Established in 2014.

Locally owned and operated by designer Kathy McMahon, Urban Home Market opened in December of 2014. McMahon saw a huge need for a high end furniture store of this caliber in Shelby County, and Urban Home Market has been extremely well received since opening its doors.

I visited Urban Home Market a few days ago. I entered the store and was not greeted or acknowledged. There was one other customer there and 3 associates and the owner at the counter. I was probably in the store for a good 30 minutes and was never acknowledged. There is absolutely no excuse for this horrible of service. I decided to give business elsewhere. I hope this store realizes that customers are number one priority and they should be treated as such.

I visited this brand new store this week. Urban Home Market is pretty much a unique shopping venue for the 280 corridor. The home furnishings items have a lot of unique and out of the ordinary kind of things.
The general theme is kind of a rustic, urban, industrial focus. Lots of metal and reclaimed wood things. They have a design service too.
They are off to a good start, I hope they will be very successful!
