I have been on the Garage Mahal art car«Ganesh Mobile» before. This is what I think… PROS: –Someone always greets you when you get on the car and they’re usually pretty friendly. –There’s pretty cool music and the DJs are nice. –There are two levels and a crow’s nest that you can climb up to. –A fireball comes out of the top. –It’s colorful. –There’s a sculpture of that elephant thingie that they worship in India. –Flags are neat. –It looks like someone took a Bedazzler to the ceiling on the first floor. That was a nice touch. CONS: –I tried to run and jump on the car through the side door while it was moving and there was somebody there who told me I couldn’t. I don’t like to be told what to do when I’m on vacation at Burning Man. –They could really use some big-name DJs like Tiesto or Paul Oakenfold and that would really jazz up the scene. –There’s always so many people on there and it’s hard to move around and stuff. –The art car bills itself as having a stripper pole, but I didn’t see any strippers when I went on it. –The front end used to look like a truck. –Did a family of racoons once make this thing their home? –I couldn’t go on it in 2014. All in all, the Ganesh Mobile provides an excellent Playa experience. I felt safe yet alive all at the same time. I would definitely go on it again if they offered me a free cocktail or something. Maybe the owner and I can work something out and I can add another star or two.

Can’t say enough good things about this art car. I mean, color, light, sound AND fire?! Whaaat? The Ganesh Mobile has it all, and over a decade of service to thousands of burners. This vehicle is a magnet for the most lovely people and slammin’ DJ crews on the playa, inspiring booty-shaking that goes to 11. Find. This. Art. Car.

The Grand Dame of the Dust has provided more smiles per gallon on the Black Rock Desert since her debut in 2002. With layer upon layer of love applied to her chassis, she delights all passengers in righteous regalement! Sure, there are bigger /louder /brighter art cars out there, but you can’t buy soul — It is a quality accrued over time.
