Specialties
Unique, Contemporary and Sophisticated Fine Jewelry. A freelance writer penned an article on renowned designer, ROBERTO VENGOECHEA. The headline read: «Imagine Dr. Seuss meeting Salvador Dali …» She continues: «Vengoechea’s contemporary (jewelry) designs encompass both beauty and madness similar to Dali’s style while defying acceptable 21st century jewelry traditions, with square, architectural and geometric shapes inspired by Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi.»
What sets him apart from other designers is his unique ability to combine old world mastery (in wax sculpting) with futuristic and unconventional three-dimensional shapes using the «lost wax» casting process. Vengoechea blends his own formula of pure 24 karat gold to create his own 14K «Green Gold» color (the same color as 18K). He also sets his own gemstones and diamonds and most custom orders are completed in a few days.
Roberto Vengoechea’s rings are, indeed, «sculptures for your finger.»
History
Established in 1995.
Roberto has been creating jewelry for 30 years, initially for the wholesale jewelry trade without recognition for his creativity as a designer. During this time he mastered all aspects of the jewelry industry but his real expertise was wax modelling. Since childhood he aspired to be an architect. In a sense, he is now fulfilling this dream through futuristic jewelry designs. When he and his wife, June moved to North Carolina, he was finally able to flourish and unleash his creativity and was further inspired by the beauty of the mountains and their tranquil settings. June manages the daily operation of the Gallery, handling everything involved with running a business. Working together as a team is what makes them successful.
