Amazing smell as soon as you walk in. Literally the best ice cream selection we’ve ever had, and we consider ourselves experts in ice cream tasting. Chocolates and various other candies are unbelievable!

If you want to cheat your diet and craving some ice cream, this is definitely the place to stop! There is a reason why there is a line and people outside eating… The ice cream is amazing!

Drove 2 hours for a turtle Apple and they were out so they made me a brand new one personalized to my liking(nuts and chocolate selection). They offer free samples of ice cream and fudge. Perfect old school treat to finish off a trip.

Great classic ice cream parlor with lots of other great snack choices. One of the best straight up old school vanilla scoops I’ve had in a while. Also loved their strawberry ice cream and raspberry sorbet. I tried a wild berry soda that was okay but probably less impressive in contrast to the ice cream. The staff was also enthusiastic and friendly.

i’m a loyal fan of oreo. so even the owner highly recommend the salted caramel(my boyfriend loves it and he betrayed his favorite flavor– chocolate peanut butter), i still got their cookie and cream ice cream. i must say it is the best that i had so far. the ice cream is not so sweet as normal American desserts. but it is very rich, creamy, and flavorful! i fully enjoy the milky taste without letting my sense gets numb by the sugar. the corn is never failed as being ice cream’s best buddy. didn’t get to try any other goodies but so satisfied just by this ice cream!

Wow! Fantastic ice cream parlor! No wonder the line was out the door. Definitely recommend the black mountain mud flavor. We had a large crowd and everyone was pleased. We stood outside on the street and enjoyed our treats bc it was so crowded in the shop.

Really rich and decadent stuff. They make their own cones which completely fills the place with a super delicious smell. Definitely would go back.

You cannot go wrong on a hot summers day with this place. Ice cream and fudge are a wonderful mix! They give out free samples that will do the trick and entice you to buy. I was a bit disappointed that then didn’t have pralines for sell… Just my preference. My opinion, the best place to go for dessert in Black Mountain.

Not bad. You can’t go wrong with sweets. Came to Black Mountain for one of my trail walks. Before my start of 10 km walk, I noticed Kilwins as I was walking towards my start point. I decided I would stop by and check it out after I was done walking. My girlfriend and I were greeted with friendly staff and offers to try out as many samplings as we wanted. I passed the chocolates and fudge covered sweets and went straight for the ice cream. I asked the staff which flavor of sundae special they would recommend and was told that the turtle sundae was her fav. I gave it a shot and shared it with my girlfriend. Vanilla ice cream with caramel, chocolate fudge covered with some whip cream, walnuts, and with cherry on top, in a waffle cone. Mmmm! Sound delicious? No? It was pretty good. I just wished it was in bigger serving. Hehe. I look forward to seeing this chain move to VA. Until than, I’ll have to wait for my next visit to try out other sweets.

You can’t go wrong here! Fudge is amazing and the ice cream is the best. We never take a trip to Black Mountain without stopping here.

This place is either a sweets lovers dream or nightmare, depending on how you look at it. For me, dream, but only because i don’t live anywhere close to it! Right in the middle of the cute little downtown Black Mountain shopping area, Kilwins has something for everyone. Fudge, which they’ll let you sample. Chocolate covered everything(pretzel bark, rice krispies treats on a stick, and a bunch of other things that I didn’t spend too much time looking at for my own health. Ice cream in tons of different flavors, from the traditional to the interesting. I went with the salted caramel ice cream, which the guy told me was really salty. It was obvious he had never met me, because it wasn’t that salty, but it was GOOD. Out of this world is how boyfriend described it. He went with a piece of smores bark, which he gobbled up before I could taste but said it was fantastic. His parents and his sister and brother in law also stopped by here at different points and brought home some fudge(chocolate and peanut butter, both of which were good) and a caramel apple covered in some kind of nuts — I didn’t try it but it looked good and they said it was fantastic. I was really surprised to find out that this is a chain, but its the perfect place for a quaint mountain town. Only reason its 4 instead of 5 is that its just a little expensive.

We found heaven in the small town of Black Mountain and it was in the form of fudge. The sweet aroma of fresh fudge lured my group to this small ton dessert shop. Once inside we were greeted with huge smiles and free fudge. My colleagues and I were allowed to try every flavor of fudge the shop had to offer. It was all delicious. Most fudge are hard but this fudge was moist and melted in your mouth. On the other side of the facility we found a large amount of ice cream in many different flavors. This little shop quenched our need for sweets and provided us with amazing and informative information about the town. If I need fudge, I will come here to get it
