History

Established in 1998.

Bob and Andrea Howe bought the lodge from a couple who was operating it mostly as a bear hunting lodge. They’ve expanded to include all the things they love to do, and keep it open year round for all to enjoy. Maine has so much to offer throughout the beautiful seasons. Bob has been guiding since he was 18 in 1976 and had been working in a local paper mill. When the mill closed in 1998, he decided to follow his passion for guiding and do it full time. They specialize in making people feel at home and treating everyone like family.

Meet the Business Owner

Bob H.

Business Owner

Bob Howe has been a life long sportsman. Fishing and hunting since a very young age, he became a licensed Maine guide at the age of 18. He guided part time on the side, working full time at Scott Paper Co. in Winslow, Maine. When the mill closed in 1998, he purchased Pine Grove Lodge. Expanding the business to year round activities, he is very busy and is helped very much by his son, Heath, who is also a Maine guide. Bob had written a column in the «Outdoors Magazine» for a number of years, and has been interviewed many times by other writers for his wealth of information on wildlife. His greatest passion is providing free outdoor adventures for our American Veterans, 911 Responders, and other heroes through his not-for-profit Pine Grove Program.
