A Cut Above The Best

At first when I got home I thought it went great. Next day I
was out there and noticed the damage he left behind. Cracks in concrete patio
where tree was located. Obvious to me a large cut landed there. I called to let
him know. He seemed like good guy that I could trust so I made mistake saying
«take your time». «Don’t make special trip, just call next time you’re
in my area» Medford, MA.
Here it begins, the” I will be around this time on that day” talk.
Back and forth with that for 2+ weeks. Then finally I left voice mail asking
what was going on? Text he sent said he was very sorry but lost my contact
info. Then said I’ll be there tomorrow. I sent text saying you should have not
pushed it this far. I work with a lot of people at the state who always come to
me for referrals and I could have gotten you more work.
He was the lowest bidder, he did great job removing tree,
but left hundreds if not more, of dollars’ worth of damage and told me he does
not believe me. Also made a wise crack about state workers.
Cheap tree guy but not responsible for accidental damages.

Not sure why Jay gets such rave reviews. I really can’t comment on the quality of his work as he never showed up to do the job! He blew us off 2 days in a row, and when we called and texted him he did not reply. Very unprofessional and obviously unreliable. Hire at your own risk!
And yes, I have the right company and called/​texted the right phone number, and had scheduled the job directly with Jay over the phone.

Jay was great! He returned my inquiry quickly and came by to provide a quote, which was reasonable and slightly less than the larger «chain» service. Better yet, as busy professionals he made it easy for us to get the job done quickly and within budget offering to stop by and look at the job, provide the quote over the phone, and even return to do the work — all without me needing to meet him at home during working hours. We will definitely call him again with any tree service needs.

I left a message for the owner and received a call back within an hour. When does that happen??? He was able to swing by my house that morning and give me an estimate over the phone and set up a time to do the work. He truly listened to my concerns over preserving privacy but opening up the backyard, as well as taking my neighbor’s wishes into consideration. He was able to get the job done 2 days later. He texted «before and after» pictures so I could see the work and make any suggestions on other areas to be trimmed. Because I couldn’t be home to see the final product, he offered to come back and do any additional trimming I wanted saying word of mouth was too important to him and he wanted make sure I was happy. Could not be more pleased! Would definitely recommend this service to friends.

Very professional. Courteous. Hard working. Quick. Reasonably priced. I highly recommend them for tree work as well as other around the home work.
