Great outlet store to buy camping and outdoor gear at discounted prices!
The Eureka Camping Center offers a good selection Eureka tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, raingear, folding chairs, kayaks, Silva compasses, outdoor watches, cooking equipment, miscellaneous supplies & parts, field guides, maps, and more. The discounted prices here are very good especially for Eureka tents, which are sold as first quality, A class (with minor imperfections, flaws) and B class (refurbished, returned, or slightly used).
I’ve been involved with a few scouting organizations including scout troops and large contingencies (Jamborees & Philmont) and the group leaders have made special trips with vans to Binghamton to stock up on tents in volume from the Eureka Camping Center for great savings compared to buying retail. Those Eureka backpacking tents are very nice to sleep in and compact enough to carry in my backpack.
Personally, I’ve shopped here for various supplies (stakes, straps, buckles, sealants, tarps, pocket knives, mess kits), external frame backpacks, and compasses. Since I was already in the area, I stopped in here over the weekend to purchase a new Silva compass and case for an upcoming hike in NH, which was discounted at 30 percent off the sticker price.
This store is not like a Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, or a Campmor, which have massive selections and stock of camping and outdoor gear, but the discounted prices here keep me returning again every so often.
