into.
First off– I walked in a busted, faded, single, frizzilla, mess.
Alysia sat this train wreck down, discussed with me what I wanted, and what was achievable. She told my roots who was boss and took me from a clown head, to the girl Jessica Chastain dreams of being.
Nori shampooed my hair and took me on a crazy head massage journey. It was way hot.

I walked out of that salon a gorgeous, luxurious, fierce, out of control redhead. I owe my #gorginaness to Alysia. She saved my life… As in dating life, because as soon as I walked out of Yoshi’s– I kept getting hit on… Over my hair!

A friend recommended this place to me so i thought id try it since my stylist recently moved. I had a deep condition, color and blow dry by Jessica last week and she did an absolutely amazing job. Parking was terrible but for the color and service I would definitely make the trip again it’s great to find a stylist that really knows what you want but can recommend new fun trends. I will be back for sure.

Yoshi’s hair cuts are amazing. I’ve been a client for over 10 years. Yoshi is lovely, the salon is friendly and welcoming. His cuts are masterful and grow out beautifully. I get so many compliments on my hair. I just got a Keratine treatment and then a cut and it’s gorgeous. I highly recommend Yoshi to anyone looking for a great cut!

I have been a client of Yoshi’s for 15 years back when he was at Frederic Fekkai. I am so excited to be able to patronize his salon. It is a warm and welcoming place across the street from a reasonable parking garage (in BH, what a surprise!).
The balayage process Liz and Jessica used on my highlights make them look really natural (I hate the zebra look of foils) and the shampoo felt so relaxing. Yoshi cut my hair and I have never looked or felt better. I told him I wanted a more professional look as I was starting a new job and let him have some freedom and I was not disappointed. I walked away feeling like a million bucks. My haircut was great and I will be able to manage it on my own, curly or straight.
Bottom line: this place is worth every penny. You will be in expert hands and walk away thrilled!

I have been seeing Gsan for many years and he has been the best stylist I have ever had! He just looks at you and knows immediately what will be best and always listens to what you are looking for. He really takes time and does an A+ job every time, I feel amazing every time I leave and always want to go out after! Go see Gsan you won’t be disappointed :)

I’ve never encountered a salon like this. I don’t have easy hair to work with. It’s fine, limp and gray. No one has been able to work with my hair and make it consistently look as if everything is brand new! Yoshi is a perfectionist. His cuts are perfect for each individual. It’s not a cookie cutter haircut, based on what’s in style. It’s what’s in style AND what looks best on YOU. I think when Yoshi retires, I might have to shave my head! Collette is a superb colorist and the sweet face and talented hands of Liz, can make something as simple as a blow dry feel as if you are going to walk the red carpet that evening! No snooty Beverly Hills personalities here. No matter how you feel when you enter this beautiful salon, when you leave, you feel like a new, fresh person — beautiful and astonishing!!!

I absolutely love Yoshi Hair Studio! Yoshi, and everyone there! They are all super nice and Yoshi is exceptionally talented. I love my haircut! It is slightly edgy and gets me literally stopped on the street by people who tell me they love my hair. I don’t want to get my hair cut by anyone else ever again. My mom lives in Wyoming and waits to cut her hair until she is visiting me so she can go to Yoshi too! Colette also does great highlights! She helped me pick the perfect color that is not too bold, but gives the perfect degree of subtlety. If I wasn’t such a procrastinator I would have written this review a long time ago. Or maybe it’s because I subconsciously didn’t want to share: P

I have gotten tons of compliments since I started going to Yoshi Hair Studio. I have tried 5 other hair salons in my 10 years in Los Angeles and none of them compare to Yoshi. I first went to Yoshi when he was at Frederic Fekkai and was so happy when he opened his own salon. Colette is an amazing colorist, Jessica is a fantastic hair stylist, Liz works her magic all around, and Yoshi is an incredibly gracious host! LOVE!

We have gone to Yoshi for years, and we fly in every month. We know many people in the public eye who also see Yoshi’s. What he does is superb and his staff is great.
Those who get miffed about coupons, need to get a life. It is the quality of what he and Collete do that counts. So if you are looking for cheap and cheerful and free stuff go to Supercuts. For quality and performance, flexibility, and happiness go to Yoshi’s

yoshi is amazing! definitely one of the best haircuts and everyone there is very friendly. This salon did not have the stuffy beverly hills vibe. Yoshi was so welcoming and friendly.

AVOID. I bought a voucher on Gilt City for balyage/​ombré, which I already had, I just needed a touch up. My usual colorist/​friend was booked out of the salon for a few months and after seeing that the owner was a former head stylist at Frederic Fekkai, I bought the voucher which was only $ 110.
I went against my better judgement and didn’t turn right back around when I saw how empty the place was on a weekend, not to mention that they needed to highlight «celebrity clients» (casts of reality shows) with framed photos on the wall like a sad diner. It definitely had more of a Groupon vibe than Gilt, but I had already paid for the voucher and touching up existing highlights is not a difficult task by any means…
Colette, the «Director of Color,» worked on me with a bedside manner I have never experienced before – superfrigid and short. My hair was still wet when I left, so i didn’t really know what damage was done (they charge for blowouts on top of your service, which is so tacky, but I actually prefer my hair to airdry anyway). I had somehow left with my existing highlights much brassier than their former state, accompanied by strange bright orange stripes of democratic width and distance starting from my roots. After texting my colorist a single photo of the bizarre highlights with no caption — she rushed over to my house to start what would be 3 processes to get my hair back to normal. needless to say, I was refunded by Gilt.
If you want a competent colorist, try Andy LeCompte, Chris McMillan or Neil George’s salons. They all have great colorists who are superfun and actually know what they are doing. You definitely get what you pay for.

I love my hairstylist Jessica Stein! I’ve been going to her for almost 5 years, following her around like a puppy dog and she is now at Yoshi and it’s such an incredible salon! I am naturally ashy blonde but I like to go very light icy blonde, she does the job every time and I am so happy with it! I get people coming up to me everyday asking if it’s A. My real hair color and B. where on earth do I go? The answer is C. Jess :) I highly recommend going in to see her and experiencing a comfortable, safe environment. It can be scary trying new stylists and that’s why I hope she never leaves!

Yoshi and the receptionist have a limited knowledge on how to handle customer service. I first started going to them after attending the Young Hollywood Event thrown by CAA. In my giftbag, I received two gift certificates for a free blowout. The rest of the table that also paid to support the charity received free blowouts as well.
Three of my friends at the table happen to be men. They had zero use for a free blowout so they asked me if I wanted their free voucher. Today was my third time going in to use it. After having my hair blown out today, I presented my gift certificate along with a generous tip for the stylist, as I always do. The middle aged receptionist with dishwater blonde hair rudely declared that this was the third certificate I had used and that this was not allowed. She then hollered across the salon in front of everyone else and told Yoshi that I was yet again using a gift certificate.
He said, you can only use one and that’s it.
I informed him that if this was a rule then why is it not printed anywhere on the gift certificate?
Furthermore, if it was such a big deal then why was it not raised to me on my second visit to the salon? That would have been the correct time to politely come over and state that although they had gifted hundreds of free gift certificates for a CHARITY event that they had made a mistake and decided that all the men would not be able to redeem or do what they wish with the free gift certificates that they had been gifted and instead they would go to complete waste.
Finally, if they’re going to sponsor an event full of both men and women with salon blowouts in the gift bag then they must expect that there will be men at the party.
What difference does it make who uses the certificates if they allow an allotted number to be part of the event and then do not print on the certificates that they will only let one person, use it one time regardless of the fact that it does not state it ANYWHERE on the ticket and they did not tell me this after the second time I made an appointment?
They should have handled the situation better. I had zero time to deal with this as I was rushing to an event and usually blowouts do not take an hour and a half so I was already running very late. The tone of the receptionist and Yoshi’s declation of, «Only one per person» although that was never stated anywhere did not sit well with me. She acted as if I had stolen the gift certificates or made counterfeit copies.
I would still like to know what difference it makes who uses the gift certificates if they are all gifted to a table of half a dozen men who don’t need their hair blown out. Care to explain Yoshi?

3 stars or «A-​OK» is what I would give Yoshi.
I had a Brazilian Blowout Gilt City voucher that I went to use.
The girl that did it seemed young, but did a great job. Was able to get an appt pretty reasonably.
I am not sure I would come back and pay full price (their prices are expensive for normal services without discount), only b/​c there are so many places that do Brazilians now for low prices in LA. and it’s not like color, where technique is involved. It’s just about getting the glaze on your hair and making sure the hair is flat-​ironed properly.
The salon wasn’t that busy and it was a Friday afternoon. Only 2 – 3 stylists. Not sure if that was a good sign or bad sign.
For reference, this was my 4^th Brazilian.

Yoshi was recommended to me by well known Master Stylists in NYC over 12 years ago. Since that time I have watched him transform people of all ages and all walks of life into their very best «them». He creates new stylesto bring out the best in his clients, not try to make his client fit into his style. There is a famous quote by Michaelangelo that says, «I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set it free». Yoshi is the master sculpter when it comes to bringing out the best in what is siting in front of him.
So what’s it like siting in the chair of someone who has A-​List Celebrities, is featured on shows like Americas Top Model, H&G and many others, and has been the feature of so many raving reviews in his 25 year career that we’ve lost count? Yoshi is one of the most endearing, caring, wonderful people I have ever met. It is truly a treat to know him. He makes everyone feel like the are the #1 on his list. He is truly a class act.
Collette did an AMAZING job with my color !! I know it’s overused, but it truly looks luxiourious ! The blondes look soft and buttery and the reds are a beautiful warm copper.
My mom did hair for years, so I am super, SUPER picky… I promise you, you will LOVE your hair — and the best part? It will fall into place and look like it did when you left the salon every time you do it yourself ! They are that good !!

I got the most amazing blow out and deep conditioning treatment from Yoshi Hair Studio in Beverly Hills. The conditioning treatment was a combination of Difiaba Italian Hair Mask and Yoshi’s signature product called Yoshi’s Conc Magic Treatment. My blow out, done by Yoshi himself, looked perfect for three solid days. That has never happened! I got SO many compliments on my hair in those three days, again this is rare! It was hands down the best blow out I have ever had. Thanks Yoshi!
During my visit I was able to chat with him about his experience, his salon and his products. He is truly an amazing hair specialist and so fun to chat with. His salon is clean, modern, welcoming and fun. It was really a treat to spend the morning with him and his staff.
Walking out of Yoshi Studio I had so much pep in my step as my hair seemed to bounce and shine perfectly. When my hair looks good it’s as though all is right in the world! I know that sounds cheesy, but you know it’s true!
