Pop-A-Lock Locksmith Birmingham opened in 1996, but was taken over by the current owner and largest Pop-A-Lock owner Sam Landers in 1998. Sam had started to expand the Jacksonville and other markets beyond car door unlocking, and decided the time was ripe to expand to Birmingham. Using his past experience and business knowledge, he helped the Birmingham Pop-A-Lock team grow their business into what it is today — the leading full service locksmith in Birmingham.

I was connected to Pop-A-Lock by my auto insurance for a flat tire. The technician arrive 25 minutes ahead of schedule, was super polite and friendly, and fixed my tire in no time at all. I was very pleased with my experience.

I had to call Pop A Lock a few days ago when I locked my keys in my car at an outdoor shopping center. I called Pop a Lock and they gave me a reasonable estimate for the job over the phone and showed up in 20 minutes, although they quoted an hour. This was great for me as the temp that day was pushing 95 degrees. The representative was kind and quick and the price was just as stated, and from what I can tell, cheaper than others have paid for emergency lock out service.

i called pop-a-lock and was told that there was no one to take calls at this time. she then said hold on and she then told me that my area was not covered by them. i told her that it was listed in their ad. she apologized again, and i told her they need to change their ad. she said she would tell them.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I would give NEGATIVE stars if I could. I was told it would be a 40 minute wait. An hour and a half later, when all the stores around me were closed and I was left in the cold, I called to find where y’all were ONLY TO BE TOLD MY TICKET WAS CLOSED AND YOU WERENT COMING!!! I was told your employee wasn’t sure where to go, despite having the address and name of the place I was in front of, 1919 28^th Avenue South, Homewood, AL 35 209 — Yoe Express, a place that’s not hard to find and that I was, again, IN FRONT OF!!! I was never called to confirm ANYTHING OR BE TOLD YOU WEREN’T COMING. YOU LEFT ME, A 23 YEAR OLD, 5’0 WOMAN IN A COLD AND DARK AREA WITH NO WORD!!! You’d better be glad I made it home safely through the aid of your competitor because if I hadn’t, I would sue this crap company for everything it’s worth. I will never call this service again, but I will follow up until I speak to a manager about what happened, and where «Kristy Hokerk» was and why she left me, since according to your automated text, that was who was «en route» and would be with me «in 40 minutes» at 8:27 last night!!!

These guys were lifesavers! We accidentally locked the keys in the trunk of our rental car at the airport, but due to the way cars are now being made «keyless» — no lock on the trunck for a manual open, a computer system that shuts down when it thinks the car is being stolen, etc. – , we couldn’t get them out without 1) physically removing the seats from the back of the car 2) breaking into the trunk, effectively damaging it or 3) hauling the car to the dealership and getting the locks recut. All very expensive options. Pop a lock came and within 15 minutes, our locksmith very easily and cheaply solved our problem (hint: Go through the lockwell on the driver door)! No damage to the rental car, keys returned, our luggage rescued and all it cost was the service call. Moral of the story: don’t rent a Hyundai Sonata and call Pop a Lock if you have lock trouble in Birmingham.
