Levy’s Fine Jewelry

This is it for Birmingham y’all. The customer service has always been professional and sincere here for me. I have used them for over 20 years for everything from engagement ring to diamond studs to watch repair to gold chains. They are price competitive, knowledgeable, resourceful and unique. They do not put on airs or make you feel like a bull in a china shop. They are proudly Alabamian, but not brookies. Still, they have all the best selection of diamond goodies and unique antiques as well. If you don’t know now you know.

Visiting a jewelry store is never high up on my list of things-​to-​do… But Levy’s isn’t your ordinary jewelry store. If anything, it feels more like a museum filled with beautiful and intriguing curiosities. Even if you’re not looking to buy anything it’s hard to not become entranced by it’s shiny spell.
Levy’s keeps up with modern brands (especially when it comes to diamonds and watches) but their bread and butter comes from antique and estate jewelry, which results in them having lots of rare and /​or one-​of-​a-​kind pieces of jewelry. Some of the pieces are immediately ready to hit the sales floor, while others are cleaned up and restored by Levy’s amazing staff — think of them as both artists and archaeologists.
It’s that last bit that gives Levy’s a competitive edge to any jewelry store anywhere: Not only can they fix most anything you bring there way but they can also take bits and pieces of old jewelry and create something brand new.
Everyone at Levy’s has a genuine passion for what they do – after all, it’s in the blood (Levy’s has been family owned and operated since 1922). There are no high-​pressure sales techniques, rather a dedicated staff who are as excited about what they have in the store as you surely will be.

June 1^st marks it! Levy’s won for the ring my now FIANCÉ surprised me with! They were so good to both of us while we were browsing, questioning, and trying on rings, and I really appreciate how helpful they were to him while he was keeping it on hold, getting it sized, and going through the payment. all while keeping me guessing. I still can’t get over how perfect and stunning my ring is, and how it really makes me love him more each time I see it. Everyone working at Levy’s was so good to us and excited for us; it’s really moving and encouraging — and fun, because they’re not interested in sending you out with «just some ring.» The staff really has been as genuine as the one-​of-​a-​kind jewelry you can only find here. That said, we know where we’ll be buying our wedding bands in the near future!

Levy’s has the best customer service, hands down, of any jeweler in Birmingham. Though they did not end up having what I wanted, they do have an amazing selection especially if you are into antique/​estate jewelry that is more unique looking. The associates are knowledgeable of diamonds and stones (if they are not, there is always someone there who is). Whenever I have come here the associate will spend as much time with us as we need to help us find what we want.
Do not waste your time at any other jeweler except for Levy’s and Diamonds Direct (customer service there isn’t nearly as good as Levy’s but they also have a great selection). Bromberg’s is excellent too but $$$.

Oldest most reliable jewelry store in town

I can’t compare my visit to Brittani’s, but I can advocate that Levy’s is a great, well-​established jewelry store in Birmingham. I recently decided to have my great-grandmother’s antique engagement ring repaired so that I can enjoy it. I had it repaired once before at a shop in Crestline Village, but the repairs did not hold up more than 6 months. I visited Levy’s to make sure that the repairs were done well and long-​lasting. The gentleman who helped me spent a good deal of time looking over all that needed to be done for the ring. There were parts I was unaware had been damaged! Anyway, it took only a couple of weeks and I’ve enjoyed the ring everyday since then!
This is not a pawn shop. Just as I was given a trade-​in value or a sale-​value on my car from Drivers Way recently, one has to expect this changes from day to day. I was given 7 days to make my decision and I knew that they may change the offer.
I hate that there was a miscommunication between Brittani and the staff at Levy’s, but hopefully they will clear that up.
Levy’s has a great selection – don’t let the previous review turn you away.

If you are looking for a big selection, they have it. If you are looking for even mildly adequate customer service, go elsewhere. Levy’s offered me a price for a ring on Saturday and the following Thursday, when I decided to sell them the ring, I went back and they offered me a different price. They indicated that the offer was based on trade but the salesperson, Jimmy, said absolutely nothing about trading the ring on Saturday. Additionally, I waited almost an hour on Thursday while on my lunch break to sell them the ring only after the wait for them to announce they changed their offer. Other customershad been waiting an excessivly long time and were equally frustrated with the lack of service. I feel very deceived and would never do business with Levy’s. Buyer beware!
