Sean H. pretty much describes it how it is at the Fish Hill Tavern/Fibber McGees. They do get an extra star from me for their wings. They are really good, and there aren’t too many places around that serve them. And, on 35 cent night, it’s a pretty good deal. But, it is crowded on those nights.

Fish Hill Tavern, located on Cabot Street in downtown Beverly, is a hot spot on weekends. The local crowd fills in to grab a simple bite of bar food and/or drinks while watching local bands play. The Sunday brunch is top notch boasting the gem of the menu, steak & eggs. However, since the new management took over their pub style food is slightly better than mediocre. The famed steak fries are gone for a sub-par crusty version, which is akin to the«new» Burger King style fry. The menu has been reduced to a small selection of choices. Despite all this, the food is still very good and the atmosphere is upbeat in a college town fused with townie sort of way. Fish Hill is no longer a hidden jewel on Tuesday nights. The word on 35 cent wing night is out. minimum 6 per order. Styles to choose from: buffalo, lemon/garlic, plain, sweet teriyaki, bbq and spicey teriyaki. If you want the«set up» it will cost you $ 1.50 extra. This basically consists of blue cheese with carrot and celerey sticks. The selection of beers range from Miller Lite, Budweister, Bud Light, Coors Light to UFO, Tucher, Guiness, Red Stripe, Sam Adams and more. Don’t forget the full bar selection. Now called Fibbers, the menu is basically the same. The place is packed weekend nights but the value for what you pay for isn’t good. Over-priced/medium quality. 2 stars, one for the great beer selection and one for the wings on wing night.
