Noon Lodge at Mallard Bay

Our stay at the noon lodge was a great experience!
First off– I loved the layout and feel. They have taken a lot of care in making the place clean, approachable and trendy without compromising the feel of a cabin-​like atmosphere. I loved the eclectic accents and the welcoming vibe. The highlights for me were definitely the outdoor entertainment options. There are over 4 firepits on site, bocce ball, cornhole, BBQ, adirondack chairs, and the pool. The great thing about this is that everyone is outside of their rooms conversing and having a great time. It is a little community.
The kitchens were clean and well equipped so you can make whatever you want. The cleanliness was definitely a 10! I really appreciated the time that they took to make sure our room was perfect for our arrival.
There were only a few things that I will mention that I hope is improved for my next visit. First, the pool is closed until further notice. Obviously, there is the lake. But: this is not a lake-​accessible place and there is no air conditioning. So in the summer, you will need to be out of your room during the day because it gets wicked hot with no breeze. The one other thing that I will mention is that they are extremely strict on curfew. It is 10pm on the DOT to close up the firepits and the games outside. We were all conversing with a group around a firepit, (and talking very low might I add) and were abruptly approached at 10:01 to go inside. I completely respect the rules, but it is just such a nice atmosphere to have to go in at such an early hour if you are being respectful. When everyone did go inside, it was even louder on the grounds because everyone was still talking in their rooms and it echoed throughout as a result of everyone keeping the doors open because there is no air conditioning. Just something to consider.
Overall, I think that this place would be best enjoyed in the winter just for the above reasons, and I definitely plan on going back for this very reason to try it out!

Gave it a three stars cus I really like the design of our lodge and enjoyed the pool but the place was really small and dark. The lighting was REALLY dim. Unfortunately we had a duplex cabin and our neighbor’s entrance door was by the connected wall. Every time they slammed or closed the door it sounded like they were banging the wall. Plus there was no DVD player… yes I know, we were there to enjoy nature but at the end of the day I like to watch tv. And the only channels they had where from the 80s/​90s. And the shower was Super tiny and dark… the black shower curtains didn’t help. And the shower wall had black mold spots… they were tiny spots. Overall it’s a cute lodge but I won’t be returning.

Booked a short overnight stay here while visiting Big Bear. I wanted something quiet and away from the noise and busyness of town, and, I’m a stickler for design and details.
I stayed in cabin #1 and it was just right; clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and while the room was initially a little warm, I opened the windows and the evening chill cooled things down nicely.
Fritz the caretaker was extremely easygoing and helpful upon check-​in, and having fresh coffee and tea available in the morning when I dropped off my key was a nice and unexpected touch.
I look forward to returning to Big Bear for a longer getaway, and Noon Lodge is my place.

We stayed here for our anniversary and it was a dream getaway. It has the cabin feel but with everything updated and working perfectly — as if HGTV had renovated the historic mountain retreat.
Fritz was super helpful and welcoming, plus the community fire pits and feel made it seem like an adult summer camp. What a lovely place.

We just stayed at Noon Lodge at Mallard Bay for three nights. We loved it. The upgrades on the property are fantastic. The fire pits were great at night for making s’mores. We went fishing in the lake and caught some trout. Noon Lodge has a fish cleaning station and it was so convenient to be able clean and filet the fish outside at the lodge!!! Thank you for that!

Looking for a cozy mountain getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Noon Lodge is your place! Recently remodeled and updated, no need to search through dozens of rental listings sporting carpet, bedspreads, and kitchen utensils from decades long ago! Our key was waiting for us at check in, as was hot coffee/​tea and freshly baked cookies each morning! Our cabin for 4 had a quiet living room, fireplace, and kitchenette downstairs with a queen and two twin beds upstairs. All new rustic mountain décor made lounging or reading a book by the fire, warm and relaxing. Enjoy the outdoors with a short walk down to the lake, a quick drive into downtown Big Bear, or relaxing by the two communal fire pits at night. Check out was an easy drop of the key back into the lobby with Fritz the manager who always made sure we were relaxed and enjoying ourselves. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely enjoyed my stay at Noon Lodge. The exterior of the cabins are adorable. The interior is so charming; the décor is very tasteful, with a modern yet rustic appeal. The cabin had everything we needed (toiletries, towels, etc.) and the kitchen had all the appliances needed (fridge, microwave, coffee maker). We were always comfortable and cozy. The heater and fireplace are amazing! Check-​in and check-​out were seamless and the staff were courteous and accommodating. The location was great; we were able to walk to town and just steps away from the lake. Overall, this was a serene, much needed escape from the city and I will be back!

Cute, cozy, and very quiet… I came here for the weekend with my husband to relax. We were really happy with the cabin we had. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs. I would definitely stay here again as it’s very easy to get to everything. We got the queen studio this time around but next time we will probably try and stay in the larger cabin. Overall very happy with our stay.

Noon Lodge at Mallard Bay is a dreamy getaway location. The cabins are beautifully designed and the grounds make you feel like you are a kid away at camp. My favorite thing about the lodge is the communal fire places. We sat for hours while sipping wine and getting lost in conversation. The kitchen had everything you need to enjoy a great dinner, but we were close enough to the Village that we ate out for almost every meal.
Check in and out was easy, the lodge hosts were sweet and friendly, the showers were hot with great water pressure, the heaters worked and the fire place made our cabin so cozy.
We will definitely be going back.

This place is so instagram-​able! The rooms are beyond charming and the owners were so accommodating. They bake fresh cookies for the guests and well as brew delicious coffee every morning. The fire pit in the back of the complex is the best place to wind down after a long day on the slopes and has a beautiful view of the lake. I can’t wait to come back here in the summertime and use the pool.

This place is the cutest. We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. We were lucky enough to visit after the big snow fall so the place was covered in fresh powder. The back of the lodge had the most perfect little sledding hill for our 3 year old and all the other kids staying… even all the adults got in on the action. This place is very family friendly, so many happy little kids running around building snowmen, We LOVED the full kitchen. It had everything you needed to make every meal in room if you wanted to. The owner, Fritz, was very friendly and was busy the whole weekend shoveling snow, lighting fire pits and taking care of all the maintenance. He was very accessible when we needed anything. You can tell how much love and thought went into fixing this place up. We will definitely be back this summer!

Really cozy, well maintained, picturesque lodge. Comfortable with many amenities, the manager was really friendly and attended to all our needs. Will definitely come back our next visit to big bear!

Super cute place. Love the décor and location. Its perfect for familes but also couples looking for a getaway. I’m giving 3 stars because while we were there, there was a power outage on the night we arrived and most of the next day. I understand power outages are out of their control. But now they are telling everyone in the entire place to leave even if they have bookings for more nights. They wrote an email saying everyone is snowed in as nothing is functioning and therefore are closing but are asking us to leave in these condition. Very disappointing. We will however be back as i want to try and give this place one more chance

Really cool place! With a little time this place will be dialed and rock! Our rooms was great, bathroom was a little tight but all in all awesome little spot. Only gripe was the people staying above us. Super loud. Thanks for the great stay!

What a great little cabin in the woods. Me and my husband stayed the fist weekend that they reopened and are planning on staying again at the end on January, Our first stay was the fist weekend of November! Can’t say enough great things about this little lodge. It is adorable, the decorators have really outdone themselves but you can see that from the photos. The Inn keepers Fritz and his wife are so nice and helpful when looking for a good place to eat or just anything you are looking for. The kitchen is fully stocked and has anything you need just bring the food! We only ate out 2 times and made all of our meals at the cabin. The bed was very comfy and the heater kept it nice and toasty when it was 18 – 25 degrees outside.
We did sit at the fire for about 3 – 4 hours talking to other guests and enjoying a few glasses of wine. There was lots of firewood so the fire was going for hours. The pool and spa weren’t done but they plan on redoing all of that and I can’t wait to get in the spa when it is all done. They even plan on putting grills at the cabins so you can cook outside which is really nice.
We love this tucked away cabin in the woods and I am so glad we found it. It’s only about 5 mins from the main street of big bear and we had fun walking down the street looking at all of the fun shops. Can’t wait to come here again and go snowboarding at big bear mountain soon!

New, clean mid-​century minimalist meets utilitarian cabin. Outdoor fire pit areas with cool hipster music and friendly staff. Nice stay!

Oh… my…goodness! What an awesome place! I’ve been up to big bear many times now, and these is EASILY the best place I’ve seen. The location is perfect (right on the lake), the couple working there are super friendly and helpful and the rooms are incredible. Every detail clearly mattered, so nothing is gratuitous. It’s cutting edge design, combined with that vintage, rustic charm. Cozy fireplaces are a bonus! I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. All round, brilliant! I’ll be back soon!

What a quaint and cozy spot! I really enjoyed my stay at Noon Lodge. The rooms are a perfect combination of charming/​rustic and modern. The décor is wonderful and matches the overall feel of Big Bear quite well. Booking was easy, and the staff is beyond friendly and helpful. It’s great to stay at a place where you know so much care and attention has been put into every detail and the staff and owners are invested in what they offer.
