History

Established in 1975.

The Pilleteri Family started their first Grocery Store in 1934

It was named Charles Pilleteri’s Grocery Store west of Birmingham Alabama

Later when Lee and Joe Pilleteri the son’s of Charles Pilleteri Senior took over the name was changed to Supreme Super Market

Supreme was in business until 1990 when the family sold the store to another owner who was out of business shortly after he took ownership.

The Grandson of Charles Pilleteri senior started Mr. P’s Butcher Shop & Deli in 1975. His name is Charles Pilleteri named after his Grandfather.

Today Charles Pilleteri his wife Carol, son Chris Pilleteri, daughter Toni Kennedy, son in law Scott Kennedy and Grand Son Austin Dixon,

all work at Mr. P’s.

Alabama Home Products Inc. Started in 1989

The two buildings next to Mr. P’s are the wearhouse and office for AHP Inc. This company distributes Pilleteri’s Seasoning, Marinade, BBQ Sauce and other local products to stores and restaurants in the State of Alabama and Pan handle of Florida.

Business Owner

Charles Pilleteri born 1950 started Mr. P’s after working for his Dad Joe and Uncle Lee Pilleteri at Supreme Super Mkt. in high school untill he graduated from UAB in 1974. Then he worked for Purex Corperation calling on stores in the State of Alabama and selling them Purex bleach and Purex powdered detergent. until he opened Mr. P’s in September 1975.

Jake and Charles owned a night club named Hollywood Underground for 8 months of 1976. They owned a beauty shop named Miss P’s next to Mr. P’s for two years.

Carol, Charles and Daughter toni owned a gift shop name Tender Moments next to Mr. P’s for one year.

The first 10 yeras his brother Jake Pilleteri was his partner but the store was not able to pay both brothers so Jake went to work selling T V advertising.

Today Mr. P’s Deli and Alabama Home products are both growing in business.
