I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Rose yesterday. I love Ruben sandwiches so I decided to try their’s. The sandwich Was delicious and you could choose from so many sides. The lunch was great but I have to say the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Katy, really made our experience so enjoyable. Thanks Katy for making our day out so much fun!!!

This place has a nice décor although too bright The food is average but the prices are above average, not a great combination. Kitchen is very slow, maybe because of take out business. You can expect to wait over 20 minutes for you food. It is also difficult to get all elements of your meal served hot, more kitchen issues I guess. The wait staff is usually good and pleasant. Could be a good restaurant, wants to be a bit upscale but clearly not there yet and given that these issues have persisted for a long time I am not confident the current leadership can actually fix this place. If it were not for a popular bar, I think this place might fail.

Spent some time in Lexington and Concord for Patriot’s Day weekend and stopped into Emerald Rose for dinner with my boyfriend, Matt. It was a Saturday night and there was live music in the bar. We were seated in the dining room, which is separated from the bar and actually quite quiet. For appetizers Matt got the clam chowder and we ordered a plate of Pretzel Bites. The pretzels and the cheesey dip it was served with was fantastic. The chowder looked great… nice and thick! Matt said it was good. For our meals, I got the Steak Tips with mashed potatoes and broccolini and Matt got the Bangers and Mashed. The steak tips were marinated with a Guinness BBQ sauce and were cooked perfectly and the sides were tasty as well. The bangers were very flavorful. Great meals and fantastic service as well! Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Will be back next time I’m in the area!

Follow up: The manager/owner finally contacted me after three weeks. Granted that it was a busy period with St. Patrick’s Day and Easter being back to back, but the time lapse does indicate where the restaurant’s priorities lie, and I do not think it is with making amends. However that being said, the manager’s letter did include a gift certificate for $ 35 which I gave to my wife who took her sister for lunch. I declined… as I said… there will not be a third time.

The wife and I went there today because of their«buy one turkey dinner for 16.95 and get one free» coupon. So we sit down at the bar at 6:30 and when the server asked about menus we said we were going to have the turkey special. She says, «We’re all out of turkey.» I said, «You’re out of turkey on a Thursday night at 6:30?» So, does a manager come over and say this is our fault so you can use the coupon on another entrée? Nope. Does a manager come over and say, «We’re so sorry?» Nope. Does anybody say they are sorry? Nope. So now I’m starting to wonder if this is a bait and switch deal by design. I mean… who’s going to leave after they’ve driven all the way to the restaurant? So I ask a server if they run out of turkey often and she said that she only works two days a week but that they ran out yesterday, too. Hmmmm. A couple that came in after us also asked for the turkey special and guess what? They stayed, too, and ordered something else. This owner may think he’s smart by bringing in all the extra business with his free turkey dinner scam but diners aren’t stupid. If you want to use this coupon call ahead… even if its 5:00 on a Tuesday evening. UPDATE2⁄29 I received an email from the general manager today. In it he thanked me for my feedback, apologized for our bad experience, outlined how the problem should have been handled and mentioned what changes have been made to reduce the chances of this happening again. He also told me about some circumstances that contributed to their running out of turkey so soon. It seemed to be an honest and extremely sincere effort.

Big fan of the shepards pie, when the potatoes aren’t burnt. This is our place of choice for all family birthdays and events.

Food was fantastic and the Shepherds Pie was delicious. What really sealed the deal was the bread. It was phenomenal! The restaurant was very clean and the bar was large and well kept. They had a great variety of whiskey and beer and the service was good.

Team dinner of about 18 people last night. Food was solid for the most part. I had the mussels which had crispy bacon sprinkled throughout– proving once again that everything is better with bacon. I also had a burger and sweet potato fries which were both very good and a huge portion. Favorites of the table were pretzel app, mussels, calamari, burgers and beef tips and bread pudding. Only thing shunned by the table was the pita app. Service was OK for such a large group but not very attentive filling water.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Been here 3 – 4 times and have Always gotten the Maple Chicken. It is To Die For. I hardly get any grissel in the chicken. The risotto is perfect and asparagus cooked(grilled) through just right. I haven’t tried anything else bc why mess with this amazing meal? Plus I don’t eat seafood and they have a fair selection of it. Good for those with a desire for a seafood choice but not for me. The nachos are good, nothing to write home about but something I’ll order if in the mood to eat. Price can be a little high but it’s a kinda fancy place without feeling like you Need to dress up to go. Cloth on tables and cloth napkins. Love this place!!! Highly recommend.

My mother took me out for my «birth» — decided to try ER since neither of us had ever been. Waited in the ghost town of a reception area for a few minutes until my mother went into the bar and asked if we could seat ourselves. Sat down — nice waitress. In training but fairly on the ball. Drinks — I had a «Smashed Pumpkin» — good stuff. Mom had a margarita — not so much. It didn’t even taste like a margarita. She returned it with no hassle. Food. I had a black and bleu burger — OMGFATTENINGBUTTERYCHEESYHEAVEN. Hand cut fries were really good too. Mom got the fish sandwich and sweet potato fries — she gave the thumbs up as well. All in all — good food, good service after the initial wait. I’ll be back.

it was freezing in there! I asked for a salad and was told no because it was a few minutes after 10 and all they were serving was fried food. I asked for a red ale and they said they didn’t have anything like that. The music was super loud and the food that my boyfriend ordered was not very good. The artichoke/spinach dip was nothing special and a bit bland. Their clam chowder was way too salty and very thin. Overall, I would not return! — perhaps this is why the parking lot was so empty.

Great menu with a solid selection of pub fare and some inventive twists on classic items. Great beer selection and a lot of seasonal brews on tap. The food is freshly prepared and is always delicious. Staff are super friendly and attentive — service can be a bit slow but I think it’s genuinely because they are taking their time making sure the food is well-made. It is often crowded so best to make reservations ahead of time.

My family visits this restaurant often. The staff is polite and friendly. My husband loves the chicken pot pie and roast beef sandwich. The boiled dinner is delicious. They have a great bread basket. They are always great with my toddler, bringing her over oyster crackers and spoons to play with. This is a great place to grab a meal.

In between a late afternoon appointment and an evening rev, I decided to stop at the Emerald Rose to grab a beer and maybe a bar snack. I ended up with Guinness and the Emerald Rose’s «famous(?)» nachos. The beer was good as usual. The nachos were directly opposite. It seemed that the kitchen had thrown everything but the sink on this stack of very old, beyond being fit for human consumption nachos. I tried to find something I liked — impossible. The bartender was very nice and upbeat. I paid my TOOEXPENSIVE for what you get bill and left. I probably ate less than 5% of what was put in front of me. Too bad — it sounded good on the menu. I’ve been to the Emerald Green in the past and have enjoyed my experience. Maybe it really is not a PUB after all. It’s a bar with a restaurant attached. I will not repeat my experience and visit the pub bar again.

I actually feel bad giving only three stars because I feel as though you could tell they try hard to please their guests. Which is actually why I gave more than two stars. The restaurant was extremely bright. For dinner, this is inappropriate in the restaurant world. The lights were up way too high and it was uncomfortable. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The fresh crudite with dip was awesome. It came with asparagus green peppers carrots celery and cherry tomatoes. The steak tips weren’t seasoned properly, and we found it strange that it was served with mashed potatoes and onion rings. My chicken fettuccini was strange. The sauce was delicious! The chicken was overlooked and tasteless. The pasta was over cooked. It was missing something. Maybe tomatoes or pancetta would have brightened up the flavors. The server was sweet. She did a good job of making us feel welcomed.

Fun place to go outside of Boston This is my second time here. I am from San Diego but travel frequently to Boston usually staying around Burlington and Billerica. The GM is very friendly, wait staff adequate. And food had a nice Irish New England flare. Some colleagues of mine came for lobster rolls and thoroughly enjoyed them. I got the baked haddock which was nice. If you like a nice beer selection(including some west coast brews!) and some comfort food for a reasonable price then this is the place to go.

$ 9.50 for ONE hotdog and fries! I went in there with a group of 7 coworkers. I was in the mood for a hotdog so I wanted to order off the kids menu and it was already priced at $ 7.95. I wasn’t being cheap, I even ordered an appetizer($ 10.00) and the lady said she had to charge an extra $ 1.50 premium since I was not a kid. I was already spending $ 20.00 on the single hotdog, appetizers and drink, why couldn’t they let the $ 1.50 slide? Across the street at Newtowne’s, TWO hotdogs and fries is only $ 5 bucks. I should have gotten a sandwich or a burger because it was only a buck more after all was said and done. Despite that, the food was good.

It was okay. Nothing to write home about. My food was average, service was good, my drink was average. Seems like a local place. Maybe it would be better if I got to be there on a nice warm summer day out on their patio having a cocktail with my appetizers. Not sure, not sure I’d be back. It was the place we went because it was open.

Made a reservation via opentable for 630 on a Saturday evening. Parking lot was full but we were seated quickly and received prompt service. Food is better than average. I had chili, which was better than expected for an Irish restaurant, and shepard’s pie. My only complaint us that the restaurant is loud, bad acoustics. Will return again soon.
