Auto Restorations By Roy

Last summer I took my 1960 Chevy into Roy’s for an engine tuneup and carburetor repair /​rebuild, as necessary. Two days later I picked up the car and as I drove it away from the shop, it stalled out at the first intersection, and then twice more on the 2 mile drive home. It actually was worse than when I brought it into Roy’s! I emailed them and they said they’d fix it but had to wait for an open space indoors and would notify me when such an opening occurred. Never heard a word. I took the car to another mechanic who deals in antique cars and he said nothing much had been done to the car, so he did a tune up and it ran much better. He did say the carb was «shot» and recommended a carb rebuilder. That guy was at my house the next day, removed the carb, rebuilt it and re-​installed it two days later. It looked like a brand new unit. Car starts and runs fine now. So I wasted tons of money and got nothing from Roy’s. I would never recommend them to anyone.
