History

Established in 1933.

Our company has changed hands, names, and purposes many times over the last 80 years. While it has always had its roots in small boats and boaters we have also been an airport (1946) and an ice factory (1936). The name of the company has changed too: Valley Wide Marine, Pine Knot Concessions, and Pine Knot Boating are all names we have had in the past. Our current company is owned by several different investors and mostly serves boats, although we have had several major events and film history on our marina too. In more recent history we have been featured in Grey’s Anatomy, Summer Camp, and several commercials. No doubt about it, we have a very rich and exciting history.

With over 40yrs in the Marine Industry, Leo is the General Manager of Pine Knot Marina. Leo worked with Jacques Cousteau and has traveled the world solving marina problems and dealing with marine projects around the globe.

Really no complaints at all about this place, I only don’t give it 5 stars cuz i have nothing else to compare it to as being «good as it gets».
No reservation on Friday 10÷2÷15, but no worries, they had a pontoon for us. Cheaper than other options on the lake, and no 2 hour minimum that I read some others have, so we did an hour for $ 114 and had a great time. Our 5 year old got to be a captain and do some donuts so she really had a blast. Dockhand was helpful and explained all i needed to know and then some, helped park the boat when we were done, and we were on our way!

Great place to bring the family! We rented a pontoon on Sunday for 4 hours, we got to the rental building with just a small line, the woman working at the time was very kind and got us on the boat in good time. When we returned we met a woman named Dakota she was very patient with all our children returning life jackets:) she was also very knowledgable on where good restaurants were and what they had. Will be coming back just because of the amazing customer service pine knot has to offer!

Great customer service, price, and equipment. Went JetSkiing with the family and had a blast. Saved $ 90 over the place we rented from the previous day, on the north shore. Dock hands were very helpful. We will return.

Surprised my Husband w/​a boat rental today for his Birthday. I made the reservation over the phone 2 months prior to today as I found them online. The check-​in line was long. But that was expected as I’m sure every business company in Big Bear is super busy on the weekends. The pontoon was clean, in good condition and the guys who work there are very good at explaining everything and answer all your questions. The lake is amazing! We enjoyed our boat and can’t wait to come back with family and friends! Thanks, Pine Knot Marina!

Went for Labor Day weekend… I neglected to book a boat ahead of time but we called Pine Knot in the morning and they told us everything was sold out. We figured we would go anyways and also created a plan b of activities around the lake.
Got there and the people there seemed nice and courteous. We waited there for about 15 minutes and got lucky to get in on a no show reservation.
Pro: Nice people when you get there. There is $ 10 parking per car right by the boat dock. Also a tackle shop to pick up any bait.
Con: Phone service could be better with better idea of what would be available when.

Rented a simple fishing boat to putt around. Owner was really nice and seemed to run a good shop. People on the dock were helpful and friendly. All around great experience, especially for a rental place. Other rental places and other lakes have seemed a bit sketchy with deposits and the overall experience. This one was great.

As an owner of a boat slip in this marina, I can say this was one of the best investments I’ve made. The marina is very well maintained and managed very well. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Not only was the awesome location a big selling point and owning the slip, but also how well the marina managed. I toured and check out other marinas on the lake and this was also my 1st choice for the following reasons: 1. Right across from the Village (huge plus!) Boat servicing center, fueling station, tackle shop, Chad’s Place bar & grill on site and all the benefits that come with being a Dock Club member. (Slip owner). 24⁄7 access to your boat, too. The 4th of July fireworks display from this marina, too. Sweet! 5 Stars.

Wow! Talk about unfriendly — sheesh! I just called to check in to see if there were any cancelations for the boats and the woman on the phone responded with a curt no and hung up on me. Hmmm wondering if we should even go to our kayak reservation…

Great staff, very friendly and helpful, would recommend anyone visiting Big Bear to get on the lake in one of the many boats for rent at Pine Knot Landing. We rented a pontoon boat last weekend and had a great time!

Took 6 people on the «Miss Liberty Cruise» The boat was great but the captain who gave the narration was terrible. He thought he was a comedian and tried to be funny. We took friends on the Queen at another marina and it was great. The captain was full of knowledge and made the trip very enjoyable. Go to Big Bear Marina to take a cruise.

Nice staff, quick turn around, clean, spacious and very comforable pontoon — huge range of sizes of lifejackets for children (we had a 9month old, a 2year old, 3yr old and 5yr old).
$ 141 for an hour seems a bit expensive to me, but I didn’t shop around so can’t compare — the pontoon was really easy to use and all staff friendly and helpful.

We rented a pontoon boat with a 50 hp outboard motor. The seats were upholstered and plentiful. The boat was clean and the engine ran well. The dock staff were friendly and explained the features of the boat and its operation very clearly. We had a great time on Big Bear Lake on this very comfortable boat.
Parking is $ 10 but is very close to the dock so getting your party stuff to the boat is very easy. Our ice chest on wheels had no problem getting to the boat. The dock crew will drive the boat from the docking to the end of the pier for you so that maneuvering is very easy from there to get underway.
